Happy Thursday, friends!
Today, I’m partnering with MY VERY FAVORITE BRAND…ATHLETA and Shop Style Collective because right now, you can get 20% off your entire purchase between now and the 23rd!!
I wear Athleta every single day…
From running to yoga, grocery shopping, driving carpool and even layering up and heading out and about, I wear Athleta every single day of my life (and have been for over 10 years!!!). It’s my go-to brand for working out, walking the dogs, playing with kids, sitting all cute and comfy at my desk, driving carpool, heading to my kids’ sporting events. It just works for every aspect of my life. They have so many great items in sizes XXS to 3X! It’s clothing designed to transition from workout to work to the weekend. I always find that it runs TTS too!
Yesssss! And now, both colors are on sale!
I bought this sweater and wore it twice in Park City. I wore it the first night we were there to dinner, and then I loved it so much (and thought it was so comfortable), that I wore it on the flight home too. This isn’t workout wear…this is just a really, really nice sweater that you can wear to work, the movies, dinner…wherever! It comes in other colors too!
Yes, please! I now have this top in four colors. On chilly days, it’s all I need when I head out the door to run or walk my dogs.
These fleece leggings are the WARMEST. I love them so much and that I bought a second pair just so I don’t have to wait until I wash them to wear them again. Not only do I love them…
…but I bought them for my girls too!
From early morning yoga to school drop off, running errands and working from home all day, I love when I’m in head to toe Athleta like my MOTO LEGGINGS (love these!)//TANK, SPORTS BRA and INLET JACKET!
Don’t forget, get 20% off your entire purchase right now!
Since we’re talking January/resolutions/working out/being active/staying fit today, I thought I’d tackle a few of your fitness related questions.
Just a reminder, I’m not a fitness expert AT ALL. I’m just a busy lady who loves to be active.
I personally think getting started is the hardest part. Whether it’s a new class or a new activity or just starting for the first time, new things are hard/scary/difficult sometimes. I would say my #1 tip is to make sure what you’re trying to do honestly and realistically fits into your schedule. If you know you’re not a morning person, then I wouldn’t try to workout in the morning (if you’re never going to make it there and always beat yourself up about it). If you know you hate running, don’t run. If you know you have this crazy energy at night, look for a night class. I think it’s all well and good to think “I will wake up every morning and exercise”, but if that truly does not fit into your schedule or your lifestyle, then find another time that does work.
Well, I don’t know that I did. You can go back in the archives here on my blog and check out loads of “pregnant Shay” content and you’ll see, I was just doing “my best”. I worked out about 4 days a week with each pregnancy…but I also don’t think anyone would have called me “fit”. I think when you’re pregnant, you have a daunting enough task of just growing a baby, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Walk, take a swim, or seriously, nap. Do what your body needs to do. Being fit shouldn’t really be a goal when you’re pregnant…being a healthy carrier for you baby is more like it.
I do not ever wear socks with shoes. Period. End of story. I don’t even wear socks with my winter boots when I’m out in the snow. Socks annoy me. They get bunched up. They squeeze my toes. I prefer foot freedom in there 😉 .
Typically, I run 4 days a week…of course, sometimes my weeks look different, but that’s the “norm” right now.
Neither of us follow macros or stick to any certain “diet” or food lifestyle other than, we eat gluten-free at home.
Well, I’m totally posting this comment because it’s so nice. Bahahahaha! My body has totally changed. I started this blog when I was 25…I’m now 41. A LOT HAS CHANGED. I would say that even though I was working out and lifting weights back in the day, I wasn’t lifting heavy enough weights (I like to lift heavy now!). For me, running+yoga+lifting weights is the perfect combination for this stage in my life.
I workout while they’re sleeping 🙂 . If my peeps are awake, there is a 99% chance that I won’t get my workout in.
I personally think that a “runner’s high” is real. If you’ve tried running and aren’t feeling motivated/excited/that “high”, I’m going to guess running isn’t your thing…so move on. I think the worst thing we can do is force ourselves to do something (exercise-wise) that we hate. WE WILL NEVER KEEP IT UP. I love to run. I love yoga. I do those things! I do not love spinning classes at the gym, so I don’t do those any more. If you feel like you might enjoy it but aren’t “there” yet, make sure you check out MY GUIDE TO RUNNING for more ways to do it and love it.
That wraps up this Thursday! If you have any other questions you’d like me to answer, drop them in the comment section. I’m off to grab a few more Athleta pieces now at 20% off! Don’t forget, this sale ends on the 23rd!
