Happy Tuesday, friends!
Okay, it’s the third and final part of our trip to the Czech Republic this month!
We were there for three days, and I have three posts. Are you surprised? I’m not! There was just SO MUCH to see and do that I want to share with you all.
As a reminder, you can see our first full day with all the deets about Prague IN THIS POST HERE.
Our our second full day, we visited the BEAUTIFUL city of Český Krumlov. This was my favorite day of the trip, and you can see the full recap IN THIS POST HERE.
Alrighty, on our last full day, we were in Prague and crossed the gorgeous Charles Bridge to check out the other side of town…
You’re wearing those same jeans again? Yes, yes, I am. I wore them two full days and then to dinner once. I was *trying* to pack light and simple on this trip, and it worked quite well. I wore them with my amazing CHELSEA BOOTS and SWEATER.
Our hotel was right on the river, but up until this point, we had stayed on one side. We saved the other side for this special day. It was a BEAUTIFUL morning crossing the Charles.
We crossed, and I was immediately enchanted.
One of the first places we visited was the famous Lennon Wall.
This wall has been written on/decorated/covered in graffiti for decades now. It started as a tribute to John Lennon, but it’s grown into so much more in the quest for civil rights and justice around the world.
The shops and restaurants on this side of town were in all their fall glory.
Every detail was perfect in Prague.
We visited a farmer’s market and food stand area…
…and kept exploring.
We bought tickets to explore the gardens and walk up to the St. Vitus Cathedral area.
I just thought we were getting amazing views. Just wait…
Hello! Absolutely STUNNING!
We took approximately 4 billion steps to the top!
Prague, you are just lovely.
After a full morning and a lot of steps, we stopped…
…at this cutest pub for lunch…
When lunch was over, it was time to meet up with our tour guide for the afternoon…
We did a private pub tour through Prague where we learned all the deets and then visited some famous (and some off the beaten path) Prague establishments along the way.
I love traveling with him!
We walked, we learned, we went into nondescript buildings that ended up being something really cool, an art gallery, pubs…it was a full almost four hours.
Before we knew it, it was nighttime. We had one last dinner in Prague and headed to bed. Our alarms were going off at 3:00 AM to catch our flight back to Dallas.
You guys, Prague and Český Krumlov were absolutely amazing. Andrew and I both cannot wait to visit again! How do you manage different languages when you travel?
Mix and Match Mama says
I have really only truly experienced a language barrier when traveling to China. Outside of that, we’ve never had an issue with people not speaking English well enough that we can’t communicate.
Melissa says
Absolutely stunning. Can you please share your size in the sweater and your lip color/brand? Thanks Shay.
Mix and Match Mama says
Of course! The sweater is an xs and the lipstick is Mary Kay’s Luminous Lilac 🙂 .

Love your trip recaps! When you travel without K, do you still eat g-free?
Mix and Match Mama says
No, we do not. We indulge in all the things 😉 .

Shay, Thank you so much for sharing pictures and a recap from your trip to the CR. I have a friend living here from the CR and forwarded your posts to her.
There are no words to describe the beauty of this magical land. The history… the architecture-Glorious, stunning, resplendent in its autumnal glory.
Great job In realizing that your heart needs snippets of autumn every year and you are intentional to pursue that and plan your fall trips accordingly. Here in Colorado, we had the most vibrant October in years. It was magnificent.
Especially as adult women, we have to orchestrate those things that bring us joy. I saw a quote from one of my favorite illustrators, Heather Stillufsen. She said…
“It’s up to you to find the beauty of the season you are in. “Your happiness is in your hands.” It’s just like you said about elevating the everyday. We need to romanticize our lives and find beauty and joy in the small things, and many times that means being intentional to make our own seasonal dreams come true. Grateful for you, Shay.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh wow! Paula, I’m so grateful for YOU! I love that quote so much. Thank YOU for sharing it with me. I’m so blessed to have you in this community. Happy Thanksgiving! xx

Did you buy any fun souvenirs or bags in Prague? It looks absolutely beautiful that time of year! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
We bought hand painted Russian nesting dolls that are Christmasy from one shop, their known for their art carved from wood, so we brought a few of those little pieces back…small things like that.

My daughter and I want to visit Prague because our heritage is Czech! We love kolaches and Pivo! We will be in contact with you! Your pics got us so excited!
Mix and Match Mama says
We would love, love to help!!
Kelly says
Shay, you should visit when they have their Christmas markets, you would love it!
Mix and Match Mama says
I would LOVE that!!

We loved our time in Prague circa 2022; we stayed at Hotel Mozart (highly recommend) and our family took up the 5th floor; the teens had a blast having their own space and the views were stunning.
I really enjoyed your photos and it definitely looks like you were both as enchanted with the Czech Rep as we were; recommendation for those that are interested in Terazin. My youngest is fluent in German and really wanted to see Terazin. IT is really well done, sobering, but I’m so glad we made that day trip (not too far from Prague), we had an excellent tour guide, too

I never considered visiting Prague before but your recaps have me adding it to my bucket list! What an intricately beautiful place to visit and explore. Do you often find that you want to revisit the places you go? Or are many of them a “one and done” kind of trip?
Mix and Match Mama says
It really depends. This year, I’ve had several that I want to revisit (the Dominican Republic and Czech Republic for sure!) but sometimes, I don’t feel the need and just like checking the box (Turks & Caicos this year).
Kate says
Shay, have you ever visited Bruges, Belgium? Some of the pics from the other side of the Charles reminded me of it! I highly recommend adding it to your list if you’ve never been, and these posts are bumping Prague up a bit on mine. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
We have!! Andrew and I visited in 2012. It’s on our list of places to visit again! https://mixandmatchmama.com/2012/10/belgium-holland-day-4-brugge/

What a wonderful trip!

I took the exact same photo you have as the cover for this blog post! Prague/CR is definitely one of the best places I’ve visited!
Irene Kelly says
Did you fly private or commercial
Mix and Match Mama says
I have never flown private. Wouldn’t that be lovely though? I flew British Airways 🙂 .
Irene Kelly1 says
Well you fly private to Nantucket ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Irene, I’ve never flown private and probably never will. It would be lovely, but certainly not something I think I’ll ever get to do.
