It’s What’s Up Wednesday!
Once a month, my friends Mel, Sheaffer and I host this link up where we share some random and fun stuff that’s up with us today. If you blogged WUW too, make sure you link up at the bottom of the post! Every month, we answer these questions…
…in our What’s Up Wednesday posts!
Here’s a little look at what I’m up to today…
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
Did you catch my MEAL PLANNING MONDAY this week? Super simple supper recipes just for YOU! We’ve been eating a lot of that plus a lot of…
…jam and marmalade! Hahahahaha! Did you see my post yesterday on freezer jam, canning and preserving? I mean…I’m really trying over here to learn this stuff!
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
This week, I did a post ALL ABOUT BOSTON! It made me think about our most recent trip…
If you are planning a trip to this beautiful city sometime soon, make sure you check out this post and read ALL OF THE COMMENTS! There are so many great ideas about what to do in this amazing city!!
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
These fruit vinegars…
I bought these at Williams-Sonoma a few weeks ago and have been loving them! They come in a bunch of flavors, but I really like Guava and Blackberry. I have been adding them to my salads with a little olive oil as the dressing…
…this is a very typical lunch for me. Salad with one of Amy’s frozen burritos (those things are so good!).
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
We’re in the throes of sports over here! Between baseball, volleyball and dance, we’re a busy bunch of people. I just love that cutie batting right there 🙂 .
I don’t think I’m dreading anything in particular right this minute.
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Erika and I wanted to do something fun this month, so if you contact our travel agency and book a trip with us in May (departing any time in 2018 or 2019), you will be entered into a drawing. The lucky winner (picked on June 1) will receive a $500 Visa gift card. Fun, right?! Right now, we are accepting new client vacations departing after July 1 to Mexico, Walt Disney World and cruises all over. If you have any questions or want more info, email me at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com .
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
BRING ON MAY!!!!
We will start heating up our pool in May and making the most of the warm-ish days. I’m also super excited about this year’s skip days too! Every year, I take my big kids out of school early one day for a special one on one skip day. This is always a surprise to them (which day I pick), so it’s fun on so many levels.
You can read about last year’s HERE.
My April Book Review will be up on Monday! I read some really good books this month, friends! Stay tuned for that!! If you missed my March Book Review, you can see it here…
Make sure you read the comment section of the post for other recommendations too!
Also, Andrew told me to start watching this on Netflix…
…um, wow. It’s about a cult in Oregon back in the ’80s. Has anyone else watched this?!?! I can’t look away. Crazy fascinating!!!
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Well, now that we own The Greatest Showman, I feel like we’re listening to it 24/7.
These shorts and sandals on REPEAT…
Shorts + Sandals + Striped tee= my favorite spring/summer uniform!
I also love my shorts and sandals with a plain white tee and super cute necklace!
Or paired this way too…
And let me break it down for you…
#1: My light little Stella & Dot earrings. Mine are older, but they’re very similar to their Illusive Hoop Earrings.
#2: OPI polish in Alpine Snow. My fave.
#3: These fun bracelets from Stella & Dot! They are the Anda Strength, Nomad Stretch and Anda Courage.
#4: This super cute necklace that looks like two, but it’s actually only one. With that pop of turquoise, it’s the perfect little layering piece. Online it says green, but it’s VERY turquoise.
#5: The perfect white tee.
#6: The perfect layering tank to wear underneath.
#7: The perfect denim shorts.
#8: My favorite Tory Burch sandals
Also, my Little Black Dress from our Disney Cruise now comes in four other colors. I loved this one so much!!
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
It’s Catherine’s birthday! Woohoo! We’ll be celebrating big time on Saturday!!
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
The last month of school!!!!
BRING. ON. SUMMER!!
13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Well, I’m super pumped about being an aunt again. Baby Lowe #2 will be here before we know it. No one knows the baby’s gender. Any guesses? I’m thinking girl this time! What about you???
Bonus question this month: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MOTHER’S DAY GIFT TO GIVE?
I have gifted these personalized necklaces and bracelets for every occasion (Christmas, birthdays, mother’s day, graduation, etc). I’m obsessed with gifting these!
You order them right from Stella & Dot. Easy as that!
I also still use this little clutch all the time…
…it would make an excellent Mother’s Day gift too!
Okay! That’s What’s Up Wednesday today! If you blogged too, make sure you link up below. I hope you guys have a fantastic day!! xo

Happy Wednesday! How do you keep coats and shoes organized in your home? Do you have a mudroom? Do you store in bedroom closests, coat closets or the garage? I need a little inspiration! Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
We keep them stored in their closets except for one coat and one pair of shoes, that goes in our little backpack area (we have coat hooks and a place for shoes). Out in the garage, we have a big bin of “outside” shoes (old, yucky shoes they put on for playing outside).
Heather Bramlett says
Such a fun month! We are so looking forward to Summer over here, too! I love the coral Sam Edelman sandals!!
Dana says
I think WUW is one of my favorite posts. I’m thinking about gifting those vinegars for a good mother’s day present. They look yummy! Do they taste like vinegar or are they a little sweeter?
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re just a little sweeter. And you’re right! They would make an excellent Mother’s Day gift!!
Sheaffer Sims says
Can we skip over May and head straight into June?’ I’ll meet you at the pool!!!!
Narci Dreffs says
Oh, you had all kinds of great things today!! The vinegars, those darling sandals, the engravables!! How fun! Happy Wednesday!

jamie says
excited about your book review! i think catherine is having a boy. even though they are chosing to be surprised with the gender, yesterday on her IG stories she kept using the term boy so naturally {almost like she did know}…even though i know she doesn’t.
Mix and Match Mama says
Maybe you’re right?! I’m always wrong. I thought Samuel was a girl. Ha!
Amy says
FYI – You should use some of the blackberry vinegar to make Blackberry Vinegar Chicken. Pan saute chicken breast then add the vinegar to the pan juices…cook down for a minute and then pour over the chicken. It is so good. There are many detailed recipes out there with different variations.
Rebecca Jo says
I love a little clutch – that is a cute gift idea.
Have fun celebrating Catherine’s birthday this weekend!
Blackberry vinegar… that sounds amazing!!!
Lyette says
I never comment, but had to today. The Wild Wild Country city’s land has been a wonderful tool used by God. Today, it is two beautiful Young Life camps in which I came to Christ at. It is amazing, and shocking, to see what it was before and how God is there now.
Mix and Match Mama says
That is amazing!!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams says
Oh now I want to run out and buy those WS fruit vinegars to try with olive oil on salads. I’m always trying to decide what to dress basic salads at home with. Loving your summer outfit and I can’t believe it’s right around the corner since we just got into spring here in NY!

I recently came across your WUW posts, and I love them. What a great way to share new and exciting things and relate to a ton of other women in the blogging community! I’m OBSESSED with The Greatest Showman soundtrack…I’ve even caught my hubby belting it out before haha! I didn’t know you were related to Sean and Catherine, they are the cutest! Have fun celebrating her birthday this weekend. Such a fun post, thanks for sharing!
Mix and Match Mama says
So happy you are now stopping by, Lexi!!
Erin Chavez says
What size do you wear in the White T? I have been searching for one and this looks like it is what I need! For Mother’s Day, I got my mom and mother in law some Young Living Bath Bombs, and my mom a Young Living Mint Face Scrub. I have become obsessed with essential oils and love to spread my love anytime I can!
Mix and Match Mama says
xsmall and I love that gift idea!!
Heather says
I am ordering the blackberry vinegar today – what a great, healthy addition to a salad! What is your favorite Amy’s burrito or one you would recommend? I know there are several out there….
Can’t wait for your book review! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
There are so many, but the rice and bean ones are probably my go-tos. I like to add avocado on top. Yum!
Amanda @ That Inspired Chick says
I think I need to check out that show on Netflix! I need a new one. Excited for your book review!! That Inspired Chick
Kayla Bruce says
I LOVED Girl, Wash Your Face. I listened to it to and from New Mexico on our most recent trip– thanks for the great suggestion! And I think Baby Lowe #2 is another boy <3
Sara B. says
If you like the Amy’s burritos, you would probably like the Good Food Made Simple frozen burritos. The Meatball Marinara is my favorite, dipped in some marinara!!! Also I just read The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian. Have you read any of his books? I thought it was really good.
Mix and Match Mama says
Are they in the freezer section too???? That sounds so good!!
Sara B. says
Yes in the freezer section! At my store, they are right next to the Amy’s burritos!
Darcy says
It’s so funny you posted about that Netflix series….that ranch is now owned by the Washington family (huge supporters of youth), and it is now used as a YoungLife youth camp. Since it is so large (64,000 acres), they also run a large cattle herd there to manage the land and my husband is headed there tonight to AI them tomorrow. Small world!
Mix and Match Mama says
You should watch the show on Netflix!!
Tish Ferry says
I vote GIRL for Catherine! Mostly, because I would LOVE to see Sean with a little girl! He is so good with Samuel, a little girl would definitely have Daddy wrapped around her finger! And can you imagine a little girl as beautiful as Catherine?!? She’d be gorgeous!! Simply Tish
Mix and Match Mama says
Agreed! I would love to see that too!!!
GAIL says
I want to order that darling bracelet from Stella & Dot – do you have a friend that sells it? Never bought from them before!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!! Narci does!! Email me and I’ll connect you two!
Erica Gammon says
Amy’s Burritos??? Tell me more…..where can I get these?
Mix and Match Mama says
Freezer section! They are really good!! Plus, they have gluten free and vegan options for those who are looking for that sort of thing.
Erica Gammon says
Great! Can’t wait to try them! As a mom of two littles I need a quick and easy lunch.
Mrs B says
Dumb question … Do you wear a bra under the tank, or does it offer support?
Mix and Match Mama says
I wear a bra because there is no support!
Angela Ellingson says
So much goodness!! I’m going to hop on the girl train, too! Random, but does your dad have siblings? I know your mom just has one brother. Then you and Sean, obviously girl boy. Your first two kiddos, girl boy (even though that may not count as much because I think the dad determines the gender, right? How fun!
Mix and Match Mama says
He does! He has two older sisters. One has a girl and the other has one boy and one girl. I love patterns like that!
Mary says
I live in Oregon and watched the whole Rajneesh cult happen in real life in the 80’s. I would often see those people in red flowing gowns in the Portland airport. The leaders we’re violent and deranged. I sometimes wonder what happened to all the followers. Did they just go back to their normal lives after it all went bad?
Mix and Match Mama says
You should watch this on Netflix. When they interview one of the leaders, it always says “in an undisclosed location”.
Yley Allen says
That picture of Smith jumping into the pool is giving me life!! Can’t wait for Summer pool days! Great post.

I just love this idea!! Thanks for letting me be a part of What’s Up Wednesday!!
Barbara Parnell says
I’ve been wanting to try those vinegars from Williams Sonoma..they sound delcious! Will have to give them a try.
Priscilla says
Have you watched Royal Pains on Netflix? It’s set in the Hamptons. I have watched a couple of episodes. I am unsure!
Mix and Match Mama says
Nope, but I need to!!
Lucy says
Hi! I was just wondering if Smith was the one to reveal the second pregnancy to the family since Kensington got the honor first time around?
Mix and Match Mama says
You know…there wasn’t really a big reveal for the second pregnancy. Catherine accidentally blurted it out at dinner. Ha! So, I guess Catherine did the big reveal 😉 .
Carly says
I’m think BOY for Baby Lowe 2. Smith and Samuel can start to build their own team. I LOVE What’s Ip Wednesday’s! Thanks so much for sharing
Alva says
Money Heist on Netflix is great!!!
Megan says
We just finished Wild wild Country!! It’s crazy. The whole time my husband and we’re like, “what on the world??” The whole bizarre thing reminded me of that quote – how were all made to worship. And if it’s not Jesus, then we will worship something. Anyways, really interesting show! Pretty cool how the land was redeemed years later and is now a Young Life camp.
Chrystianne Santos says
I asked for your recommendation a few weeks on Tory Burch sandals and I was so happy with your suggestion! Took them on a cruise and the sand patent was a great choice! Thank you so much!!
Mother of 3 says
Is What’s Up Wednesday always the last Wed. of the month? I’ve been reading so many of these and just loving the prompts. I want to add it to my blog calendar so I remember to link up in May.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! We would love to have you join us!!
