It’s Podcast Tuesday!
Friends, today’s episode will be the most dramatic in podcast history because… Erika and I are BREAKING DOWN THE BACHELOR!
Well, we’re really actually just breaking down my experience as this guy’s sister while he was a contestant on the Bachelorette and you know…that season he WAS the Bachelor. Erika and I had zero thoughts about recording a podcast episode on this topic, but so many of you requested it, sent in emails and/or DMs, so we put it out on Stories asking if you really wanted us to break down a topic from 9 years ago and the answer was overwhelmingly YES! I purposely didn’t look back at old blog posts prior to recording this episode because I wanted to go in fresh and speak from my memory and not my posts. I tried really hard to get all of the details correct, but you know…it was nine years ago, so if I missed something, forgive me. Speaking of that, I mention in the episode that none of the married couples have gotten divorced and even name Ashley and JP specifically…but then my friend told me that yeah, they have gotten divorced, so I’m sorry about that detail too (I don’t keep up, so I didn’t know!).
Needless to say, I’m doing my best today, and we hope you love it! Whether you watched the show or not, I hope you listen to us chat!
I reference a lot of really old blog posts and things in this episode, so if you’re looking for that content, here’s a bit of it:
That time we all went to Thailand to film an episode 😉 .
My recap of Sean and Catherine’s wedding PART 1…
…PART 2 of their wedding recap!
That time Sheaffer and I actually went to a taping of The Men Tell All.
I also wanted to share some pics of people I mention in the episode too. After 9 years, it really was fun to go back and reminisce and think about this amazing, unique, incredible season in our family’s lives…
The brilliant Cassie (former executive producer and “handler” for each lead), Executive Producer Alycia, me and producer Katie who all took great care of us all of those years ago!
The one and only Elan Gale. I loved hanging out with this guy so much.
Chris Harrison absolutely made my 31st birthday!
Speaking of which, the night before your brother’s wedding, when your husband, Elan Gale and Chris Harrison all go down to the bar together, the next morning, your Twitter looks like this…
Oh Trista Sutter, I love you. We still send each other Christmas cards each and every year. She is one in a million.
Deep breaths…let’s all walk down the aisle on primetime live television with millions of people watching…
My dad…the ROCKSTAR of the night (listen to the episode to hear why!)…
It was SUCH a fun time…
You can listen to the episode HERE or on your favorite podcast platform (iTunes, Spotify, etc).

My daughter worked on this wedding. They planned for months, it was one of her favorite bachelor gigs.

This was so fun Shay! I love the podcast and each week its such a fun surprise to see what you’re talking about. I actually got to know who Sean was through YOU! I had stopped watching the Bachelor years before his season. Also, Ashley and JP just recently got divorced so I think your statement of the genuine relationships still counts because they were together for so long.

I put that on today’s post because I didn’t hear about it until after I recorded this episode. Thank you for understanding my sentiment! I really do think the show is REAL which is crazy cool.

I’m so happy you guys discussed how all the new girls seem to just want to be influencers. It doesn’t feel genuine anymore! I hope the producers are able to find a way around the new contestants just wanting to be Insta-famous

CANNOT WAIT to listen to this!

This was such a fun episode to record! It feels like we were just gathering for watch parties, doesn’t it?
