Mades is NINE!


And just like that, the baby of the family turns NINE YEARS OLD TODAY!

Madeley James Shull has brought so much JOY into our lives.  I cannot, cannot, cannot believe we almost thought three was the finish line for our family.  How in the world could the Shulls be the Shulls without the final exclamation point at the end of us.  It’s selfies like this that we all find on our phones…

…that just continuously reinforces that WE NEEDED THIS GIRL!

Her spunk, her humor, her happiness, her true enthusiasm for life is one of the most remarkable things I’ve ever seen in another person.

Madeley just never has a bad day.

We are all so very thankful that the Lord led us to this little girl to be the icing on the cake for the Shull Five…

…we cannot imagine our world without this nugget.

Nine years old.

We met this precious baby when she was 23 months old…and to think about her life then and her life now, it takes my breath away.  There are so many “Madeleys” in this world who just need forever families to give them a home and an opportunity to fully be who they are meant to be.

I think about her sweet birth mama every day, but today, I will be thinking of her extra.  My prayer is that one day in Heaven, a bubbly, happy, woman smiling ear to ear runs up to me to introduce herself as my daughter’s mama.  I have a feeling I will see her coming from a mile away…a personality that big has to be genetic, and it makes me smile to think of the one her own mom must have as well.

Happy birthday sweet Madeley James!  We are so excited to celebrate YOU today! xx

    Do you know where she got that black paw necklace? With our school mascot being a panther my daughter would love this!

      It was a gift a while back, so I’m not sure. It’s a “mood” necklace that is stuck on “black”…or maybe black means “always happy”? I’m not sure 🙂 .

      I would like to say “yes” but the answer is more “maybe/hopefully”. Some years, we do better than others at actually getting this done.
