Happy FRIDAY, friends!

Bahahaha! Because…yes.
I hope you have all had a wonderful week!
Thank you so so much for spending time with me here. You truly do not understand how much it means to me.
If you missed our first annual ELIN HILDERBRAND DAY yesterday, make sure you pop over there. I knew it would be a fun day…but you guys made it EXTRA fun! Now, all I want to do is start over and re-read all of her books from the beginning. And then watch another episode of The Five-Star Weekend 😉 .
I hope YOU have your own five-star weekend this weekend.
(And since it’s a summer Friday that means you can start that weekend now 🙂 . )
Okay, today, I have rounded out a few of my favorite things from the week and am sharing them with you PLUS, I’m announcing the winner of our giveaway too!
As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and wishing you a HAPPY WEEKEND!

Let’s start with the BIG ONE…

…this week, I hosted my ANNUAL #NSALE GIVEAWAY!
If you missed THAT POST, make sure you hop back over and check it out because I shared a few of my favorite finds from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like…

…and so much more!
Our giveaway ended yesterday which means today, I can announce our winner!
Congratulations ANGELA JORDAN! YOU WON THE $500 NORDSTROM GIFT CARD!
Angela, I emailed you this morning! Please email me back ASAP to claim your prize 🙂 .

Another Fave this week was on Monday when…

…Ashby, Mades, and I went to see the live action Moana in the theater!
You guys, we are BIG Moana people! BIG.
Can we just take a moment to relive this Halloween costume…

…I mean have you EVER seen a cuter Moana?!
Needless to say, we have been counting down to the live action movie. Nantucket has one movie theater with two screens inside, so movie options are a little limited. It’s super small town and very quaint.
When we showed up on Monday, we went to the concession stand and bought our popcorn and drinks. I asked the guy behind the counter if he needed to scan my tickets and he said, “Nope, you’re the Shulls, right?”. Um, yes. Yes, we are.
How did he know this?
Because…

…we were the only ones who had tickets. Hahahaha! You guys, we had our own private screening of Moana. So fancy, right? Ha! It actually made watching the movie extra fun because we could really laugh, chat about things we loved, etc as it went on.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this might just be my favorite of the Disney live action movies. It’s just really, really cute! The Rock is AMAZING in it. Every time he opened his mouth, it was funny.
Two big thumbs up!

Currently in my dress era…

…a DRESS WITH SEASHELLS? Yes, please!

They’re embroidered on the dress. So pretty, right?!
Also…

…how beautiful is THIS NAVY & SKY BLUE DRESS?! My earrings are HERE.

So, so pretty!
And I wore this earlier this week to run errands and felt oh so pulled together…

…A TEE SHIRT DRESS 🙂 . It comes in solids too, but I loved the stripe! I bought all three in XS.
When I saw…

…THIS TENNIS SKIRT, it was a “must” 🙂 .

You know how much I love a tennis skirt. But a tennis skirt that’s blue and white WITH WHALES?! So cute! I wore it with my GAUZE TOP (of course!).

A little around town is always a Fave…

…I wish I could stay all fall and capture these places in their fall glory too.

On Monday night, we “re-visited” a restaurant out in Sconset that we hadn’t been to in two years (they were closed all last year)…

…The Summer House and by the time we had left, all six Shulls voted it the best meal we’ve had all season (and we have had A LOT of good meals!).
So many things make The Summer House original but one of them is the views. We had a table on the porch which meant…

…gorgeous ocean views!

Here’s a pic of that side of the table…

…and one of this side.
The Summer House was a buzz of people, live piano music, dining indoors and out…it was all very festive especially for a Monday night.

I had the seafood risotto, and it was absolutely delicious! Best. Meal. Of. The. Summer.
Ashby had the risotto as well, Kensington had the chowder, Mades had the bolognese, Smith and Andrew each had a fish dish…we all loved everything.

Blurry, silly, happy smiles on our way back to the car.

An evening snap of the front of the restaurant. Isn’t it lovely?

I don’t typically make restaurants Friday Faves, but this was an exceptional evening, so I wanted to share. If you are able to make a reservation, I highly recommend it. You will need to take a cab/Uber to and from town, but it will be worth it…

Walking back to the car with a full stomach and happy heart.
Don’t forget, you can see a complete list of my favorite Nantucket Restaurants HERE.

And finally…

It’s time for my annual round up of SUMMER CORN RECIPES!
From good old cornbread to pastas, tacos, burgers and more, there is a corn recipe in here for everyone 🙂 .
Thank you for being here this week with me. I’m excited to see you all back here tomorrow too.
Enjoy your summer Friday! xx

Looks like a good week! I got a good haircut and had 2 very good days with our youngest grandchildren, a sweet celebratory dinner with our oldest, and a text from the least communicative. Praise God for this good life He blesses us with!

We loved the live action Moana, too! My 3 year old immediately asked to watch it again as soon as the credits started rolling. Here’s hoping it lands on Disney+ soon 😉

Shay,
I remember that Moan and thought back then How CUTE! How fantastic to be tht only ones. We have a small theatre near us and we would go when kids were in school and it sometimes it was just us or a couple others. We took youngest kiddo to see the original Top Gun in May …in tht whole theatre only 7 people!!!
Have a wonderful weekend.and hopefully tht smoke isn’t lingering down to you all! It has been so bad here!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love that you get to do this too, friend!
SS says
Shay,
I forgot to ask do your girls still watch the Descendants movies on Disney? I know a new one came out yesterday. We will be watching it tonight. Not the same as the original cast…but we are this far into it…so we keep watching. LOL!! We will be making some Kool aid cookies (RED), of course to have with our movie!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
They do!!! They were so excited it came out yesterday. That’s on tap for us tonight!

As an Arkansan, I love that fact that you all are not dressed like you are eating on the surface of the sun. None of you look like you’re melting. We are having days in the 90s with “Real Feel” in the 100s. I grew up in Florida so I’m as used to it as you can be but by the end of August – I will really be ready to want to eat outside again. Right now you couldn’t pay me enough. It is way way too hot.
Mix and Match Mama says
As a Texan, I love this fact about us too. Bahahaha!
SS says
We are up in Michigan… and it has been hot like that in spurts..so we melt!!! The worst is the smoke right now! It is so bad!!! I know the neighbors to the north are suffering…but officials here are saying stay inside as much as possible. At night we are usually out playing cards on the deck..but we haven’t been able to for about 3 days. The sky is literally gray…miserable.
Have a GREAT weekend!!
Paula Hobbs says
You are hitting the dresses out of the park this year! Love them all!!!
Erika Slaughter says
AWWWW!!! Baby Moana was absolutely precious!!

Mades as Moana wins Halloween forever and ever.
Holly C says
Mades was truly the real life Moana…. so cute!!!

Finished watching 5 star weekend last night with all the girlfriends who traveled to Nantucket last September! We loved the series especially the beginning scene driving up to her house, its where we had our picture taken by one of the production team while they were filming last year! Never tire of beautiful Nantucket!
Kristin Etzel says
I think you should do a Five Star Weekend scouting post – show us all the filming locations and give us a behind the scenes peek of what is real in the show vs what was not! The whole time I was watching it I was thinking What Would Shay Think about this portrayal of “the Tuck” (and do ppl say that??) 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh, I didn’t mention this in the post earlier this week celebrating all things Elin Hilderbrand (because I wanted it to be only good vibes!), but I have never, ever, EVER heard it referred to as “The Tuck”. Did that come from the book? Or was that a “TV add in?”. I can’t remember. So far, I would say a lot of the exterior shots are from Nantucket but not the interior shots (like inside Bartlett’s Farm in episode one).
