Happy Saturday from Boston, friends!
Yesterday, the Shull six took the boat from Nantucket to Hyannis (and then a car to Boston!) for the Red Sox/Yankee game at Fenway Park last night. You wouldn’t believe the trash-talking between my family. Memories were made…memories were made 🙂 .
We are heading back home to Nantucket this morning and have a fun Father’s Day weekend ahead. In the meantime, here’s a little Saturday fun to kick off your weekend starting with…
Here we are at Brant Point Grill last year enjoying dinner. We have eaten dinner here over the years so many times, and we ate there again this week too. Whenever I’m asked what my favorite restaurant is on Nantucket, I always answer with this one. The location is fabulous, the food is delicious and the porch and yard games are so much fun…plus, it’s right on the water, so you get views too. Love.
We got memberships to the library this week! We have been thoroughly enjoying the two book stores in town so much that I thought it was time to get a library membership too.
We have walked past this massive (and gorgeous!) building for years, but this week was the first time we’ve ever gone inside.
All of my girlies came home with books to enjoy 🙂 .
Make sure you check out today’s newsletter! I am such a skincare junkie and try all sorts of brands without ever blogging about it…
…but when I started using Typology, I really fell in love (especially for summer!). Check out my daily newsletter for more info and a promo!
Some fun Saturday sales including MY LINEN TOP…
…so many fun finds AT LOFT…
…super cute BEACH TOTES…
…and SHOES too!
Speaking of book stores, if you’re on the island, make sure you stop at both stores in town. They’re sister stores (which is fabulous!) and both SO CUTE! Make sure you stop at either Mitchell’s (at the top of Main) or Nantucket Bookworks (right off of Main on Broad St.). You will love both of these adorable book shops for not just something to read but other gifts too!
Mix and Match Travel Agency loves Europe and cruises and especially EUROPEAN CRUISES!
This sweet family just returned home from the same cruise my family did last summer, and they loved it too!
If you’re interested in the same cruise for next summer or any of our other vacation planning services, reach out today! We would LOVE to be a part of your next adventure!
That wraps up this Saturday! I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful weekend! I’ll see you back here on Monday! xx

Don’t you wish you could sometimes just freeze time? That pic from a year ago… so sweet! Smith has really grown! What lovely memories you are making.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, yes and YES. I wish I could pause it and just sit with it too. Just sit in the moment and really soak it all up.

That library…it speaks to me!! Lol that’s awesome!!

Summer Saturday is the best day! Where I grew up, we did not have public libraries. I remember when my grandmother took me to the one in their small town when we would come home to visit during the Summer. I still remember the awe I felt at seeing so many books in one place. I still love going to my local library.

Quick question regarding cruising… what do you recommend for clients who get motion sickness easily? Can they still cruise with their family and not be miserable? Thanks so much!
Mix and Match Mama says
I find that with today’s stabilizing technology on ships, clients are less and less mentioning motion sickness to me. I always recommend cabin placement (some cabins are better than others), veranda cabins for fresh air and a clear view of the horizon too. We offer our clients some other tips too. We would love to help!

I put a couple of your Loft pieces in my cart. I am so jealous of the weather there. I am sure you are not missing any of the heat in Texas.
I wanted to ask you about a photo that you posted I think on your stories last Monday…it may have been Sunday and you guys were outside eating and watching half of Titanic. I am interested how you have your tv mounted. That may be a good option for us. Is the stand like a tri pod..kind of situation at the bottom?? Any information that you can provide would be helpful.
Mix and Match Mama says
We actually had it on a TV stand. We have a stand that is easy to pop open and close up for outdoor TV watching here. So easy!

Question about traveling overseas by plane and how to prepare for the plane rides. We are going to Croatia on a mission trip and I am try to make sure we have everything for the plane for adults and kids?
You make me want to go to Nantucket!! Blessings
Mix and Match Mama says
You guys will LOVE Croatia! What an amazing mission trip destination! Are you wondering specifically what you will need to bring on board the plane with you?
Crissy says
Yes, we have never flown that far so we are unsure of what would be helpful to have with us especially with kids. Thanks so much for your help!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve blogged my tips! You can see it here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2017/01/traveling-with-kids/
Lynn says
I’ll look into that for sure. Thanks for the info

Hi Shay! I am not sure what you are referring to when you say your newsletter. I read your blog daily but am wondering if it’s social media which i don’t have . I am the dinosaur in the crowd! I am especially interested in this week because i would love to know more about Typology. Thank you!

If you enter your email in my daily email subscription list, I send out an email/newsletter daily to my readers. Email me, Marla, if you need ANY help 🙂 !!

Planning a girls’s trip for next June to the Nantucket/Martha’s Vineyard area. It will only be from Thursday to Sunday, so really 2 1/2 days of actual time there. It seems like Nantucket is a bit of a challenge in that it takes more time to get to. Do you still think that’s still doable with our timeframe or do you recommend somewhere else in that area that may be more easily accessible given our time constraint? Is Martha’s Vineyard a better option? Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Getting to MV and getting to ACK is the same logistically. If you can fly all the way into either that would make things much simpler. If not, you’ll fly into Boston, take a car to Hyannis and ferry over for both.
Kelly Roll says
Will you share what books your kids are reading? We love the Cape and I am loving all your posts!
Mix and Match Mama says
Mades is really into the Babysitter Club graphic novels. She loves the series called Little Sister 🙂 . Ashby checked out a book on the Titanic and now…I’m drawing a blank on the other two. I’ll try and take a pic when we exchange them so that you guys can see!

The library talk had me reminiscing about going to the library as a kid. We had to write our names down on the cards that were found in the back of the books to check them out. It’s like I was born in the 1800s or something! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I just lol!

I’m loving your Nantucket posts!! ☀️🧡 On that note, I feel like your perfect island getaway is complete, except you need a boat/yacht! My husband works at Hinckley Yachts and would love to talk to you and Andrew about that if you’re ever interested. He loves his Nantucket clients and talks to people on the island all the time. You probably already have friends on the island who own one. Seriously, you have my email, so please reach out if he can answer questions, give a tour (short plane ride to Maine), or help in anyway. He also noted that there’s great technology that helps significantly eliminate rocking and seasickness – I think of that everytime I see you mention the ferry ride over and how much cozier you’d be. Anyway, I just wanted to throw that out! No pressure, I just feel bad that I haven’t reached out yet about it! 😊
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh, Lindsay, YOU ARE TOO SWEET!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a generous offer. You really are too sweet for words!
