Happy FRIDAY, friends!
I hope you had a wonderful week!
As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s FAVORITE THINGS!
Cheers to the weekend!
Well it’s the last blog post of MAY today!
I just love May 🙂 .
Want to know who won…
…SHAY’S HAPPY MAY GIVEAWAY #2?
Congratulations LISA HEWETT!
Thank you, thank you, Lisa for being a wonderful part of our community! You will be receiving…
MY BEACH BAG
MY FAVORITE SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER
MY BELOVED TKEE FLIP FLOPS
THE VERY BEST BEACH HAT (truly!!)
RADIANT CLEANSING BALM
and a KINDLE PAPERWHITE!
Also, a HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who…
…WALKED EVERY DAY IN MAY this month too!
Was that fun?
Did you like it?
I personally LOVED the accountability! There were several days this month that I would not have walked had it not been for this group and this little challenge.
I actually thought this May was so much fun here in blog world that I’ve decided to sprinkle in some of the “May goodness” all summer long.
First up, I will be hosting MORE GIVEAWAYS THIS SUMMER (and more frequently too!). So stay tuned and next week, I’ll have a new one to share.
I also thought in June, we could…
…work on our wellness some more every day together!
This time, we’re going to do 30 FOR 30 (like the TV series 🙂 ) in June!
What does that mean? Well, there are 30 days in June, and we are going to aim for 30 minutes of activity every day.
What counts as “an activity”? Well, that’s up to YOU! Maybe swimming with your kids or playing pickleball or surfing or going for a walk or lifting weights or playing a round of golf…just whatever you can do for 30 minutes that makes you feel “active” every day in June.
Please let me know two things in the comment section…did you walk every day in May (or even most days!) and are you going to try 30 for 30 in June?
I would love to know who’s doing it with me!
Well this is an unexpected favorite of mine…
…but I shared this photo on Wednesday and after explaining why I love the shorts, I shared that I had the La Croix sitting on the corner of the rug because it kept coming up.
Well, SO MANY of you commented with the same trick. I had never heard of this before, but I tried it and it worked like a charm 🙂 .
Here’s what you told me to do…put a few ice cubes down on the corner, cover the cubes with a bowl and walk away until the next day. The ice will melt and the corner will stay flat. I tried it on Wednesday and on Thursday morning, the rug was flat 🙂 . I had some of you ask me about damaging my wood floors, but I did not use enough to be damaging. Just a few cubes right on the corner and bam, it was flat. The rug was slightly damp the next morning but the wood wasn’t wet at all.
I shared on IG that I was doing this and then Andrew texted me from Nantucket…
…and he had seen me talk about it on Instagram and was doing it on a rug there too. Bahahaha! Worked on that rug as well. Great tip!
Yesterday, I shared…
…my RASPBERRY DUTCH BABY PANCAKE (so easy, your weekend needs it!), but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that…
…the Always Pan is ALWAYS a favorite of mine.
It’s a 10-in-1 system that does it all! I love that it’s both non-stick and oven-safe.
I love it so much that I have it on both Nantucket and in McKinney in both the color “steam” and…
…the color “salt blue” (it comes in other colors too!).
Perfect for making things on the stovetop or in the oven!
And of course, as you know, I rave about…
…MY GRIDDLE PAN all the time too!
I use this griddle pan at least once a week for everything from savory dinners in McKinney…
…to yummy breakfasts on Nantucket.
If you’re looking for a wedding gift or housewarming gift or just something super functional for your family, I can’t recommend them enough!
White tops for the win this week!
My SLEEVELESS RIBBED KNIT TANK + SHORTS + SANDALS and also…
…GAUZE TOP + ATHLETIC SKIRT + SANDALS for the win this week!
For only $15, THIS LITTLE VACAY IN A BOTTLE SET has made me so happy this week!
It’s four little scents that each smell unique yet super summery. Bonus, the fragrances have been lasting all day too! I am just tickled pink by this little set and already bought a second one before they’re sold out. A total fave!
And finally, should your summer need an easy little side dish, here’s my BLACKBERRY & BLEU SALAD! It’s yummy, y’all!
Now don’t forget, please let me know if you’re going to do 30 for 30 with me in June and/or if you walked every day in May too! Also don’t forget, it’s not too late to get a summer vacation on the books. If you are wanting to travel, we can help! Contact us HERE for more information!
Summer Saturdays will return in JUNE! I hope you’re pumped about those too.
I’ll see you guys back here on Monday. Have the BEST weekend! xx

Yay! I’m so happy you did it too!

Yes! I was excited to get in all my walking this month. Some nights after work, even when I didn’t feel like it, I made sure to get my steps in and my 10 year old son joined me. We’ve really enjoyed our evening walks and talks where he doesn’t have to compete with baby brother for my attention. Looking forward to the June challenge!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love love that your son did it too!!!
Diane Moore says
Well, I didn’t walk every day in May, but I definitely walked more days than I would have without the the challenge and your instagram reminders.
I’m in for 30 in June and honestly, I know I already do that so it will be easy 😉
Have you heard of exercise snacks? I add ‘snacks’ throughout the day while cooking, after sitting, waiting for someone, etc. Squats or calf raises or planks … whatever! It’s a good way to break up inactivity and combat glucose spikes, easy add-ons of any sort. 😁
Mix and Match Mama says
I LOVE THIS! I have never heard of this phrase before, but I am absolutely down for it!
Carrie Martens says
I did join you for the May walking challenge – thank you! I am also in for the 30 in 30 challenge. Good to be moving!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!! I’m so happy you did it too!
Dawn Timmons says
Did you see this week that Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the host of a new show on NBC called Destination X? It definitely has all the good and bad ingredients of a reality show. That being said, the contestants travel all over the world and they have to guess where they are based on clues. You, Andrew, and your M&M Travel team would be really good at this game. Seems like a Friday Favorite for you with him as the host of a travel show. 😊 ✈️ 🧳 Happy Friday! Looking forward to your blogs in June!
Mix and Match Mama says
I saw it, and I LOVE IT!!

Sarah Shaneyfelt says
Too funny that Andrew did the ice cube trick on Nantucket without you even having to prompt and tell him ha! I feel like that is something Dustin would do, too. And yay for your Summer Saturdays series coming back this summer! I loved it last year!!

Do the 30 for 30 in June!

We already walk every day, so the May challenge was easy (if you count walking up and down and back and forth as we helped my in-laws get ready to downsize last weekend). I am looking forward to June’s challenge!

I loved your idea to walk every day in May so I did it and invited two of my friends in other states to join in too! We might have missed a day here or there but it encouraged us to get out there and walk much more than we would have! Thanks! We’re planning on 30 for 30 next month!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love love love that you did it with friends!
BeckyM says
I’ve walked every day in May! I’m so thankful for the challenge and am well on my way to having that be a habit! I’ve struggled with foot problems in the past, so being able to go for a walk now and not pay for it the rest of the day with pain is amazing to me! I’m in for June’s 30 for 30!
Mix and Match Mama says
YAY!!!!! I’m so glad that you did too!
Christin S. says
I’m in for the 30 in 30! Love the accountability!

I walked every day in May! Love the 30 for 30! I added 30min of outdoor activity to my kids “chore chart” (we use Skylight calendar to track) this week and they are finding fun ways to hit it! Of course, they do way more than 30min, but wanted to make it intentional for the summer!
Mix and Match Mama says
That is such a great idea!!! Thank you for walking with me!
Kelli says

Yes and yes!!! I made a goal to not only walk everyday in May but to also increase my step count from 7,500 to 10,000 and my April average was 8,270 and my May average as of today is 10,024!! I didn’t hit my goal on a few days but I did a dedicated walk everyday.
I commented a couple years ago that I was hoping that one of these years you’d “influence” me to workout and I’m happy to report that I’m also strength training 3-4 times a week now too and I’m seeing the results! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s a FABULOUS way to gauge it! I love that you did this!
Mary says

God willing and the creek don’t rise, I am going to do the 30 for 30 in June. I have my daughters doing this with me so it should be interesting.

I walked every day in May! Thanks for making it fun to see your stories and get out there myself. It was rainy so it was a challenge to run out between showers, but I got it done! I will tag along for 30 for 30 in June gladly! I try to do this anyway, but it is amazing what invisible accountability can do.
Mix and Match Mama says
YAY!! I’m so happy you joined us too!

Unfortunately I didn’t make it all 30 days in May….hello teacher at the end of school life. 🤪 I plan to join a body pump class in June & am aiming for doing that 3x a week. 40 is right around the corner for me.
Kellie Bowers says
I have walked everyday in May and this challenge helped me get out there on days I wasn’t feeling it or on the treadmill when it rained.
I’ll definitely do the June challenge!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay! I’m so happy you participated too!
Heather G says
I’m down for June challenge too! Can’t believe another month went by so quickly. Such a great reminder to just start small and get moving because the days will pass us by anyway!
Jen says
I can’t wait to start 30 for 30! I think I’ll finally have time to focus on me a bit more with the school year ending/summer beginning and the weather finally cooperating…it’s been so rainy here in the Philly area.

MICHELLE OKERLUND says
To be honest, I didn’t walk everyday in May. I am excited for the 30 for 30 in June. I have a new dance exercise program I have been wanting to try and this sounds like a great way to start an exercise program. I have lost 24 lbs and I think it’s time to incorporate exercise into the mix as I seem to have more energy each day. I will fit into those cute summer outfits before I know it!
Lisa Hewett says
Well, I have been having a rough couple of days and just went to read my favorite blog and got the shock of my life!! I won the giveaway!! I am in tears. Shay, I get great joy every single day reading your blog and all the great things you share, books, clothes, makeup, recipes, your beautiful family, your faith and so many other things I didn’t know I needed until I see them here:)
I have been a reader since Kensington and Smith were wee littles. Followed along with joy in my heart when you and Andrew brought the precious Ashby and Mades home. Thank you for being such a positive light in my day….and for the goodies I’ve got coming. Can’t wait to see the summer Nantucket shenanigans:)
Mix and Match Mama says
I am so so happy you were the winner! Lisa, we are all so grateful you’re a part of this community too!

I walk at work twice daily with my friend. We keep each other accountable. The great thing is our building has a big hallway that loops the perimeter of the building so if the weather is bad we just walk inside!
Bren says
Loved the walk every day in May and so ready for 30 for 30 in June! Nothing makes me happier than when the weather becomes cooperative and I can be outside (Midwest girl who so misses walking outside during our winters)!
Silly thing to share that your little perfumes above reminded me of! I was deep cleaning/cleaning out our bathroom and found so many little sample perfumes! My goal for summer is to try a new one every few days, see if maybe I can find a new scent to enjoy! It was a most unexpected little joy, from cleaning. 😍 Happy weekend!
Denise says
I did the #walkeverydayinmay Challenge and will also be participating in the 30 for 30! This was a great idea!
Jennifer Sumner Graham says
My friend and I walked most days in May (we had some rainy ones in Houston this month). I am planning to continue walking throughout the summer. I work 10-1/2 hour days, four days a week until the middle of July, so I look forward to those walks most days even in the Houston heat. Thanks for the challenge.
Elizabeth S says
I walked many more days in May than I would have :~)
I do plan to participate in the 30 for 30. I have gotten my heavier weight vest and want to really be dedicated in June.
Thank you for the motivation!
Amy Androff says
I ordered the Always baking sheet pan when you suggested a ways back and gradually have ordered more when I see their sales. Thanksgiving seems to have the best discounts. I love them!
Dena says
I didn’t see the May challenge but I returned from Disney in April and was amazed how many steps I did while walking around MK, Epcot, HS…I decided to keep up with it when I got home. From 4/22-5/21 I walked 394,484 steps which equaled 176.83 miles! So I missed a few days in May but still walked a ton. I think for June, I’m going to get back to walking every day. It’s such a healthy habit!
Amy says
I will do the 30/30 with you! Day 1 DONE!
Maritza says
Absolutely loved walking together everyday in May & I’m in for June’s 30 for 30! I actually started strong today by doing Andrew’s spring break workout. The video links for each of the exercises were so helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Helen says
Walked with you every day in May! Joining you in the June 30 for 30! Thanks for doing this….so motivating!
sc says
I walked MOST days in May. I usually aim for 10,000 steps but in May I set it to 15,000 and most days I did it! Thank you for the motivation! 30 for 30 in June sounds like a GREAT and FUN goal!
Jess Wade says
I’m late on this as I was on vacation last week. But yes, I did the walk/run every day in May and I loved it. It got me out in the evenings when it’s quiet, perfect weather and allowed some time to myself if I hadn’t gotten in a walk/run earlier in the day. And it got me moving on my vacation every day too. I’m planning on the June challenge as well. Good thing I lifted weights yesterday as I got day 1 in without knowing about the challenge. It’s definitely a way to keep myself accountable, so thank you for that.
Talitha says
I walked most days in May and am down for 30 for 30 in June! I also love the idea of exercise snacks someone mentioned!
Natasha says
I walked extra every day in May except for three days and there absolutely days when I wouldn’t have walked if it wasn’t for this challenge. I’m in for “30 for 30” in June. Wish my luck though as we’re in our last month of school so it’s going to be extra busy. I know I will manage the end of school stress if I keep active though. I’ve been brainstorming ways to get my “30 minutes” besides walking which has been fun! I’ve also been brainstorming a fun motivation for July but so far all I’ve come up with is “31 with my guy in July”! Hahahahahaha!!!
Deb says
i walked every day in May. I am a regular walker and prefer doing so outdoors but will walk on a treadmill if the weather is bad, I am in for June 30 for 30.
Hallye says
I walked (almost) every day in May! I did give myself a little grace while traveling with family the last few days…does walking to the buffet on a cruise ship count?? 😉
Yes, I plan to do the June challenge of 30 for 30. Love the accountability! Thanks for doing this!
