Happy THURSDAY!
‘Tis time for my annual AMAZON LATELY: NANTUCKET EDITION!

Here’s the deal, I love, love, love getting to live on this little island 30 miles out at sea a few months out of the year. It checks all of my boxes for where I like to call home…except, there is no next day Amazon Prime. Honestly, there really isn’t next week Amazon Prime. It’s more like 11 days from now Amazon Prime.
It’s like living in the Stone Age 😉 .
That being said, if you’re curious about what we Prime-ed ourselves to Nantucket in June (because heaven knows nothing I’ve ordered in July has arrived yet!), here is a little look…

THE COMFORT CRISIS is the next wellness book on my “to read” list! I like to order actual copies of these health and wellness books (instead of reading them on my Kindle) because I make so many notes and annotations. After I read it, I will review it for you.
My girls are very very in to…

…these GLASS JARS! They have been pre-making coffee drinks for breakfast and putting them in the fridge and then the next morning, they just add ice and drink.
Clearly, I did not order…

…a POLE SAW. Andrew did though because he had some trees to trim around our house.
I did order…

…these LEGGINGS! You guys, the quality of these rival my Lulu ones! They’re buttery soft, have pockets, have a great stretch (but not too stretchy where they get baggy). I bought mine in navy but they come in other colors too. I am really, really, really impressed with these.
My daughters are never more creative than when they are on Nantucket. They’re always baking, painting, crafting and this year…

…SEWING! After Mades took a sewing class last year at school, she wanted to sew more, so we bought them this SEWING SET.
Kensington and Mades in particular have been LOVING this set. It was easy enough for the two of them to figure out on their own. They bought some fabric and off they went. Great little starter set.
I am trying something new (after listening to a podcast, of course)…

…ELTA MD. This mineral sunscreen was very recommended by the dermatologists on said podcast, so I bought some. So far, I really, really like it. You know that I wear sunscreen 365 days a year on my face as my makeup primer, and I like that this one has a little tint to it (because I don’t love a white sunscreen on my face).
I have a white and a red in McKinney, but I bought…

…a navy TENNIS SKIRT for Nantucket! I LOVE this skirt! It comes in so many other colors too (clearly, I have three!).
Because I basically just wear athletic wear and swimsuits over the summer…

…I bought THIS TANK (also in other colors!) and really love it too!
One day, I need to write a blog post called “random tidbits about living on Nantucket” because one of them would include the fact that I’m on not one but TWO waiting lists for a dog groomer which means we had to buy…

…a DOG GROOMER SET to use ourselves. Apologies in advance to my poor dogs on their haircuts.
And finally, for Smith…

…loads of BARBELLS PROTEIN BARS.
And that’s a little look at Amazon lately over here on Nantucket!
Don’t forget, you have until THIS AFTERNOON to enter SHAY’S ONE BIG GIVEAWAY DAY!
Have the best day, friends! I’ll see you tomorrow! xx

Some good finds here Shay, thanks for sharing!

Maybe this will make you feel better about not having Amazon prime….I live in a country with NO AMAZON. Remember what life was like before Amazon? When I go back to the US and I order something and it arrives in a few hours I am always like…God Bless America. I can however buy Barebells protein bars and shakes which are really the best tasting out there I think…highly recommend them.
Mix and Match Mama says
That is AMAZING! What this tells me is that you live somewhere pretty darn awesome 😉 .
Heather says
Budapest, Hungary for the last 4 years and Barcelona, Spain for 5 years before that…Spain did have Amazon but it was typical Spain so they would just deliver my packages somewhere on my street and I would have to hunt them down…lol.

Comfort Crisis has been on my to-read list for so long! I may pick it up sooner than later now- could maybe even be a fun discussion post on your blog?!
Katie Stewart says
Have you tried Color Science? They make a tinted moisturizer with SPF 50. I recently switched medical spas and this was recommended. It comes out white but once you rub it in it begins to develop and adapt to your skin tone. It’s all I wear for foundation now!
Those leggings are everything! While I was pregnant, I bought three pairs of the CRZ Yoga maternity leggings and I could not get over how amazing they felt/looked after (what felt like) millions of laundry cycles!
Mix and Match Mama says
I am looking that up right now! Thank YOU!
Leslie says
Loooovve Color Science! My medspa recommends this brand too so I switched from Elta MD. Nothing wrong with Elta, but I found I prefer Color Science.
Katie Stewart says
Yes!!! I have been impressed with the durability! Especially with this SEMO heat!
SS says
I wonder if that happens with our delivery drivers. Our UPS driver recently retired and he came up to tell us goodbye. It broke my heart, but so.happy for him to have this time. He was our delivery driver when hubs and I first got married and then when we moved his route moved too to where we were, so he watched our kids grow. We miss his daily waves when he drove by.
I always leave water out, especially, in this heat and a little piece of to go candy.
Mix and Match Mama says
Well this is just the sweetest! I love that you shared this, friend!
Laura says
Also, how ironic that you commented (jokingly) about not getting overnight Prime while saying you want to read Comfort Crisis about that very type of thing 😉 I’m 100% the same way!
Mix and Match Mama says
Hahahaha! Isn’t it though?
Jami Romano says
Love the leggings too!!
Carrie Martens says
I know what you mean about the dog grooming. Our pups did not love it when we groomed them, but it got the job done and it was a lot quicker which they did love as they didn’t have to spend any time at the groomers. 😉 Good luck!
Paula Hobbs says
I love that the girls are sewing. That’s so sweet! I hope they will let mom share a couple of their projects with us. 🙂
Carly says
I was just introduced to barbells brand by a friend last night! Ordered myself a box right then and there!
Mix and Match Mama says
I am not a protein bar fan (they always leave a weird aftertaste that I just do not like), but these are not half bad…which is the ULTIMATE compliment from me concerning protein bars 😉 .
Amy says
Thanks for sharing all these great finds! I was excited to find the Barebells brand at Trader Joe’s a while back – they do taste really good! I had to stop eating them on a regular basis, though, because they have sugar alcohol as their sweetener, which bothered my stomach. Just a heads up (hopefully not an issue for any of you!). They are really delicious!
Kim says
I have recently tried built Puff protein bars sold at Costco. They do not have an aftertaste like most protein bars do. They are so good. They have collagen, 17 grams of protein and taste so good. More like a candy bar to me. Haha we really like them!
Kathy says
Just ordered that Elta MD sunscreen! I hope it does “restore” like the label says! 😉
Nicole says
You will love the Elta MD! Highly recommended from my dermatologist, too.. I’ve been using for years now & just ordered more with the sale. Thanks for sharing all of your good finds.
Sara says
I’ve been using Elta MD for years, love it, great to grab on sale! That’s so special the girls are having fun creating, I’d be curious to see what they make with the sewing machine. Have a wonderful week!
Sil says
I always love your recommendations! Thank you! Please let us know how the grooming goes. I tried grooming our 3 dogs during covid lock down but our pups were not happy about it. I could get one section of a dog done every day before they would start moving too much. I was so scared of hurting them that I would stop and do some more the next day. They looked so funny! It took me over a week to get them all groomed!! I am sure you will do a better job than I did!
Rebecca Lingerfelt-Brown says
So what you are saying is a Dog Groomer could make a living in Nantucket!😂 We have that same problem in Northlake- geez all the doodles!😉 love the sewing kit idea and put it in my cart for granddaughter down the road! 🩷
Mix and Match Mama says
YES! Please move her and become one and let me have an appointment. Please, please, please!
Beck says
Love that the girls are sewing! Would enjoy seeing what they make! A fun easy project that I loved and that everyone could use are cloth napkins in fun colorful or coastal prints 😊
Tiffany says
We groomed our Westie once. YouTube made it look so easy! It wasn’t. Fingers crossed your dogs look better than ours did!
Amy T says
I recently discovered Barebells and really like them. Has anyone in your household tried the Key Lime version? I’ve been wanting to but would love to find a single bar vs. buying a whole box. Curious your take since you love Key Lime!
Mix and Match Mama says
No but I LOVE key lime!
Lori R says
I use the Elta MD and really like it.
Melissa says
I’m going to have to try those protein bars.
Patty Anderson says
As an avid quilter, I LOVE that Mades wants to do more sewing. I took a home ec class in middle school (too bad they don’t have those anymore) and hadn’t touched a sewing machine again until well into adulthood. I’ve now made and given away well over 100 quilts. Each and every one has made me “sew” happy! Sewing feeds my soul.
Kelly Westbrook says
Thanks for sharing! I love seeing what others are Amazoning!
Laura Holmes says
Oh my gosh my girls would love those glasses too!
Maggie says
Elta MD was also recommended to me by my dermatologist, and it is a GAME CHANGER. They have unique formulas for all kinds of skin; a friend uses the acne/rosacea one and her acne even cleared up. I hadn’t seen this specific formula, but it also looks great. I recommend for anyone who’s hesitant about sunscreen being greasy or leaving a weird film; this one is so good.
Donna Rackley says
I love the sewing kit ! My oldest was really interested in sewing growing up. A kit like that would have been great to have for her!
Debbie Dehrer says
Love all the recommendations! Adding those glass jars and the sunscreen to my Amazon list.
Crystal @ www.hallaroundtexas.com says
Despite the no Amazon Prime, Nantucket sounds and looks like a total dream!!
Amanda B says
Can’t wait to hear what you think of Comfort Crisis! We are fans in this house!
Erica James says
I love that your girls love to craft and bake. When my boys were younger they use to love doing those types of things with me. Nowadays, we go to the gym and play lots of PIG (basketball game).
I’ll have to try that tinted sunscreen.
Sarie Leide says
Going to add Comfort Crisis to my TBR list. Thanks for the recommendation! Years ago, I was on a first name basis with our UPS driver. We moved away for four years and then returned to the same neighborhood and our driver remembered me. 😆
Jenn Workman says
Hi Shay!
This may not be the best post in which to share this, but it is the last thing I purchased from Amazon. I am in a book club that reads non-fiction (that is where I discovered Outlive!). This month, we are reading “Facing Violence: Preparing for the Unexpected.” But instead of meeting at our host’s home to discuss like we do every month, we are taking a self-defense class hosted by our host (she is highly trained in Martial Arts and a full-on badass)! She said that she has read the book several times, and that is extremely valuable information that truly could save our lives. I just wanted to pass along the info to all of the women in this community!
Erin says
We love the Ulta sunscreen! I haven’t tried the tinted yet.
Marisa Patel says
I have been using the elta MD sunscreen as well and so far I like it. So on the dog grooming, I sure hope you are better at it than I am because my poor dog was looking like stray after I got ahold of her HAHAHA! I purchased the skirt last month and I love it, thanks for the info!!! Also, I cannot wait to read your review of the book…not that I need to add to the list I still have not been able to get to.
Faith says
Oof, I don’t think I could even attempt grooming my dogs. One is a golden doodle. I rarely even attempt to give her a bath.
I would love to know the “recipe/ingredients” your girls use for their coffee. My niece has taken an interest in drinking coffee.
Debbie Alsip says
I have used the Elta MD tinted sunscreen and liked it. Right now I’m using a LaRoche Posay sunscreen from Europe based on the rec from MRS. DERM on Instagram. She says the European sunscreens are better because they use latest technology and formulas that the US can’t due to FDA testing requirements. I’ve used it a year and am very happy with it.
Kristy says
Comfort Crisis looks so good. I read a book by John Eldridge that sounds similar. Resilient. It’s so good! I listened to the audio book and then bought a copy for my entire family. I should read it again!
Kacy M says
Can’t sew to save my life but my niece got that exact sewing machine recently!
Persistent Solution says
Great list! Thanks for sharing this!
