Happy WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY, friends!
As always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
I’m switching up the order of things today and starting with…

…we’ve been busy little bees!
Isn’t that a pretty picture? 🙂
On Sunday morning, we all left Nantucket and headed back to McKinney. Thankfully, this is the last of the “travel whiplash” because you’ve never seen a bunch of people with worse attitudes arriving at DFW.
No one wanted to leave AT ALL, but we had a few final things to finish up before the second half of our summer can begin. This week has been the “dividing point” in our summer planning. We all knew that if we could get to this point, the rest of the summer would be smooth sailing.
We arrived home, enjoyed a nice Father’s Day dinner celebrating or favorite guy, and then hit the ground running on Monday. We checked off an orthodontist appointment, a dentist appointment, a hair appointment, Smith is wrapping up some football stuff this week, we squeezed in a tumbling lesson, and two school sports physicals.
Kensington and I packed and yesterday morning, she and I flew to the west coast. She packed her June FULL so that we could get to this point here (cheer camp, wisdom teeth removal, and two semesters of summer school to offset taking two classes her senior year). She was invited to participate in an educational student leadership program in California, and she has been oh so very excited. I am dropping her off today at the program and then taking the red eye from one coast to the next so that I wake up in Massachusetts tomorrow morning 🙂 . She has 31 days of clothes in her suitcase and will be making the same journey from west to east as soon as her program is finished.
We. Are. So. Excited. To. Stay. Put.
June, you have been amazing, but we are very very excited to head into JULY!

Last weekend on Nantucket…

…the two of us headed to Cru for a little dinner date. After all of these years, he’s still my favorite person.

We think oysters are always a good idea.
Smith texted me this picture later that night…

…I love that he was out fishing and thought to send his mama a photo. He caught a big striped bass on this night!
While Mades was at an art class on Friday morning…

…the three of us headed into town. I love that she always has a book with her.

This is a little general store in town. Cutest name, cutest decorations for summer.
We stopped by because I needed a few little travel items to take with me. Since I was leaving ACK and heading to California, I needed some small toiletry items to tide me over until I returned.

Flowers, flowers everywhere…

Everything is just so…

…charming.
On Saturday morning…

…Ashby and I biked to the farmers market. We do this every weekend, and it’s always one of my favorite little moments of the summer.

This time around, we came home with two candles from a husband and wife who live on island year around and make these at their home.

Weekend happiness.

We started off our Saturday afternoon at the beach…

…and then ended it at a new restaurant in town, Billie’s.
Before I knew it…

…I was back in McKinney 🙂 .

I am LOVING…

…THIS BRA 🙂 .
I just needed a wireless, comfortable, wear around the house, easy to wear, basic bra. I tend to wear my beloved STRAPLESS ONE every day, but sometimes, a girl just needs a comfy, soft one. I love this one! It’s on sale now too!

Last month, I told you I was dreading Kensington getting her wisdom teeth removed, but honest to goodness, it wasn’t that bad. I thought I’d give a little update because several of you have reached out as your kiddos are about to go through the same thing.
She had all four extracted, and it really only took about 30 minutes. When it was over, she was able to walk into the room where I was waiting and then to the car. She was chatty (always chatty) the whole way home and watched TV the rest of the day.
I would say she was swollen for about six days but outside of taking Tylenol the first day, she wasn’t in any pain. She was out and about and driving on day four (swollen but with makeup on and out of the house).
THIS ICE PACK was a life saver though (a blog reader rec!)! She wore it 24/7 the first three days and the intermittently after that.

J-U-L-Y!

My June Book Review is going to be REALLY GOOD! Make sure you stay tuned for that at the end of the month. In the meantime, if you need a new book to read, please, please join us for our next Book Club…

Next month, we will be ready The Calamity Club and based on the comments, this is going to be a GREAT mid-summer read!

On Monday morning, I was GIDDY when the latest episode of Acquired dropped.
This month, they’re breaking down…

….eeeeeeeks!
You guys know how much I love Acquired, so I was extra extra excited to see that this was their company of focus. I tried to share my enthusiasm with my husband and his response was something to the effect of “who would listen to a 4 hour and 31 minute podcast on Disney?”. Me, Andrew. ME!!!!!!!!!

All the things this month from a big variety of places…

RAFFIA PLATFORM SANDALS with MY SHORTS and TANK for the win!

Who doesn’t love a set?! I do, I do! I bought mine in BLUE, but it comes in so many other combos.

TANK + LINEN BLEND SHORTS + SANDALS for an easy #ootd!
I bought the shorts in “coastal blue”, but they come in 8 other options too!

THESE SUPER COMFY SANDALS. I love them so much that they made their way to Nantucket with me too.

MY LINEN SHORTS make the cutest coverup or easy weekday outfit!

How cute is THIS DRESS?! This is a great Tuckernuck “dupe”!
THIS DRESS comes in so many other color combos too! I wore it with MY WEDGES 🙂 .

The Shull girls can’t quit THESE LULU SLIDES! I bought them in navy, but they come in many other colors too. They feel like you’re walking on clouds when you put these on.

THIS SKIRT on repeat in June! I have it in white, but it comes in other colors too.
Speaking of skirts…

…you know I’m a sucker for a TENNIS SKIRT! This one is oh so extra cute!
TENNIS SKIRT + GAUZE TOP + SANDALS (currently 63% off!)

And finally…BEACH SWEATER + LINEN PANTS + SANDALS + MY TOTE for summer.

A whole lot of Nantucket things.

I am so excited because both my parents AND Andrew’s parents have been on cruises this month. Andrew’s parents just returned home yesterday (they were gone three weeks!), and my parents will be home in a few days, I am so excited to see all of their pics and hear all about their vacations.
Don’t forget, Mix and Match Travel Agency is so excited because…

…we have an EXCLUSIVE OFFER for the June 21-25, 2027 Utopia of the Seas sailing!
This time next year, YOU COULD BE ON A CRUISE!!!!

Woohoo!

Your mama heart must be so proud of Kensington. Now that I’m a mom of two littles, this accomplishment made me tear up for you. What do your older two want to study in college?!
Mix and Match Mama says
Enjoy those littles! They will get big really, really fast!

How exciting for Kensington to get to do something so fun in CA this summer! That’s amazing!! And I can’t wait to read The Calamity Club–I’m next on the list for it at the library!

The Calamity Club is one of the best books Ive ever read!
Sheaffer says
Is it weird to want oysters for breakfast? Because I wouldn’t say no to an oyster right now. Or a Bloody Mary.
Grace says
I agree too! LOL

This made me smile this morning, I was reading and scrolling and came to the picture with the window box of flowers. I sighed and said out loud “So charming”, only to read your next comment of “charming”. 😊So excited to visit beautiful Nantucket someday and see all the charming sites!
Well isn’t this great timing! I have a 4-hour car ride ahead of me later this week, just finished up my latest audiobook and you just shared about a 4+ hours WDW podcast on Acquired. Looks like I know what I will be listening to! I love Disney, but especially have enjoyed, over the years, learning of how the company came to be and has grown.
Safe travels, Shay, and enjoy some uninterrupted time on Nantucket in the coming month!
Mix and Match Mama says
Enjoy your car ride! You will love the podcast episode!

I know you said you’re done your piercings but I would highly recommend a forward helix piercing! You inspired me to get others but the forward helix is also one of my favorites
Mix and Match Mama says
I need to consider it! I’ll look at a stack right now on Pinterest that includes it!

Super random question for you! Between your move to your current Mckinney house (long time reader here), setting up house on Nantucket, and the renovations you’ve done at your houses, any tips or Shay’s Ways on handling all that? We’re moving locally right now and even just ordering and unboxing furniture and decor alone feels like a full time job especially on top of having little kids, lol!
Mix and Match Mama says
Well, this stuff doesn’t bring out the best in me. I haven’t moved very often, so I don’t know that I have any tips (so many blog readers probably do though!), but anytime I have done even the tiniest bit of renovations, I have to work on my attitude. I don’t like noise or mess or clutter or mess or mess…it’s always worth it, but it’s not my favorite.
Grace says
So my mind is on food, but did you cook the striped bass Smith caught that night? That photo of the beach in the evening was just amazing too!
Mix and Match Mama says
We did! We didn’t cook all of it because it was huge (we froze what we didn’t eat), but we pan seared it. It was delicious! Our freezer is full of Smith’s fish and his venison from hunting and fishing on Nantucket.
