5 Minute Makeup with only 6 Products!


Hi friends!  Happy THURSDAY!!

So, here’s what I decided to do…I went into my bathroom, pulled out the six tarte products I already owned and did my entire makeup with just those six products in UNDER FIVE MINUTES!  From beginning to end…it’s easy to get ready in the morning when you have the right beauty products within reach.

I already had their SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER, BREEZY CREAM BRONZER, AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH, TARTLETTE MATTE EYE SHADOW PALETTE, SURF CURL VOLUMIZING MASCARA and COLOR SPLASH LIPSTICK, so I pulled them out and did my entire makeup for the day using only these products.  And guess what?  I loved it!  It was quick, easy and super convenient only using six things!  It’s the perfect little makeup routine for a busy mom.

Here’s a closeup of the “after”!  Concealer, check!  Bronzer, check!  Blush, check!  Eye shadow (which I also used for eyeliner!), check!  Mascara, check!  And lipstick, check, check!

After I put on my makeup, I did my hair and…

Here’s a little breakdown of each product:
AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH: This is their 12 hour blush.  It goes on smoothly and lasts all day!  I have it in the shade dazzled.
COLOR SPLASH LIPSTICK: Who doesn’t love a creamy neutral lipstick?!  It automatically goes with everything and is hydrating (not drying!)  I have it in Pink Sands.
TARTLETTE MATTE EYE SHADOW PALETTE: Really and truly, all you need is one palette with neutral shades.  You can use a little or layer for a nighttime/dramatic eye.  Plus, you can use the darker shade as a liner too.  I used Super Mom and Natural Beauty in the video along with Fashionista for my liner.
SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER: See below for a story about this product!  There is a reason this is a cult classic…it truly is amazing!  I used extra in the video to blend in in lieu of foundation!  It’s a quick makeup trick when you’re in a hurry and/or using fewer products.  I have it in light-med (29n).
SURFER CURL VOLUMIZING MASCARA: Well, I told you about this amazing mascara back in January!  It’s the only one I’ve used all year long!  It lengthens and gives volume.  Win, win, win!
BREEZY CREAM BRONZER: Okay, I bought this in April and have been loving it!  Before this product, I’ve always used a powder bronzer, but now, I see the benefits to cream too!  It’s really easy to blend, a little goes a long way and if you’re not wearing a lot of makeup and just want a nice light glow, this will do it!  I have it in Seychelles.

Okay, let’s talk about the Shape Tape concealer for one bit before we go.

And one more thing before I say goodbye…on March 3rd, my kids had a normal day at school and then that night, all six of us went up there for their annual Open House.  We visited their classrooms, saw their desks and schoolwork and then hugged every teacher goodbye because we were leaving the next morning for Hawaii so we wouldn’t see them again until after spring break…and we never went back.  Now, six months to the day later, we go back to the school but this time, I’m dropping off a different set of three kids.  Instead of Kensington, Smith and Ashby…I’m dropping off Smith, Ashby and Madeley for their first “in person” day of school, and Kensington, will be dropped off at her new middle school.  INSERT ALL OF THE EMOTIONS HERE.  I have no idea how long this will last…maybe one day, maybe one week, maybe one month…maybe, they’ll stay in school the entire year.  I don’t know?  What I do know is that I have been so impressed with our district and schools thus far this year with three weeks of virtual learning…SO IMPRESSED, and if we end up back at home, so be it.  In the meantime, I have FOUR super excited kids this morning as they’re all setting out on new adventures…six months in the making.  Happy first day back to many of you too!

      Are you planning to do any vacation recaps from your trip to Hawaii?? I know at the time you wanted to be sensitive to all that was happening, but I would definitely love a glimpse into your trip while I’m still stuck at home!

    I am not sure if you have tried Tarte’s Light, Camera and Splashes waterproof mascara, but it has been my favorite waterproof mascara for pool days!

    In Indiana, we’ve been in “person” at our kids’ private Christian School for almost 3 weeks… I have 2 kids in quarantine after the first covid case (an entire sports team was quarantined), but the school is just doing an amazing job of communicating and making sure my kids have what they need… I’m so thankful! and my kids have no symptoms.. this is a blip..but, I’m very thankful for them to go to “real” school… they missed and their mental health is so much better for it! God has got them!

    I am thrilled for your kiddos!!! I know the parents in our neighborhood are thrilled the kids are back in school as well, mostly for a little peace and quiet right?! haha But really I know all of the kids missed each other and need some ‘normal’ back in their lives! Prayers for everything to continue on like this for a while 🙂

    Does the concealer settle into lines? I don’t currently wear concealer because I feel like it accentuates the lines under my eyes.

      I honest to goodness don’t think so! I like the consistency because it’s a little on the thick side which I think is easier to apply sparingly than when it’s really thin and you have to apply more to over-compensate.
