Happy happy Friday, friends!
You guys, it’s almost OCTOBER!!!
Basically, my normal level of obnoxious happiness is about to get cranked up to an even higher volume for the remainder of the year.
Apologies in advance.
Okay, ladies, I have a new batch of FAVORITE THINGS from this week.
Light that pumpkin scented candle, grab that pumpkin spice latte and a slice of pumpkin bread and settle in. I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and wishing you a wonderful September into October weekend!
Y’all. Do you see this baby right here? I took this baby to get her driver’s permit on Tuesday.
I need someone to come over and hold me.
Last weekend, McKinney hosted our annual Oktoberfest which is always one of our very favorite traditions! I know you are all SO OVER ME TALKING ABOUT THE RECORD BREAKING HEAT but for the love, it was hot.
That’s it.
I won’t mention it again.
(At least not in this post.)
After a morning of sports and an afternoon of watching college football, the Shull six ventured down to our historic square around 4:00 for the festivities…
We basically ate our way through the evening 🙂 .
Of course, we had to stop and get their faces painted. This is always a Shull family tradition. Just look…
Where did all of those sweet babies go?!
They all grew up…
…Teen Boy was never photographed, but Teen Girl did make it into one pic. Halfway through Oktoberfest, we stopped at our favorite pizza pub for dinner before…
…venturing back out to play games.
Ha! I happened to catch it right when she got one in the red.
Such a fun (and this year sweaty…sorry, I couldn’t help myself) night with my family.
I found cozy dresses! I love THIS WRAP SWEATER DRESS because it’s soft (zero itch!) and comfy. It feels like being wrapped in a soft blanket.
I also love…
…THIS FLANNEL SHIRT DRESS too 🙂 . I bought both in xs.
Okay, I’m going to try not to sound super dramatic, but friends, I am OBSESSED WITH THESE JEANS…
They’re from the brand Wit & Wisdom that I talk about all the time (they make my very favorite pair of black skinny jeans!). I love this brand because, in my opinion, they’re made for us girls that like our jeans not to ride too high or too low, we like our jeans to have stretch but not get baggy after one wear, we want our jeans to wash and go into the dryer without any issues AND THEY’RE PRICED REALLY WELL! As a reminder though, I always recommend you size down one size when purchasing any pair of their jeans. I bought these in a 0 instead of my normal 2. This is what I wore on Tuesday: TANK, JEANS, SNEAKERS, off to the DPS I went with Kensington 🙂 .
I love the faded wash on these jeans so much with my sneakers!
They look really cute with my booties too (now 55% off!)! Please note the adorable dog in this photo 🙂 .
Here’s another look at my sneakers. Plus…
…my jeans and booties look cute with this soft chenille sweater (bring on October!)…
I just really love these jeans 🙂 . They look cute with…
…my turtleneck bodysuit too 🙂 . This comes in many other colors and once again, very soft, zero itch.
Did you catch this week’s edition of Tuesday Tours?! I opened up our Butler’s Pantry (each and every drawer and cabinet!) and took you on a full tour.
Make sure you catch that post HERE!
‘Tis the season for festive indoor/outdoor pillow covers! My sweet cousin Brooke owns Patio Girl Pillows and you should all go check out her Etsy shop!
Brooke is a stay at home mom with three young boys who has a degree in fashion design from the University of North Texas, and she LOVES being outside in her garden. She created this pillow business to spruce up her patio for each season. I love, love, love me a seasonal pillow, but I especially love one for outside. You can see her Etsy shop HERE!
I was one week early this month, so if you missed my SEPTEMBER BOOK REVIEW, make sure you go back and read it HERE. The comment section is on fire with new book recs too! You guys, I really loved one of these four books. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it.

Beautiful family. What’s on the horizon for Ashby to help her hand and arm medical issues? She always looks happy despite all she has gone through.
Mix and Match Mama says
She is such a joy! That girl is super, super tough and almost always super, super upbeat. Her medical issues will be a lifetime battle. Prayers always appreciated. xx

Hi! Love watching your family grow! Can you tell me where you bought Kensington’s sweatshirt that she’s wearing? The gray/white heart sweatshirt. Thank you!

Hi
I went looking for new Daybreak Nikes and saw these instead! I like them very mucj
Emily says
Would love to see the new jeans with loafers. Have you thought about styling that way instead of with booties?
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, I’m personally not a loafer girl. I really like to only show what I buy/wear/love, and for whatever reason, I’m just not really into loafers.
Sarah Madsen says
I just got my new Nike’s thanks to your rec- the cute 90’s air max with the pink, lilac/periwinkle, yellow, etc. But how do I tie them as slip on’s without the laces dragging on the ground or my feet feeling like the shoe is so loose my feet fall out? I tried to zoom on your pics, but I would love your method!
Mix and Match Mama says
I do not tie mine (per my teens). I pull them really tight (like I’m going to tie them) and then instead, I tuck the ends under the tongue of my shoe. Maybe I need to show on a video? Mine stay on without moving at all!
Coty says
yes please show this via a video 🙂
Sarah Madsen says
Yesss!! We love a video 🙂

I love your fall traditions. Way to embrace the season! I thought you made a list of your favorite fall movies once but I can’t seem to find it. If so, can you include on your next post or send to me? Thanks!

Love the new jeans, but don’t know how you wear jeans in that god awful 90 degree heat there!!! – No Way!!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s just been the worst start to fall here. Record breaking terrible.
Kim Carberry says
Oh wow! Good luck to your girl with her driving.
Oktoberfest looks like a lot of fun and those jeans sound amazing, you look so good in them.
