Hey, hey Thursday!
Guess what?
I’m headed out with my friends today on our annual girls trip 🙂 !
While I’m away, I’ll still be blogging, so make sure you come back. Maybe I’ll even do a bonus post about our trip too?!
Stay tuned 🙂 .
In the meantime…
…last week, I shared how I took our medicine cabinet and updated it (CLICK HERE TO SEE!) after realizing it was a giant mess and my lazy self needed to get it together.
(Anyone else find themselves purging/cleaning/organizing a ton this time of year?!)
Well another space in my house that’s recently been purged and cleaned is…
…my pantry.
Two years ago, I shared the inside of our pantry and well, it hasn’t changed at all. (You can read that post HERE with pics of inside our fridge too!)
I mean, it was fine but not fabulous (as you can see!).
Over Christmas break though, Braiden who works part-time here for me called one day and said she and her boyfriend were bored at home (she is a senior at Clemson University and they were in town visiting family). She said they wanted to use their engineering minds on something at my house. I was like “what do you have in mind” and she said “can we tackle your pantry?”.
Um, yes. Yes, please.
Fast forward seven hours later…and they had completely emptied my entire pantry and put it back together again but better.
Take a look at the BEFORE…
and now, check out the AFTER…
…um, hello?! Isn’t it SO MUCH BETTER?!?!
Now, I took these new pictures just Tuesday, so even though it’s been six weeks, the Shull fam has kept it nice and organized. I feel like that’s worth celebrating too, no?
Here are a lot of pics of our space…
I’m just SO PLEASED!!!!
A huge thank you to my favorite two engineering students who decided my pantry would be a fun project 🙂 . What happens when two people studying material science engineering with chem minors need a project? You welcome them in and hand them your credit card. 🙂
I wish I could link all of the specifics, but they brought me back receipts from several stores (Target, Home Goods and Walmart). Who knew I needed so many lazy susans in my life?! Between using them here and in the medicine cabinet, I’m shocked with how helpful they are!
A love a tidy house. Thank you, Braiden and Zach! Next time, I’m going to let you tackle Kensington’s room. Bring your hazmat suits…
Okay, I’m off with my girlfriends but back here tomorrow. See you then! xx

Next time Braiden and her boyfriend are bored and near Virginia, have them call me!
Our last child is off to college in a few years (I’m not rushing it) and I’m making notes of all the things I would enjoy in a forever home. It’s nice having a large kitchen now, but I would actually like a little smaller kitchen that is open to several spaces and a large walk in pantry. I like your space and the fancy light, so cool!
Enjoy your girls trip! Our youngest daughter and I are hitting the road this weekend to visit two of our three college kids; my husband is working so she is telling her friends she is taking a girls trip with her mom. So sweet!

Love your pantry! What color of paint is your back wall? It’s beautiful and calming.
Mix and Match Mama says
I should know this, but I painted it so long ago that I do not. I’m sorry!

What a win with 2 college students needing a project! Can you imagine what their homes will be like some day? Lazy susan’s & bins are the best for corralling items. Looks like this system is working great for your family.
I too have a daughter that collects and hoards everything she has ever received. I gave up while she was in high school trying to get her to get rid of stuff. She had collected so many things like leaves, shells, rocks, dead butterflies, horse clippings, every card, pen, note, flower ever given to her. She displayed it all on shelves. She finally boxed up what she wanted to keep when she went to college. I miss the days of going into her room and just looking at her treasures & some that would make me wonder why she saved it. She is almost 24, engaged and very happy. I can’t say she is better at cleaning her home but she is and has always been happy. We laugh now about all the treasures she had. Her biggest collection now is books….like her dad.
Have a great trip with friends!

I need a Braiden in my life! 🙂

The ONLY negative I see here (love the organization) is the mixer on the top shelf. I have a difficult enough time just getting it out from waist level but that high spells danger to me.

What is in the container under the bananas? It looked like a ball of dough but I know that’s not right🤔
Mix and Match Mama says
onions and garlic!

Love!😍 Aren’t Lazy Susans so underrated?! I recently added some to my kitchen and bathroom, and found myself wanting to tell everyone about them. Lol

Love it!
Are you still doing your Podcast?
Mix and Match Mama says
We are currently on a podcast break but hoping to be back!

Love that you paid some college kids and not a “professional” to organize your pantry! They did a wonderful job. We try to do that as much as possible too—hire teens to do jobs around the yard and house. 😊

The little bins at the bottom with the baskets!! Where can I find these?
Mix and Match Mama says
The shelves were bought at one store and then they measured and bought the bins somewhere else. They mostly bought at Home Goods and Target.

Where do you put all of your spices and seasonings? Mine take up a good section of shelf area in my pantry. I may have too many… LOL
Mix and Match Mama says
My spice rack is inside a kitchen cabinet. I should take a pic! It’s on the door of a cabinet near-ish my stove.
