Amazon This and That!

Raise your hand if you think to yourself “If I would have had/used Amazon when I had small babies at home, my life would have been so much easier!”.

Anyone?

My hand is up!

I mean…I’m sure Amazon was around 9 years ago when I had two babies at home, but for whatever reason, I wasn’t using it.  Now, I use it like every day!  From dog food to napkins to party supplies, birthday gifts, food, shirts, and so much more, I’m like “Oh, Ashby, you need glitter for a school project on Friday?  I’ll just Amazon it to myself and it will be here tomorrow!”.  So. Easy.

So, all I did today was scroll through my Amazon Order History and paste what I’ve been buying right here for you to see…because I don’t know about you, but I’m always intrigued by what others are buying online.  Anyone else?  The randomness just fascinates me 🙂 .

NATURE VALLEY COCONUT BISCUITS

A few weeks ago, I shared with you how much we love the Almond Butter version of these biscuits (we buy them in bulk at Costco), and several of you told me I should try the Coconut Butter ones.  Well, they weren’t at my grocery store, so I “primed” them to our house.  They’re already gone 🙂 .  These are so delicious!!  I like them in the afternoon with coffee…my kids like them as a snack.

THE MACARTHUR STUDY BIBLE

I love to do my quiet time with a study Bible or commentary right next to me.  This really helps you understand what you’re reading/broaden your knowledge/explain the Hebrew and Greek meanings and more.  I bought this one for a friend last week.  It’s probably my favorite!

PAPER MATE FLAIR

I love these maker/pen things!  I use them every day!!  I have an entire pack dedicated to my Bible study (I like to use different colors for different things) and then I have two packs at my desk.  I use them in my planner (they don’t bleed through anything!), on my travel work docs…I’m always using them.  I bought a new set because one set was getting a little dry…and mama likes bright, vivid colors 🙂 .

YOGA BLOCKS & STRAP

I needed to buy new yoga blocks the other day, so I bought this set on Amazon (I bought the purple set).  Love!

JAMES, MERCY TRIUMPHS

I’m currently working my way through this Bible study.  I bought it on Amazon!

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO ACE MATH IN ONE BIG FAT NOTEBOOK

Kensington’s math teacher told all of her students’ parents that this is her favorite book for kids to have…so, we bought it!  They have one for pretty much every subject and so far, Kensington has really loved flipping through and locating what she’s working on.  It really does seem to help her figure out the math they’re doing at school.  Her teacher said it will be a lifesaver in middle school.

KLORANE DRY SHAMPOO

Did you see my Winter Beauty Buys last week, this dry shampoo is my new favorite!

DIFFUSER

I had to buy another diffuser…because I gave my mom one of ours 🙂 .  She came over and was so curious about my post on oils that I gave her a diffuser and some oils from my stash.  She is now a true believer.  She’s diffusing while they sleep every night and even during the day when she’s at home.  To see my post on oils (and why you should diffuse too!), click HERE.  This is hands down my favorite diffuser!  You can turn the light off or switch between like 20 colors choices.

PACKING CUBES

Okay, we now have six sets of these packing cubes for our next vacation!  I think I’m going to use one color per day to make it super easy to pack and unpack while we’re gone.  These are game changers.  I really don’t think we’ll ever travel without them again!  (To see that post, click HERE.)

KRAFT PAPER

We love craft paper. My kids color on it, I use it to wrap gifts (then, my kids will color on it!), I use it when entertaining (you can write what each dish is and then set that dish next to it on the paper)…I mean, it does everything and we always have it “in stock” at home 🙂 .

CAN OPENER

The other day, I was cursing my can opener in my head because…it’s like 15 years old and wasn’t working.  Then, I thought, why be dumb and use an old/broken/rusty can opener, just buy another one.  And so, I primed myself this one and have happily opened cans ever since!

That’s my random Amazon assortment for your Monday!  Okay, do me a favor…comment and tell me the VERY LAST thing you Amazoned yourself.  My very last thing was: opaque tights in a size 4T.  Hahahaha!  I can’t wait to read what yours was!!

I wish Amazon did free international deliveries. It’s the only thing stopping me from ordering everything! (Which, come to think of it now, is probably a good thing, ha!) 😛

They will deliver free if you use the Amazon set up for your country and you’re a Prime member. For example, I live in Germany and use amazon.de and get free prime shipping all the time. See if there’s a site dedicated to your country. Hope this helps!

Ah that is so funny! Yesterday I was “amazon-ing” and I bought 5 items. Markers for my journal, trivets, place mats, a new pop socket and phone case! And then an hour later, I bought a tool crock, sonic toothbrush heads, arts and craft scissors, and a book.

Annnnd then, a couple later I decided to buy stencils for my journal and 2 keto items.

Ok, and then, literally an hour ago I woke up and my knee started hurting. So I bought a knee brace, and then ended up buying house slippers, a calligraphy notebook along w pens, and then another book.

Needless to say, I’m obsessed w Amazon prime 😂

Thank-you notes (a cute boxed set by Graphique with a giraffe on the front) and a postpartum belly wrap. Never tried one before but it had good reviews! Just had a baby, so it’s time to write all the thank-you notes and hopefully whittle down my tummy.

This was a fun post — thanks!

And belatedly, I have to say I was glad to read you guys enjoyed the Peppa Pig Chinese New Year episode. When I saw it the other day, I immediately thought of your family! (My kids are big Peppa fans too. So am I!)

Well…if I count my subscribe and save items (if you don’t do this, I highly recommend—it is like Costco delivered to your door!) it was a pack of Kind bars. If I don’t count those, then it was a 6 pack of remote controlled LED puck lights. So random! 🙂

    • Reply Jenn February 17, 2019 at 12:17 pm

When my kids were young, we loved these (meaning Daddy and I, not kids). The best thing I ever did was make a jar for everyone for their allowance for the week in dollars and quarters. You didn’t met your deadline for a chore, go take out 25 or 50 cents. (but you still have to do it). Smarty pants or slow and making everyone late, go take out 25 or 50 cents. You got the same amount as your age for a week. It’s a shocker to them how quickly their $ dissipates – and bonus, they learn how to count it much more quickly! Good luck!

This seems so random, but is one of my new favorite things. I just primed this: https://www.amazon.com/Drop-Stop-Original-Patented-Filler/dp/B00BYH6C1E
It blocks the gap between the front seats of your car and the center console. I would constantly drop my cell phone, chapstick, coins, etc. and then have to awkwardly search with a flashlight for them later. Someone mentioned that they received this product as a gag gift at a White Elephant exchange, and I was like, “Wait- I would really like that gift!” 🤣. It has been life changing in the week or so that I’ve had it. No more missing/dropped items in the car = Mom Win!

Mine are 3 and 1 and I’ve used it a ton, including subscribe and save for the diapers, wipes and cream. I also recommend to friends who are expecting their first not to overdo it on the baby products before the baby since you can get anything in a day or two when you realize you need it! You just never know what your baby will actually like. 🙂

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama February 11, 2019 at 7:39 am

I can tolerate that stuff, so I’m probably not the one to ask. I love it!

    • Reply Jen February 11, 2019 at 10:06 am

BEV – I’ve found the more “pure” the scent, the less it should bother you. Look for the best quality oil you can get. Cheaper versions often use imitation scents or fragrances (lavender is particularly troublesome). Start with a simple, one-note oil (one element only) and then you can work your way up to blends as you find what you can tolerate. Good luck!

I ordered Valentine craft ribbon to put on our flocked tree to make it look Valentinesy 🥰 and two books…”The Gospel Comes with a House Key” by Rosaria Butterfield and the book “The Best Yes” by Lydia Terkeurst.

Tom’s of Maine coconut bar soap. This soap will leave your skin so soft and smells AMAZING!! Habersham wax vessell bowl in Harvest Spice. It has scents of pumpkin, cinnamon, and clove. I leave mine out all year long. Your house will smell so good. You can also purchase these at Cape Candle.com. They come in other scents as well. Lastly, I’m a little late in posting, but you mentioned during one of you recent ski trip blogs that you had found a great pair of comfortable leggings. Let me introduce you to STARFISH leggings at Lands End.com They are the most comfortable leggings, come in petite length and wash extremely well. I wear them ALL THE TIME. Check them out. Enjoy!!!

This is so fun-last thing I ordered was echo dot for my youngest. He loves it! My friend and I still laugh about the MOST random orders we had one month on Amazon…it was Spring and I had to order a kids black turtle neck! and she had to order an ABE LINCOLN beard! This is because our kids had a “living history” project at school and were dressing up as Steve Jobs and Abe Lincoln. I mean, before Amazon, where on earth could you find an Abe Lincoln beard not near Halloween? PS-I LOVE those pens…have been using them on my Erin Condren planner for years now. The best!

I love Amazon Prime. We’ve been members since I was pregnant with my oldest so about 7 years. 3 kids later, we are big fans. What does slightly annoy me about Amazon, is that sometimes there are “fake” items and less than stellar of quality items. Thank goodness for returns.

Ok, two things in my order: “Oasis Dust It Powder” – you sprinkle a little anywhere you want to tease your hair and it will NEVER move… you guys, I have the thinnest, hair (but a TON of it) and sprays don’t do anything! This powder is LIFE!!!!! and second “Melissa & Doug Water WOW – I’m sure all moms know about these but if you don’t: travel life saver for toddlers!!!! It’s a pad of 5-6 pages and a paint brush that you fill with water; the kids just paint water all over the paper and colors show up! Then it dries, and they can re-“color”

I just Primed a case for my Apple TV remote because I’m so tired of losing that little thing in the couch cushions everyday! (It’s the worst Apple-designed product! What were they thinking??) Can’t wait for the case to arrive today. 🙂

I got CyberClean cleaning putty for my husband, a storage bin (our pantry got a makeover!) for me – cute kitchen pantry labels for my Oxo containers, and a pink rope toy for our Maltese! Everyone’s happy! 🙂 I’m this close to ordering me some cushy house shoes. Oh, and if you love those Paper Mate color pens (always been my fave) you’d love this gel pen set, every color imaginable in a glitzy zip up pouch. Christmas gift to my daughter and her bestie (in their 20’s). I had to get me a set too. LOVE, the pens write like butter!

I love this post Shay! Keep the coming! Ironically the last two things I Amazon primed myself were your suggestions! I bought more packing cubes for our Disney vacation last week and plan on using them again for our Disney Cruise in May. I had used packing cubes before here and there but never for ALL of our clothes. I loved having everything in a packing cube! I also just bought the kid’s eating trays you use for your kids and we used them for the first time this morning at breakfast and my twins loved having their own little placemat! Aside from Amazon purchases I just bought myself a pair of the Athleta leggings (in the bright green color) per your recommendation and I’ve worn them 2 days in a row and just bought the pinkish-purple color last night online bc I need to live in these leggings. SO comfortable, amazing quality and they suck you in at all the right places! I always thought I was a Zella and Lululemon girl for leggings but Athleta now has my heart! 🥰 what would I do without you?! Lol!

The last thing ordered was a Snuggle Puppy that you put in the crate with puppy and it has a pouch to insert a heating pad and a battery operated heart beat. Supposed to help calm them and mimic being with another puppy. Ton of good reviews – one of the things I love most about amazon! Reviews!
