Friday Favorites: Wellies for TWO Giveaway!


Happy happy happy Friday, friends!

Okay…I don’t know about you, but we have Olympic fever over here.  If there is one consistent theme on my blog over the last 10½ years it is our love of all-things Olympic related.  We were so excited to watch last night and then cannot wait to see the opening ceremonies tonight.  Who else is obsessed?!  Andrew and I are those crazy people that you will find up at 3:30 in the morning cheering on some obscure sport that no one has really ever heard of…because we can’t get enough 🙂 .  Just for grins, here’s a throwback pic from when we took the kids (pre-Madeley) to the Olympic Museum…

…look how little everyone is!  They get big SO FAST!!  So, if you are looking for us this weekend, we’re on the couch.

So, Sheaffer bought me a bottle of this last week…

…because she said it was the greatest thing EVER, and I cannot stop using it…

…from avocado toast to scrambled eggs, I’m shaking it on everything.  For all of you Trader Joe’s peeps out there, grab you a bottle.  Stat.

Narci (who is my Stella & Dot rep) had on the cutest bracelets the other day and told me to get myself some too…

…and because I love bracelets and always listen to Narci, I did 🙂 .  Aren’t they cute?!  I love the colors in them!!  These will look so cute heading into summer too.  You can see them all HERE.

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to do more yoga (something I love!) and several of you told me to download this app…

…called Yogaglo and I did a few weeks ago AND LOVE IT!  I honestly have never loved a workout app more!!  Now, there is a monthly fee to use the app, but it’s amazing!  You can pick your classes (by length, type of yoga, instructor, level of difficulty, etc) and the workouts are so good!  I use it all the time and am completely smitten with it.  If you like this kind of thing, I think you’ll love this app.  Thank you to all of you who recommended it to me!!

I found these treatment pad things for your face that I think you guys will love!  I’ve used it now three times and am obsessed!  Back in the fall when I did my Skin Care post, I told you guys how much I love the brand Tula, and the mask is from there.  When I went to reorder face wash the other day, I ordered these too and am so happy I did!  Here’s how it works…

You buy a box that has 16 of these little packets inside.  Here’s a pic of the front of one packet and the back.  First, I wash my face…

…I always take my makeup off with the cleansing oil and then wash my face with this Tula face wash…

…then you open a packet and remove this thing.  First, you rub the smooth side all over your face (it has a special serum on it), then you flip it over and scrub your face for a minute with the other side.  (Little bits of cotton will be on your face, but that’s perfectly fine!)  It’s freakish how much stuff this thing removes from your face.  Even after I cleanse and wash my face, this little pad thing removes a TON of leftover makeup and whatnot from my face.  After I’m done, I moisturize and my skin feels great.  This is the closest thing I’ve ever used to making me feel like I left the dermatologist’s office. It reallllly deep cleans.

One of the most popular giveaways Sheaffer and I ever did was this one…

…it was a Valentine’s giveaway where we gave one winner and her friend each a pair of Wellies.  We were talking about that giveaway the other day and decided to resurrect it for this upcoming holiday 🙂 .  This time though, we’re making it an Instagram giveaway and there will be TWO winners each getting a pair of Wellies for themselves and one more pair to gift.  Here’s how it’s going to work:  Sheaffer and I will both put this graphic above on Instagram today around 6:00 AM CST.  You go to either (or both if you want more entries!) of our IG accounts and tag the person you would pick to win with you.  One random person will be picked from my Instagram and another from Sheaffer’s.  BOTH you and the person you tag have to follow each of us on Instagram in order to win.  The random entries will be picked and we’ll order you some Wellies!  (You pick glossy, matte, tall or short!)  Easy enough?  And the best part?  You can enter as many times as you want with multiple people.  You can enter once with your sister, once with your mama, once with your co-worker, etc.  You enter, we pick, you and your tagged person get Wellies.  Contest valid for US citizens only.

I have probably posted more about my Wellies than any other pair of shoes I own over the last ten years.  They are tried and true favorites of mine…

…they’re comfy, they keep my feet warm and of course, they keep my feet really dry too.

    Try the seasoning on 2ingredientdough bagels. Equal portions of self rising flour and plain non-fat Greek yogurt. You can use the dough for an individual pizza crust, make rolls, or bagels.

    We are also Olympic obsessed! I am currently on maternity leave (sweet baby George joined us on December 6). When I was looking ahead to maternity leave and realized I would not only be off of work for the holidays but also for the Olympics, I could hardly believe my luck! Enjoy the games and GO USA!

    I love Tula products but haven’t tried the treatment pads yet, so I’ll have to check them out!     Have you tried the Foreo Luna? It totally replaced my Clarisonic- it deep cleanses so much better and has antimicrobial properties too! Win-win in my book.

    Hi Shay! The Everything Bagel Seasoning is AMAZING in a frittatta. I saute the veggies/meat in it, season the eggs with it, then top with cheese and even MORE seasoning before putting the whole thing in the oven. My TJs sometimes runs out, so I now buy multiple bottles at a time. Enjoy!

      I do!! If I had to pick one, it would be the Tula one that is blue. It’s such a multi-tasker!

        Have you purchased the OPI let’s be friends recently? I have seen you wear it a bunch and it’s such a nice color!! It doesn’t appear Nordstrom and Amazon sell it any longer.

    Does your dermatologist have their own skincare line? I’m curious if you use any of their products or what makes you choose most products from a department store?

      They don’t. They recommend what kinds of products to use (serums, moisturizers, Retin-A), but they don’t have a line.

    Watching the Olympics with my family growing up is such a fond memory! My husband and I always watched with our boys as well….and I hope they look back on those times as great family memories some day too. I just ordered the cleansing oil and Tula! Very excited to try both, my skin needs a little boost as I roll towards 53 in a few weeks.

    Here is some info for your yoga friends. I went to Groupon and got a great deal on Groupon. It’s called the TheYogaCollective.com. It was $15 for a year and there are so many choices. I have done about 5 classes this far and love it.

    Hi, Shay. Someone told me a couple of months ago that the TJs everything seasoning was life changing. I thought that was quite the exaggeration but I’m now obsessed. Have you tried the 21 seasoning salute? That one is also great. Love your blog and your sunny outlook on life!

    Your avocado toast always looks so yummy! Is it just mashed up avocado or do you add something to it like lemon juice?

      Sometimes, I get fancy, on this day, it was just mashed up avocado with that seasoning…because that stuff is amazing!
