Happy Wednesday! It’s time for this month’s LET’S LOOK!
If you don’t know what this is, once a month, Erika and I do a little link up where we “look” at different aspects of our lives (and then if you blog, you share and link up too!). We have been doing this little linky party for years now, and it’s always one of my favorite posts each month because most of the topics are YOUR suggestions!
Just as a reminder, here’s what we’ve “looked at”so far this year…
In January, we looked at LOW LEVEL GOALS FOR 2025.
In February, we looked at HOW WE WORK ON OUR MARRIAGE.
In March, we looked at HOW WE RESET FOR THE WEEK ON SUNDAYS.
In April, we looked at MAINTAINING FRIENDSHIPS.
In May, we looked at OUR WELLNESS ROUTINES.
This month, Erika and I are sharing a look at OUR TRAVEL BUCKET LIST!
For this blog series, YOU guys pick the topics which I love because that means many of you must be thinking about your travel bucket lists too.
In Helsinki, Finland with my favorite guy!
I am one of those people who plans trips as I’m on trips. Nothing motivates me more to travel than actually traveling. I get asked a lot how I travel so much without getting completely exhausted, but for me, I’m energized by travel. Maybe there’s a blog post in there for another day, but traveling doesn’t exhaust me…it fuels me. This is why I love my job so much! I love all the ins and outs of travel (whereas my mom, an interior designer, thinks spending all day looking at rugs is exciting…I find that absolutely draining).
Needless to say, I have a BIG TRAVEL BUCKET LIST. For the sake of this post, I have trimmed it down. Instead of getting into the weeds, I listed very broadly some countries that I haven’t visited that I would like to visit.
My actual bucket list is more nuanced and includes places I’ve been before but want to visit again for other reasons. For example, I’ve been to Ireland but on my Travel Bucket List, I would like to visit again but this time for St. Patrick’s Day. Another example is that I’ve been to Canada, but I want to visit again and go to Montreal and Prince Edward Island.
Oktoberfest in Munich was for sure a bucket list trip!
Alrighty, here, in a nutshell, are countries I haven’t been to but certainly can’t wait to visit.
All of these places are on my Bucket List…
…I mean, yes, yes, and YES to all of these places.
Just looking at the list again makes me want to pause working on other’s vacations and work on one for myself instead.
Now, I want to know WHAT’S ON YOUR TRAVEL BUCKET LIST?!
Please please comment and share!
Goodness, I hope you let my travel agency help you get there! We would be oh so honored to help you.
Okay, next time on Let’s Look, we are going to look at…
…THINGS I CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT!
Now this is going to be a lengthy post 😉 .
Today, I’m also sharing DEODORANT PART THREE today too! Spoiler alert, I no longer wear deodorant. You can see that post HERE.
If you linked up today with us, please make sure you add your link below.
Have the best Wednesday, friends! xx

When you visit Prince Edward Island please drive The Cabot Trail esp with the kids it is so beautiful! I’ve done it many times because my family owns a home on an island in Maine for over a hundred years so we go to Canada every year but only in the summer ! A vacation without an ocean is only a trip not a vacation
Josie says
One quick thing- Colombia is spelled w two os. I went to Colombia a few years ago and this was a HUGE issue w people misspelling it and natives getting very upset tourists didn’t know how to spell the name correctly. It happens all the time. Also. Colombia is amazing and one of the best trips we’ve taken – everyone I told we were going was worried we’d get shot the second we set foot in the country um, things have changed since the 80s. Highly recommend a trip there!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love details like this! Thank YOU! Once I heard that locals call Ibiza “I-be-tha”, I can’t unheard or unsay it.
Marilyn Bridges says
I lived in Colombia for 3 years. It is such a beautiful country! I recommend staying in the cities. Bogota has pleasant weather year round! Cartagena, Medellin and a visit to the coffee plantation area are also great places. There is not a lot of English spoken there, so some basic Spanish is helpful.
Lynn T says
My son is traveling to Columbia tomorrow for the second time this year. He met a girl from there when he was in Spain last year. And now they are getting married! I guess I will be going to Columbia soon. She lives in the northern part near the ocean. Last trip they went to Medellin and have great pictures. So glad to see others have had great experiences there.
Isabelle says
Yes! You are more than welcome in Canada! I highly recommend adding New Brunswick to your itinerary. This province, connected to Prince Edward Island, boasts stunning French-speaking communities—perfect for anyone who appreciates the beauty of the language (like you 😉 ). Plus, its breathtaking beaches are not to be missed! And for a truly magical experience, visit Hopewell Rocks, where the world’s highest tides sculpt dramatic rock formations, creating an unforgettable sight. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay! Thank you for the sweet feedback!! For SURE on my list!!
Isabelle says
Bienvenue! 🙂 It would be truly special to hear that one of my favorite bloggers visited my province.
Tamara R says
I LOVE the travel bucket list! I have never had Nepal on my list but on Mike’s bucket list is Everest base camp! Currently in our top five are Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Africa, Dubai/UAE and Maldives. But my list goes on and on… So please don’t retire anytime soon! 😁
Ali Steele says
I’m Canadian and Prince Edward Island is one of my favorite places in the world! It is a laid back place with lovely charm. I would say it’s my Nantucket. ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
Do you go in the summer? Is it closed up in the fall? I want to hear more!!
Summer says
The best time to visit is during the summer months!🌾💞
Summer says
The best time to visit is during the summer months! 🌾💞
Ali Steele says
Yes, best to go in summer as some things are closed in the other months.
It’s all lovely and the island is small enough that you can see a fair amount in one visit. We love the areas of Summerside (red sand), North Rustico, Morell, and Souris.
Kristen says
I’ve been to Figi & Japan and they are amazing! I am crossing off Greece this summer, can’t wait! I still need to get to Paris and London!!!
Beth Knecht says
This is fun!
I can’t wait to read what other people share!
I’d love to go on a Mediterranean cruise, to the English countryside and Giethoorn.
Kristin B says
Such a fun list! I’m surprised Israel isn’t on your list. What interests in you in Qatar? Can’t wait to see where your fam is headed this summer 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It is!! For sure it is too! I have heard amazing things about Doha. I’ve been in the airport, but I’d love to actually go out and see it.
Lenae Brewer says
I lived in Doha for 4 years! It made me so happy to see it on your list. We are a military family and my kids went to high school and graduated from The American School of Doha. We LOVED it there!
Mix and Match Mama says
Wow! What an amazing experience for your entire family!
Lisa D says

You still can’t work with Canadians right??
Mix and Match Mama says
Your list is so good!! And YES, we love our Canadian clients!
Talia says
I’m leaving (next week!) for Italy and Croatia! I’m so excited. I’d welcome any ideas as to how to spend time on the plane – it’s a long flight and I’m an anxious traveler. Help!
Kristin says
If you’re flying economy, try to sleep! If you’re flying business, stay awake and enjoy all of the perks. Download podcasts, books, bring a book. Don’t drink alcohol. Drink water. Good luck and have a great trip!!
Jennifer P. says
I absolutely LOVE what you said about traveling energizing you! I feel the same way! I always like to have another trip in the queue! Indonesia is FOR SURE on my bucket list!! Your trip to Bali last year enforced it even more! The beauty, the culture, the beaches, the food! Life is all about the experiences!
Carly says
Oh I would love to hear the specifics on your list! You’ve given me so much travel inspo over the years! Can’t wait to see your summer trip!
Krista Dragoo says
I want to go to Italy, France, London, and Greece!! I also want to go back to Germany, I loved there when I was 3 but I dont really remember so I’d like to go see where we lived.
Nikki says
I’d love to go on an African safari and to see the Grand Canyon (not in the same trip :).
Jillian k Vansickle says
love the bucket list!!!!! have you or your family ever been to Africa?
Mix and Match Mama says
Andrew has been four times, but I would love to go!
Joan says
Oh boy, you really need to go on a safari, and with the kids, as a once in a lifetime experience. There is nothing about this sojourn that isn’t mind-blowing. My husband and I took our son when he graduated from high school and picked an adventure tour that included trekking with the Maasai for a couple of days (an extraordinary cultural and educational immersion), along with a week on safari and a week in Zanzibar.
Marian says
My son was in Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day this year and, although he had fun, he said he would it is something he will never do again! Every single student studying abroad in the EU and/or in any way close by descends on Dublin for that day/weekend. I will look forward to hearing how it is for a more experienced traveler 🙂
Josie says
I randomly happened to be in Dublin on March 16th last year and it was already insane- Like Times Square on New Year’s Eve. (On the actual day We ended up going to howth about 30 mins outside Dublin on the coast for the day/ evening and it was just lovely. No crowds at all.)
Alexis Meacham says
I am already looking forward to next month’s topic!
Robyn says
Love, love, love your bucket list. I’ve been to Norway (I have a son that lives there) and England, but they will always be at the top of my bucket list. There’s so many other places I want to visit and see. At the top for my next couple of trips is Hawaii, Boston and Nantucket along with Sweden, Germany and Switzerland. Thanks for sharing.
Sherri says
I’d Love to go to the following: Italy, France, Greece, London, Ireland and Anywhere Tropical!!!
Kristen says
Love your list and I’m the same way – headed home from one trip and working on details for the next! The planning, the time with my people/hubby, the places – it all gives me so much joy! Our family is headed to New Zealand in a few weeks and we can’t wait! We did a safari in Tanzania last summer and those two were big bucket list trips for sure.
Natasha says
I’ve spent St Patrick’s Day in Ireland (SO MUCH FUN!!!) and Christmas Eve in Bethlehem so those are off my list. I’d love to visit South America (officially — I’ve been to islands off its coast) and cross my sixth continent off my list. And I want to visit Poland with my mom. I visited my dad’s parents’ birthplaces in Ukraine with my dad so I want to do the same with my mom. I’d also love to visit Hawaii and every single baseball stadium in MLB. Thanks to your dad now my goal is to see my Jays play at every stadium!
Other than that I’ve been so fortunate to do A LOT of travelling and I’ve been to almost 50 countries. Like you, I LOVE travelling and find it energizing and fun and I’m ALWAYS planning new places to visit.
What are on your kids’ travel bucket lists? I’m assuming they have them! My kids want to go to Japan, Australia, Iceland, and Hawaii. I love hearing their perspective on trips we should take.
Stephanie says
If you go to Quebec you need to visit Quebec City!! It’s like being in France without crossing an ocean!! Charm and history galore !! We went last Fall and it was the most glorious thing I have even seen !! Even better than Autumn in New England !!
Diane says
NANTUCKET ( inspired by you, Nancy Thayer, and Elin Hildebrandt!)— April 2020 girls trip there got cancelled because of COVID. Do you know anything about their fall half marathon? Our daughter is a runner and I tag along with her to destination runs like NYC and Key West.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay! I honestly don’t know anything about their half. I hope you guys get up here soon!
Debbie Smith says
There were some great places in the USA that were to be on my bucket list…As a Canadian, I don’t feel safe traveling to the USA anymore, and I also feel that Canada has been betrayed by the USA administration. I will be looking at Portugal and other great places in Canada to explore!
Karen says
Some areas aren’t safe (parts of major cities) but that’s in every country! All the US National Parks, Florida, New England, etc. are all super safe! Not sure what foreign media is telling you but it’s all fine 👍
Kristin says
Where in the US were you hoping to travel? I’m a US citizen, but have rarely felt unsafe in my travels. You have to be smart in big cities, but I think the news is making things seem less safe than they are. I think you would find that most US citizens are kind and welcoming in person. Honestly, in interpersonal interactions, people are generally kind to each other. Politics in the news would make it seem otherwise, but we don’t go around asking people their political beliefs, immigration status, which baseball team they root for, etc. We’re just mostly generally kind. I completely understand and agree with your thoughts about the current administration’s recent behavior towards Canada, and I am so sorry about that.
Deb says
My husband and I love to travel – it gives us energy as well. We have traveled all over the world but still on our bucket list are:
Africa
Morocco
Estonia
Israel
Poland
Iceland
Australia
New Zealand
We keep adding to the list every year.
Mix and Match Mama says
Great, great list!!!
Martha says
Reading the comments about Colombia makes me think you would need to watch Romancing the Stone with the kids before heading there! As for Canada – yes, you would love P.E.I. and would have to watch Anne of Green Gables with Megan Follows and then visit Avonlea Village where you wander around the town and see the characters from the books interacting with visitors. I think your Madely would love it! I’ve read all of James Herriot’s books and have always wanted to visit the Yorkshire Dales he writes about, it sounds beautiful.
Mix and Match Mama says
I love that movie! That was one of my favorites when I was younger. During COVID, I even watched it with my kids.
Elizabeth says
I have quite a large bucket list, but the Maldives, Japan (we were supposed to go in 2020 and had it booked…then covid, ugh!), Ireland, Portugal, Thailand are high on my list! As for the USA I would love to get to Nantucket, Maine, Alaska, Wyoming or Montana! If you havent been to Croatia you should really add that to your list. Its an absolute dream and if I could move there I would go in a heartbeat!
Megan Perkins says
I haven’t travelled nearly as much as you, and National Parks (so many left in the USA) are my jam. However, a few years after college, my friend and I spent 2 weeks seeing many areas of Japan and I highly recommend it. Japan has such a great culture, delicious food (I’m totally biased), the people are so kind and helpful, and amazing scenery-that all looks slightly different in many areas! I would love to see you travel there someday and hear your thoughts and recommendations!
Laura says
Yes! South America is so underrated. I went to Paraguay in high school and also got to see Iguacu Falls on the border ofBrazil and Argentina—it is a must see! It is the most waterfalls in the world in one place and you can hear the roar from miles away. Breathtaking. Hope you get a chance to visit. 🙂
Heather says
Are you planning on trying to visit all 7 continents like your Dad? 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I would love to eventually do that too!
Stephanie says
We are leaving for Africa (Tanzania) in 8 weeks! This is a bucket list trip for us for sure!
Mix and Match Mama says
AMAZING!!! I hope you have the very best time!
Lindi says
Currently there is a level 3 travel advisory for Colombia. I would still avoid it.
Ruby Huling says
I would love to visit every state right here in the USA…possibly a summer long trip in a RV!
Christine says
Yay for sharing your travel bucket list! I’m so glad to see Poland on your list. It’s SO beautiful and one of my very favorite places I’ve ever visited! Argentina is wonderful, too! Cheers for lots more traveling. 🙂
Bren says
If you ever get a chance to see Moraine Lake and Lake Louise in Canada go! I ‘ll never get over the color of the blue waters!
London, France, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, more of the Hawaiian islands…my list is always growing!
Karen in Virginia says
Shay….we flew to Halifax and drove to Lunenberg (a world heritage site), Peggy’s Cove and up around the Cape Breton trail and then over to PEI. And then we came back around down to Digby, where we had the biggest scallops I’ve ever seen. And we took a little ferry where the tides are the highest and took a whale watching trip. It was fantastic. The whole place smells like pine trees. I loved it. Research some of these places and see if you would like to go there. Peggy’s Cove was one of my favorites.
Karen in Virginia says
Oops, I couldn’t think of the name of the area with the high tides. But it’s called the Bay of Fundy. Really spectacular!
Meredith says
Hot take – St Patty’s Day is better in Boston than Dublin having done both! You would love both New Zealand and the Maldives while kids are still young!
Dale Williamson says
You should make us a travel bucket list of the best places that you have been to!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love this idea!
Karleigh Johnson says
Love your bucket list!
Japan is at the very top of my list, along with London, Ireland, Scotland, Vietnam, and Australia. My husband and I were all booked to go to Japan in March 2020, but we all know what also happened in March 2020. We cancelled 48 hours before we were supposed to leave because I was being stubborn and didn’t want to give it up, but ultimately it was the right choice. We went to Kauai instead and have since been to two other Hawaiian islands (Oahu and the big I). My goal is to get to Japan in the next couple of years, and bring our two boys with us!
Debra says
Loved seeing your bucket list, but would also love to see a list of where you’ve been and of those which were your favorites and why. Like you, travel energizes me!
Therese says
Iceland is definitely on my bucket list. I am unsure if I want to go in the Summer or Winter. I guess two trips are needed! I have had the opportunity to visit South Africa twice, the first time for 3 full weeks. It is absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back sometime with my husband and kids. Seeing the gorillas in Rwanda and the pyramids in Egypt are also on the list. . We also visited Colombia during a Panama Canal cruise. Would love to go back and see more of this country. Speaking of the Panama Canal, would love to sail through it again and this time actually stop in Panama! I could go on and on with other places but that’s a good start!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve done the Panama Canal cruise and stopped in Panama. It was a great one! Egypt is also on my list!
Debra says
My husband and I just returned from ten days in Egypt. It’s an absolute must for anyone who loves to travel!
The pyramids, the temples, cruising the Nile and so much more-such an incredible experience!
Jennifer says
Love this post! My bucket list includes seeing the Northern Lights, Paris, Mallorca, Peru with the Andean Explorer Train, and safari. Hopefully checking off Paris and Mallorca next year 🙂
Karen says
I would love to do a European River Cruise that stops at Christmas markets. We also want to do Fiji and as many US National Parks as possible.
Carol says
I have many international destinations on my bucket list too, but do you have anything remaining on your U.S. bucket list?
Mix and Match Mama says
I do! I would like to visit Leavenworth, WA and Maine and really get into the Carolinas…so many pretty places to see!
Susy says
How much do I love South America? Let me count the ways! My favorite two hotels/lodges in the world are in Argentina! Hiking with Guanaco, whales; penguins! Wine! Iguazu Falls—just WOW!
Chile how I love you! Wherein lies the most amazing culture and one of my two favorite restaurants in the world. And Peru—so special and unlike anything else.
Iceland—driving the Ring Road is other-worldly!
Kacy M says
Japan is a must! Anyone I know who’s been has nothing bad to say about it (and I loved it too). Went to Southern Japan last year (7 cities in 6 days) and it was amazing.
Nicole Silva says
Where did you and the others source your Oktoberfest outfits??
Mix and Match Mama says
We bought them from an authentic shop. All of the details are here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2022/10/oktoberfest-munich-2022/
