Also, today is a special day for me because…14 years ago today, I started a blog 🙂 .
Fourteen years?!
That’s a really long time! If you would have asked me then if I would still be doing it in 14 years, I would have said no way. Who was going to read my blog for 14 years? What would I have to say? What would I be posting about?
I’ve said this before (you can read more about it HERE), but I started this blog during the darkest part of my life. I was trying so desperately to get pregnant. I had just had a miscarriage. I was working at a job I didn’t love. I felt lonely. I felt sad. I needed something to do that was all mine and gave me a little joy…so I started a blog. I had no way of knowing then that the little blog I was starting would end up being one of the biggest blessings in my life. It’s become a full-time job that I love, a place to document all of my memories and has connected me with all of you. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t thank Jesus for the opportunity and the platform. My hope and prayer is that you come to this little corner of the internet for some sunshine every day and find it. God bless you all for stopping by day after day. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I love this little community so very much. xx Shay

Amazing to see how God provides during those dark days!!

It really is an amazing phenomena of our generation isn’t it !? Maybe an equivalent would be that ladies in generations past would read a certain newspaper column every day from their favorite lady author or something …. But for years each weekday morning I’ve come to read from you – a lady I probably will never cross paths with until eternity. It’s so funny !!!! 🙂 but it really is part of my weekday routine ha and I can’t even remember how or when it started it’s been so many years. You’ve grown the blog and social media presence so much ! And it’s a joy to follow u. I pray for you to keep shining and keep the Lord center in your life heart and mind and I know He will continue to use you in the lives of others 🙂 . Thanks for sharing your life !!!! <3

It makes me sad how often you do these now. I love reading blogs bc I have a hearing loss, I can’t do podcasts.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh, I’m so sorry that the weekly podcasts don’t work for you! I’m working on trying to get transcripts of the episodes too.
Erin says
Will share your favorite enneagram books?
Mix and Match Mama says
I should have linked my original post where I talk about it! It’s right here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2021/04/enneagram/
Cait says
Have you had your kids take the test or do you have any guesses on which types they would be?
Mix and Match Mama says
So everything I read says that your Enneagram number is developed through childhood (based on experiences, trauma, etc), so I don’t know theirs. That being said, I feel very confident that Smith will be a 1, Kensington will be an 8, Madeley will be a 7 and Ashby will be a 6.
Monica Stoleson says
Your blog is the first thing I read every morning. I enjoy everything about it!! It is exactly like you said, It’s my little piece of sunshine. Your the sweetest, kindest and a Godly encouragement to me daily!! ♥️??
Amy Ackerman says
I listened to the enneagram podcast. We have all taken the test at work. My boss is an 8, my husband is an 8 and I am a 6! Haha! I do have a lot of 5,7,& 8 in me too! I find it all very interesting. I enjoyed listening to you and Erika discuss it. Also, your friendship is so sweet and encouraging.
