You guys, happy, happy Thursday!
My brain is so stuffed full of holiday things that I can barely think straight today!
It’s December 7th and in case anyone was keeping tabs, I haven’t addressed all of my cards, finished my shopping or made a dent in my wrapping. I have though watched at least 20 Hallmark Christmas movies…
…I’m 41 now. I feel no shame at 41. I am who I am. #priorities
On tap today, a lot of THURSDAY THINGS because ’tis the season for FUN!
First up…

A $10 minimum for TEN AWESOME YEARS CELEBRATING YOU!
Again, make sure you check out yesterday’s post for all of the specifics!! WE CAN DO IT, FRIENDS!!!!!
Whew!
How do you follow up that?!
Perhaps a little holiday orchestra concert for you…
…on Monday night, Smith has his annual holiday orchestra concert and well, we just couldn’t be more proud of this kid.
When he was seven years old, he set out to learn to play the violin “like Charlie Daniels” and well, he’s gettin’ there 😉 …
…here he is the day of his first lesson (remember when FOR YEARS Smith had to have some sort of clothing on him that was orange?! agh! Where did that baby go?!).
Our family would not be complete without this lady here…
…who is another mother to my boy. She is in our home every week. She has seen each of us through our good days and our bad. Our surgeries. Our house flooding. Our highs and our lows. She came over to teach our seven year old how to play the violin and now, she’s family. Look at them together! When did he get SO BIG?!
You guys!
He’s almost 13…
…I mean to tell ya. That was yesterday.
Next up this Thursday…
…it’s my annual ALL ABOUT HOLIDAY APPETIZERS post!
I don’t know about you, but we eat appetizers all season long! If you haven’t looked at all of my yummy bites and little eats, make sure you check out THIS POST today!
Here are just a few ways we enjoy our appetizers during the holiday season:
1: As a meal while watching a holiday movie.
2: As part of my annual recipe exchange (except this year, we have a new theme…TBA!).
3: On Christmas Eve! Andrew’s family always enjoyed appetizers on Christmas Eve instead of the big traditional meal and now, my family as adopted that too!
4: With drinks for simple holiday get togethers.
I have all of the appetizers you need this season (with complementary cocktails too!) in ONE POST!
Finally, last but certainly not least, my FAVORITE skincare brand reached out to collaborate with me again because…
…it’s their ‘TIS THE SEASON SALE!
I always love partnering with Colleen Rothschild, but I especially love it when they’re amazing products are on sale! Right now, they’re offering up to 50% off select gifts and 20% off everything else!
Let me first remind you that this is the favorite skincare of both my mom and myself. In fact, it was my mom who really encouraged me to give it a try several years ago, and I haven’t looked back. I’ve loved everything I’ve purchased over the years, but these items here are my tried and true faves…
These are the products that I use every day:
I don’t know about you, but give me all the products with retinol. Their eye serum is highly effective without drying out the thin and sensitive skin under my eyes.
This is a rock star right here! This serum works overtime to correct, resurface, smooth and hydrate my skin.
My daily moisturizer! This is my go-to every morning either alone or under my makeup.
I hate to play favorites, but this balm is without a doubt, my #1 pick and what I tried first when purchasing from Colleen Rothschild. This doesn’t just clean my skin and remove all of my makeup (easily!), but it’s so hydrating too! Now that I’ve used this for years, I cannot imagine using anything else on my skin.
My daily AM eye cream! It’s hydrating and firming while also easy to layer under my concealer.
And finally, my PM moisturizer! This keeps my skin hydrated and works overtime at night while I sleep.
If you’re traveling soon or want to try their products but in smaller sizes, make sure you check out…
…it’s the Discovery Collection! This bag includes an assortment of all of Colleen Rothschild’s most popular products in smaller, travel-sized bottles PERFECT for traveling or for trying her line for the first time! I take this with me on every trip because it’s all I need for great skincare but in smaller bottles. If you’ve been hesitant to purchase any full-size bottles, this is the kit for you! Right now, this is on MAJOR SALE for only $69 (a $150 value!!). Over the years, I bet I’ve purchased at least four (maybe five?!) of these to take with me on trips. The sizes are perfect, and it has something for your entire routine. This is a great way to try out the products if you’re hesitant to purchase full size items.
Other gifts on sale right now 50% OFF are…
You can see even more gifts up to 50% off HERE too, plus, everything else is 20% off right now.
So much to be merry about this Thursday!
Alright, this is it…head HERE TO DONATE TO ST. JUDE!!! When you visit THIS LINK, you’ll see donation buttons for $30 and up, but there is also an “OTHER” button. The OTHER button can be used to for donations starting at just $10.

Happy Thursday!! You guys are doing amazing things for St. Jude! So awesome!! And slow down time-baby Smith!!!! 😍😍😍
Sheaffer says
7 year old Smith with the violin makes me want to bawl my eyes out. And have you tried the CR lip kit? IT’S SOOOOOO GOOD!
Erin says
Thank you for fundraising for the children and families of St. Jude. This organization is near to my heart as my cousin lost her 7 year son to rhabdomyosarcoma in 2021. Thank you for bringing awareness to this awesome organization who never stops fighting to find cures so one day, no other children are families are affected by these awful diseases!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Erin, I’m so sorry for your family. God bless you all this holiday season. xx
Marla says
I’m so sorry for your loss Erin. My prayers for you and your family.
MelanieL says
I can’t wait to make of couple of those appetizers for my sister’s birthday later this month, they will go well with our soup! And I have to say, seeing Smith in your stories yesterday talking about St. Jude made me tear up…my boy is 16, way taller than me and just the sweetest person I know. It all happens so fast. My daughter is 18 and will be graduating in May so I’m a bit emotional! 🙂
Dena says
The first picture of Smith outside of the high school he looks so much like your husband!
Also, thank you for fundraising for St. Jude! Every year I raise money to do the walk/run here in the Washington DC area. They are such an amazing group and help so many children!
Marla says
Shay, thank you for being so passionate about St Jude. It truly is a remarkable place.
Would you mind sharing with me your moms skincare routine and her favorite products ? That’s if she doesn’t mind of course .
Happy Christmas Season !
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Marla, you know you’re one of my favorites!! She uses the same products as me along with also using Retinol Night Oil too. My mom is very basic with her routine. I would say she even uses the Sheer Renewal Cream both day and night most often.
Michele says
Oh my WORD, it’s Andrew’s TWIN. He’s so grown up. Thanks for sharing your family with us all these years. I feel like we could all go hang out in a coffee shop together…kinda like a Hallmark Movie. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I would LOVE that!! The ultimate compliment, Michele!
WhittyWife (Lindsay) says
Okay, I’m finally trying out Colleen Rothschild… most of your recs plus the Face Oil No 9 for my super dry skin! 😊 How long would you say those products last for you, using them daily?
Mix and Match Mama says
Lindsay, you’ll love the oil!! It’s so light and yet so hydrating. I probably replenish every 3 to 4 months on most items, but some items (like the cleansing balm) last much longer (7 months or so!). You’ll be able to stretch the oil too and if you buy the serum and use it once a day, that will last much longer too.
Tracy Abraham says
You must be really busy as today is Thursday, December 8th. 😂😂
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh for the love. Agh!
Susie Harrold says
Recs for the CR skin care-
I’m in my 50s
If I can only get 1-2 things, which would you recommend?
Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I would say the Retinol eye cream and the serum.
