Happy What’s Up Wednesday!
As always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
I know that August is totally still summer, but with “back to school” season approaching for our family, it feels like we’re wrapping up the very best parts of the season today. It’s been such a good summer, y’all.

I’m not sure how we got here so quickly…but we did…
And now this year…
…this sweet baby will be our fourth and final to go to 5th grade! You guys, after 12 years, this is our family’s last year in elementary school. Oh my word, it has FLOWN by. I remember our first year so vividly that it is truly hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that this is our last.

BOTTLE BASH is super easy to set up, everyone can play, it’s very light and packs up in to one small bag, AND it’s so much fun. If you are looking for an easy, fun game for kids, families, friends…whatever, I highly recommend.

We have been enjoying every minute we can of being in town…

I have soaked up so much time with this boy. Our breakfasts will forever be one of my favorite parts about summertime.
Speaking of this kid…
…Smith caught a shark off Smith’s Point yesterday 🙂 . He has had the BEST summer fishing!

We’re just over here taking it all in.
Closing up and leaving Nantucket is never fun at the end of the summer. Approximately two minutes after we get to McKinney, we’ll be excited and happy to be there…but leaving is never my favorite part.
We have been talking a lot about how excited we are to be on this side of Andrew’s spinal fusion. This time last year, it weighed heavy on us because Andrew was in so much pain…and yet, the unknowns of the surgery, recovery and what his mobility would be like after the fact made us nervous. Andrew would 100% say that having his spinal fusion last August was one of the very best things he’s ever done. He’s a different man now. It’s actually quite shocking how much better he is doing today than a year ago. I am VERY excited we are on this side of his surgery.

Soaking up every last second of Summer on Nantucket.
Pulling out alllllll the high school gear and cheering on my kids! Kensington will be a varsity cheerleader this year, Smith will be on the football field, Ashby is going to play middle school sports for the first time and Mades will be there every step of the way cheering everyone on. It is going to be a FULL and super fun fall.

They have amazing crab here! We out here way more than we do in Texas. We make breakfasts here every day, most lunches and at least two dinners a week.

What a fun cap to the summer! I can’t believe how grown Smith looks with the shark! Does his high school have football practice during the summer that he misses while in Nantucket? Our high school starts practice in May through the entire summer as soon as school ends.

Those Shull guys are big. He’s officially one foot taller than his mama now which is SO WEIRD! Sports for the public schools in Texas are highly regulated. Smith’s high school’s first practice isn’t until August 11 (a few days after school starts).
