Happy Tuesday, friends!
I have a little LIFE LATELY for you 🙂 .
The weather has felt very SPRINGY lately! After school, it’s all outdoor activities (like jump roping) and ice cream! The kiddos are basically riding their bikes until dark now too. We are LOVING this weather!
What else are we loving?
Sally Hepworth came to town!!! Oh my word, if you’ve been following on Instagram, I’ve basically been gushing about this visit nonstop for days now. Sally stopped in McKinney on her US book tour last Thursday, and the entire event was nothing short of magical. It was truly just one of my VERY best evenings!
I am so thankful for so many sweet friends (both ones I know personally and ones who follow my blog here!) who came out to meet Sally and support this book signing at…
…Sharla’s on our historical town square 🙂 . Sharla is a McKinney institution. Her shop has been on our square for years and years and years. She’s an entrepreneur, a working mom and grandmother, she’s launched her own cosmetics and skincare line, she’s constantly hosting and volunteering for things in our community…she is a true gem. When Sally and her publisher asked me where they should host the event, I immediately thought of her boutique. She hosted with the hospitality and graciousness you would expect from a true Southern lady. I simply cannot say enough about her generosity before, during and after the event.
Agh!!!! After being friends online for almost 10 years, we finally met in person!!!!! We squealed and screamed. Ha! It was such a dream come true!
Sally Hepworth is such a rock star.
After an amazing event at Sharla’s, we headed across the square for a beautiful dinner at Harvest…
…where we were spoiled rotten by their owner and employees. They truly gave Sally the Texas experience. Of course, she couldn’t leave town without a hug from Andrew and some Dallas Cowboys swag too 😉 .
After a HUGE and amazing Thursday, we enjoyed girl time on Friday while the boys headed to Nashville for the night with Tab, Nixon, Gary and Drew (and Shanna! 😉 )…
…Kensington had her annual athletics physical on this day (in order to play sports in middle school next school year), so we did that along with lunch and a bit of shopping. That night, she had big plans to celebrate Ebby Lee’s birthday which meant…
…it was just the three of us. We had the BEST night! In fact, when we snuggled into bed together that evening, Ashby said, “Mom, this was the best ‘little girls’ day ever!”. Awwwwww! That made my heart melt. We had sushi for dinner at a neighborhood spot followed by a nice long bike/scooter ride around our neighborhood, popcorn in our pjs, and then we snuggled into my bed and watched My Father the Hero. It was the perfect way to spend a Friday night!
My tulips from Trader Joe’s (remember on yesterday’s post!) are looking so good!!! They make me happy when I see them.
Spring weather means biking to school! The (biker) gang’s all here!
How sweet is this selfie?! It made me smile so big when I found it!
Smith helps me take the girls to school some days when the weather is nice. They love him BIG TIME and are always so excited when their older brother gets them to school.
That’s a bit of life lately.
And then finally, one more thing for your Tuesday…
…Erika and I had a technical issue with this week’s episode. Boo. I’m sorry to all of you who listen each week! We will be back next week!
That wraps up my Tuesday. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL DAY!!

Okay…..so I started The Good Sister late last night!!!!!! Problem is, I started it really late, and I was super tired, so I only got like 5 pages in before I just couldn’t keep my eyes open. BUT THE POINT IS, I OPENED UP A BOOK AND STARTED READING. I’ll keep you posted. 🙂

You are in a neat season — “big” kid stuff AND “little” kid stuff. Lucky Momma!!

This is random but has your family watched Rescued by Rudy on Netflix? Such a cute movie for all ages. I watched it with my 3rd grade class and we all loved it. My 23 year old daughter also watched it and thought it was great too. Have a great week, Shay!

Shay, I follow Preppy Empty Nester blog. Katie is so precious and has a wonderful sense of humor. She and her husband have moved to McKinley within the last year. I recall they have a daughter there as well. I hope you will have the opportunity to meet her.

I won’t lie about being disappointed about no bestie breakdown this morning, I must recommend Youtubeing Walt Disney Resort TV as your background music replacement….I think you’d really enjoy it!

I love that Sally visited you in McKinney! Actually, you are the reason I am now a Sally fan. You recommended Secrets of Midwives back in 2015 and I’ve read every book since! I lived in the US for 14 years but I’m back home in Australia now and hope to see Sally when she does her next book tour, hopefully at the end of the year with her next book!
