Happy NOVEMBER, friends!
I don’t know about you, but I’m listening to holiday music, looking at Christmas lights, planning my Thanksgiving menu, and blogging about my Halloween.

I hope you had a spooktacular Halloween weekend. The Shull six made the most of it…it wasn’t “normal”, but we brought the Halloween fun.
Here are a few pics…

Good morning 🙂 . Listen, it was only up for two days, so I have to share as many pics as I can. It just made me SO happy!
On Halloween morning, Ashby and I…

…grabbed Starbucks for the 30 minute ride to school. I had black coffee. She had candy in a cup. Ha! It looked like a very delicious sugary concoction.
For lunch on Halloween…

…Andrew met the two of us at The Yard for a gorgeous lunch outside.

Andrew went back to work and we…

…walked around our town square 🙂 .

The weather on Friday was GORGEOUS from beginning to end.
I knew I was going to have a hot minute with five out of the six Shulls so…

…I bought a festive charcuterie board from Amazing Graze here in McKinney so that we could nibble and chat before everyone had to go their separate ways.

After we snacked, Ashby, Andrew, Mades, and I had Ghoul-ash and then he headed out with Tab to drive to the boys’ varsity football game an hour away while this girl…

…headed to cheer at her own varsity football game. I love all of my cheer mama friends who send me pics!
I snapped some pics…

…of my Care Bear and Tigger…

…and then Ashby went to a neighborhood friend’s house to trick or treat with a big group of girls.
Erika and Britt came over…

…and off we went with the Care Bear and Judy Hopps to trick or treat.

We walked and walked (and bumped into Ashby and her friends!) and got loads of candy and ran into so many friends.
When the girls were done walking, we headed back to my house so they could eat a ton of candy, and we could all watch more than half of…

…the Lovejoy football game on TV (thank you YouTube!). I love that #75!

We passed out candy, watched the game, cleaned up and then Andrew and the big kids all made their way home.
It was an unconventional way for us all to spend the day, but it was still pretty darn sweet.
Those babies just don’t keep.
I blinked and they all got really big on me.

I hope you had a wonderful Halloween and a great start to your November.
I will see you back here tomorrow. xx

Looks like you made the best of your Halloween!! Happy Monday!
Emma says
We had our first Halloween with both our toddlers fully able to participate and it was so sweet. Feels like just yesterday I was reading on your blog about halloweens when your kids were little and all trick or treating together! I’m already feeling how it goes by too fast. Also, I have to ask – how do trick or treaters get to your door with that huge (amazing) pumpkin?! Or is that part of its purpose 😂
Mix and Match Mama says
Enjoy every minute! I know it’s easy to say and often hard to do, but just try your best to savor, savor, savor those littles. Trick or Treaters (and UPS and Amazon) could walk up the right side to the sidewalk and front door 🙂 .

Looks like a fun-filled day!!
Glad you’re here to remind me to enjoy this season. The holidays overwhelm me. 💕
Corrine says
Hey. Great post. Sounded like you had a very nice albeit different than your usual Halloween. Good for you making it all work out.
I was wondering where your giant skeleton and dog yard displays were. Also, where do you hand out candy? Do you do sit outside or kids knock up? Is the giant pumpkin on the sidewalk and people walk around it. It looks like it’s blocking everything. Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
You could walk up to our front porch, so passed out candy at the door 🙂 .
Corrine says
But what happened to the giant skeleton and dog? They were my favorite!
Mix and Match Mama says
We put them back in storage to make room for the giant inflatable. They were up almost two full months, so they had a good run this year.
Paula Hobbs says
You guys were B.U.S.Y. bees, but it looks like everyone had a great time!! The pumpkin is just epic!! I’m not sure how you’re going to ever out do that one!

Oh my goodness, what a packed day and fun halloween you guys had! I love that the girls were still able to trick or treat but then you all got home and cozy and finished by watching Smith’s game! Also-I had to do a double take at the photo with Kensington. I am still getting used to her brown hair. thought she was Ebby Lee for a second! Lol! It was so cool that Halloween was on a Friday this year. Now….moving on to all the Christmas content please!! Haha.
Mix and Match Mama says
I am ON the Christmas content 😉 !
Bren says
Can’t wait, bring it on, happy holidays! 🎄
Brooke says
I’m curious about what happened to the giant human and dog skeletons. Did you just decide to change it up or did you need to take them down while Andrew was still able to do it when the tree went up?
Mix and Match Mama says
We took them down to put up the inflatable. We couldn’t get it all to fit.
Andrea says
Your giant pumpkin makes me so happy! We saw one half that size on Halloween, and my husband commented on how big it was. I laughed and got out my phone to pull up a picture of yours. It’s so fun!
Mix and Match Mama says
Now that is really funny!
K.K. says
That giant pumpkin is just NEXT LEVEL. Please tell me you have a giant Rudolph the size of your house going up next?!?! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
We don’t…but I really want one. Hahah!
Anne says
Did you see the video of the giant pumpkin like yours that started blowing away in the wind? The mom tackles it and the kids are screaming. Hilarious!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh gosh, no…but that was my worst nightmare.
Alison says
That pumpkin inflatable is simultaneously amazing and hilarious. You guys are clearly the fun family on the block. 😉

Looks like you all have a handle on the different ways life is pulling you! We went to downtown McKinney to Trick or Treat with my 7th grader and 3 yo granddaughter and it was a lot of fun. Hideaway Pizza after that and then met back up with our 17 yo and several of her friends for a slumber party at our house. You are so right, they just don’t keep.
Ruby Huling says
As a special Halloween treat, I gave my 11 year old, who is obsessed with Michael Buble, his Christmas vinyl to add to her collection! We have been listening to MB all weekend then again this morning on our way to school!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwww! I could not love this more!
Debbra says
I love your throw back pictures! Those little ones certainly do not keep. Happy November!!
Deb says
What a great Halloween! Love the charcuterie board – are those sugared cranberries? We had such bad weather with rain and wind that we only had a few truck or treaters this year – off to the food bank this morning to deliver the many unopened bags of candy.
Mix and Match Mama says
They are! They’re so delicious too! Boo for bad weather. That’s not a fun addition to Halloween night.
Sharon says
Did I miss you telling about Dancing with the Stars?
Mix and Match Mama says
You did not! Coming right up!
Lois says
Sounds like the Shulls had an EPIC Halloween! Glad the entire family was able to gather before heading off on their own adventures. You have a way of creating magical moments. I see Mades has transitioned from not eating any sweets whatsoever to being a large consumer of cake and candy. Just curious how that happened. One of my grandsons never ate sweets, and still doesn’t in his twenties. Can’t wait for the Christmas content!
Mix and Match Mama says
She is still not a sweets eater. She gave all of her Halloween candy to Kensington, ha! Kensington most definitely IS a sweets eater.
Erika Slaughter says
It was a GREAT Halloween!
Alisha says
Ok, Judy Hopps???! stop. that’s so cute!!!
Bren says
I live really rural and so we never had trick-or-treaters here at our own home. But, about maybe 15 years or so ago, our tiny hometown started the tradition where businesses stay open on our main street and there is a special hour of trick-or-treating up and down the few blocks of main street…and I absolutely love it! We are fortunate to be able to participate in trick-or-treating now from our business and oh how we love seeing all the kids in their costumes. Even more, we are now able to witness many of the kids we’ve known since they were born bring their own littles by and what a blessing that is! Like so many of us have said above, those babies don’t keep and I just love this tradition every year!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love your tradition! That sounds like something out of a Hallmark movie!
Michele says
I think next Halloween you need to decorate your pool area with life size skeletons dipping their feet into the pool while sitting on the side, sitting up on the top of the wall/fountain area posing and laying in the lounge chairs. It would be so cute
Mix and Match Mama says
That would be so cute!!
