Happy happy Tuesday afternoon, friends!
It’s time for another BONUS BLOG POST!
Come on in, it’s this week’s TUESDAY TOURS 🙂 .
Today, I’m walking you from our kitchen to our butler’s pantry and showing you around. I’m opening up all of the cabinets and showing you the semi-organized chaos inside plus explaining why we have what we have in there and how we use it.
Now confession, this little tour took a bit longer than the others, so I sped up the video a touch so that you’re not watching it any longer than needed.
I’m sharing our wedding china, how I organize seasonal plates and mugs, Andrew gives you a tour of the bottles of alcohol and explains where we bought them/why some are super special and so much more. Settle in and enjoy!
Don’t forget to catch all of the TUESDAY TOURS below:
You asked, so I’m sharing!
Come on in, friends…

Its soup season at our house and today I made your chicken tortilla soup in the slow cooker and it was incredible. My husband went back for seconds. That recipe is a keeper for sure! Thank you

Loved the tour! I have the same wedding china from 1996!

The secret stash of candy is the best!🤣 I do that , too, in a cabinet of dishes I don’t use every day. I think the China pattern is Lenox Eternal? That is what I have, and sadly, rarely use it.

So cool. Thanks for sharing the information about the WS holiday plates. I’ve been wanting to start a tradition of something I can collect for my daughter (today is her 12th birthday) and I think this is it.

I don’t understand the alarm system for the liquor cabinet. Is it so your kids won’t break in there to sneak liquor? I would think you already have an alarm on your main house to prevent theft?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s for anyone that doesn’t have permission to drink our alcohol (babysitters was the original reason). We have people in our home all the time (especially when we’re on Nantucket), so it’s just to make sure it’s secure.
Jennibell says
I think this is genius! We actually had a door alarm on our outside fridge when the kids were little – that is where we kept our alcohol and soda, which we preferred they not drink at home.
Kelli says
Tell us more about the cabinet alarms!! Oh my, we are always trying to figure out how to efficiently lock the liquor cabinet with teens in the house!

Can you provide info on the cabinet alarm?

It’s SimpliSafe!

That was so much fun. Thanks for sharing?

Thank you for sharing your butler’s pantry! Love all the Christmas dishes and the way y’all organized the liquor bottles. Very cool!

Love this series, thank you for sharing your spaces.

Can you post a link to the plates from Williams Sonoma that you purchase one of every year?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s these plates right here. They always carry a variety, but then each year, they have a special plate for just that year. I always buy mine early because they sell out quickly. https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/twas-the-night-before-dinnerware-collection/?pkey=cchristmas-entertaining

Seeing all your holiday dishes makes me so excited to pull mine out! Such a bright little spot to my Tuesday afternoon. 🙂
Francesca says
Okay the security on the cabinets is so smart!! Especially with teenagers! Also the secret stash of candy! 😆 Loved looking at all your pretty dishes.
Patty says
Have you yet acquired a bottle of Mike Rowe’s Knobel whiskey? Seems like something Andrew would love!

Looking it up right now!
Kathy says
Do you use the antique china? Lots and lots of vintage/antique China has lead in the paint or glaze and do not come close to current standards of safe lead levels. I got rid of all the dishes I inherited for this reason as I do not have the space for dishes to just look at. You should look into this if you use the dishes. I had vintage fine China made in England too, which I disposed of.
Mix and Match Mama says
I do use the Friendly Village pieces but not the yellow pieces. Those are only for display at our house.

I love these Tuesday tours! So fun to get a peek inside your spaces!

How Fun! Random question– what type of luggage/ suitcase would you recommend for a carry on??
Mix and Match Mama says
We use a Tumi. It’s small and compact but fits a ton!
Mary says
Thank you for the little peek inside! You are so good at organizing all your serving ware, decorating for the seasons, and mixing modern style with antiques! Inspired by the way you fill your home with happy memories using pieces that are sentimental and personal to you. It was fun to recognize a few of those things from previous blog posts! 🙂

I loved the tour. I have the same painted china! I love the painted scenes on each piece. The colors are so fall/winter. I often choose it over my wedding china, which is also very similar to yours, because its nostalgic and fits the holiday season so well. Mine originally belonged to my husbands grandparents. I

Hi Shay, I loved your Tuesday tour!
We are kindred spirits as far as the dish ware goes.
I think I have that same vintage dish set called “Friendly Village” by Johnson Bros.
Also, I have that same mauve-pinkish “Old Britain Castles” set and a similar white and gold patten dish set. I loved seeing all your holiday mugs and dish ware. I have a vast holiday mug and holiday-themed beverage container collection. Let’s just say when I moved-my friends helped me pack up my dish ware and thought I needed an “intervention.” Seasonal mugs and decor brings me such joy! I also hide treats in random baskets in the pantry.
Keep up the fabulous home tours!
**** Reader request: I know you and Erika are taking a break on the Bestie Breakdown right now. But maybe we could persuade you to do a “fall” and “Christmas” themed-episode with all your favorite tips and hacks. We can’t get enough of holiday goodness and inspiration.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Paula, you are always a girl after my own heart. Thank you, thank you for your sweet comment and suggestion today! xx
Sara says
I would love information about the brand you used for your cabinets. I always worried about older kids, babysitters etc and would love to put someone on our cabinets. Can you send me a link to the company or brand
Mix and Match Mama says
For those cabinets, we use SimpliSafe!

Dozens of comments and no one mentioned Andrew’s ear piercing?! Has he always had that? Is there a story?!
Mix and Match Mama says
He doesn’t have one. I don’t know what you’re seeing, but he’s never had a piercing.
Lindsay says
Too funny – it must be the lighting! In the video when he’s talking about the different bottles and you’re videoing over his shoulder, it totally looked like an earring back. I wondered if you’d talked him into joining you at the piercing shop! Ha!
Mix and Match Mama says
I can talk him into a lot of things…but not that. Now, matching tattoos? He’d easily be talked into that! 😉
Tina says
So funny because I thought he had one too! I kept watching and realized he didn’t, but it sure looked like one for a second.🤣
Karina Coffer says
This has been my favorite Tuesday tours! You have it organized so nice and my husband would love the liquor cabinet. We have a collection of bourbon but it’s tiny in comparison. I love the idea of getting local bottles when we travel.
