Hello Tuesday!
It’s homecoming week #2 around here and let me just tell you…I’m not sure I was built for two weeks in a row of hoco. Bahahaha!
Erika and I talked on the phone approximately 700 times yesterday and 699 of those calls were about how were we going to survive #allthethings this week.
It’s only Tuesday, and we’ve had a cheer family cookout, Broncofest, and a parade. I was scrambling yesterday to have two banners made for the parade. Pro tip (thank you, Erika!) is that Walgreens can print a really nice banner really fast for very little money. Who knew I needed that tip? Not me! In case you do too, there you go 🙂 .
So that’s where I am on this October 6th. I’m frazzled homecoming mom.
If you’re following along with my 31 DAYS OF OCTOBER RECIPES, today’s recipe is a really good one…

…it’s my PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHUNK CUPCAKES!
And then bonus PUMPKIN (it is October after all), today, I am also sharing my…

….CHEESY PUMPKIN BACON BREAD! You guys, this bread is DELICIOUS!
Today, we have PUMPKINS + PRIME as it’s time for an AMAZON LATELY: FALL EDITION!
I love seeing the random mix of what people buy on Amazon. I chuckle to myself when I open a box that contains underwear and dog food. Ha! I mean…only Amazon, right?
Okay since it’s October, of course, I must start with…

…all things PUMPKIN like MY SLIPPERS 🙂 .
They just make me so happy every.single.year.
Speaking of pumpkins, I recently Prime-d myself…

…this little tiny GOOSEBERRY PATCH PUMPKINS cookbook. It’s so small and yet fills me with such joy. I’ve mentioned this many times before, but I love Gooseberry Patch because of the little story telling they do with each recipe. They’re often just a sentence or two, but each one is just COZY!

And because one must have a PUMPKIN CLAW CLIP this time of year 🙂 .
For our trip to New York City, we knew we needed to bring…

…UMBRELLAS! So I bought…

…two of THESE UMBRELLAS before we left to add to our suitcases. They were light, compact, and worked so well…even in an Nor’easter!
Yesterday, I shared our FALL HOME TOUR…

…and in case you were wondering what that is behind the couch…

…it’s an INFLATABLE BARREL for tumbling 🙂 .

When I sit in the carpool line, I try to do something other than scroll on my phone. I often read a book, but lately, I’ve been doing this POCKET SUDOKU while I listen to an audiobook. It’s small enough that it fits in my glovebox.

I needed a fresh set of LIQUID CHALK MARKERS for my acrylic wall calendar. Over the years, I’ve tried different brands, but I always come back to this one because the colors and nice and vibrant.
I just bought two more pairs of…

…MY FAVORITE LEGGINGS! I am replacing every pair I have with these one by one (or two by two!). They are the very very best.

If you have a doggie that needs a cone, let me suggest one of THESE instead (if the vet thinks it’s appropriate). They are just so much easier and more comfy. We have used them several times now, and they always work like a charm. Recently, Poppy had a spot removed on her side that we didn’t need her biting and nipping at, so instead of the cone, we used this. I cannot recommend them more!
On Friday night, it was supposed to POUR at the Lovejoy game, so I came with three umbrellas, a sweatshirt, a jacket, and…

It did not rain.
I am keeping these ponchos in my trunk though for future games. Sitting out in the rain unprepared is the worst!
Speaking of THE WORST…

…I don’t know about you, but as I transition from sandals to boots, my feet take a beating. THESE ARE LIFESAVERS! They are significantly better than just using a Band Aid.

THIS SWEATER on repeat this fall…

…I wore it just yesterday again too. It’s perfect for transitional weather and comes in many other colors too!

This SOFT CHUNKY CARDIGAN comes in lots of color options as well!
And finally…

…THIS JACKET! It’s a really thin, cropped jacket that’s so easy to layer. I bought the buffalo plaid because it’s both Lovejoy colors AND it looked “holiday” to me, but it comes in SO MANY VERY FALL PRINTS TOO! Love.
Alrighty, don’t forget, you can catch my most recent TOP 10 FAVORITE PRIME FINDS post too and you can always take a look at MY AMAZON STOREFRONT where I’m sharing so many of my favorite PRIME DEALS!
PUMPKINS + PRIME on this Tuesday!
I hope you have the best, best, best day! I’ll see you back here tomorrow. xx

As a fellow Disney person, you have two items listed back-to-back that are a must bring for our Disney vacations – the ponchos and the blister band-aids! The ponchos fit so nicely in even our small bags and anytime we travel, those band-aids are a must. Now I’m off to look at those umbrellas to add to our list too. Thanks, Shay!
Mix and Match Mama says
The ponchos are the perfect size for little belt bags at Disney! Both are great suggestions to add to your Disney bag!

“It did not rain.” had me LOLing!! Isn’t that the way it always turns out?? But great idea keeping some in the car! I keep an umbrella in my car but never thought about a poncho, smart!
Mix and Match Mama says
I was SO PREPARED!
Tara G. says
My dancer uses 2nd Skin squares- another blister option.

Shay,
I have made Walgreens banners for graduation parties… You can add more pix than the 4 as well!!! They turned out well. I have made 4 in the last like 5 yrs! Plus, there is usually a promo code somewhere to get even more off!
So the barrell is for you to practice your gymnastics or the girls? 😆
We have a little bag full of ponchos and we keep it in the car too!! Always be prepared!!! Like Mary Poppins…that’s what kiddos say… Mom you always have what we need like Mary Poppins. 😆

Truly the best deal online! The quality was excellent, but I also couldn’t get over how quickly they were able to do it. I would be lying if I didn’t admit to trying to do a back handspring off of it myself. That is clearly a skill I lost at 18 and will not be recovering. 😉
SS says
Shay… too funny!! I never did a back handspring! You are very tricky!
Maybe you just need it to stretch!!! LOL

You’ve inspired me! I’ve accomplished a miracle over — I got all my pumpkin decor out this past weekend! (It also helps that my daughter is a new kindergarten teacher and needed to shop my collectibles for her pumpkin week!) No matter how it got done I’m sitting amongst pumpkins 🎃 and it’s not the night before Halloween!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!!!! This makes me so happy! Happy pumpkin season!

I just ordered the cropped jacket in 2 colors and sizes. It’s so cute so I hope one of them works for me. It’s hard for me to say no to a plaid jacket 😄
Laci Murray says
ordering the dog suits now! mine have surgery end of this month.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m so sorry your pup is having surgery, but I think you will find this suit SO MUCH BETTER than the cone.

My granddaughter who is only 9 has tumbling stuff all over her house and a few things at my house too. I currently have a giant square that folds out to a triangle. She doesn’t “need” it for the skills she is working on but it’s fun to prop up against a swivel chair and do somersaults down it. I’m going to have grey hair. Good luck with the homecoming week. It is more work for girl moms than boy moms and more work for cheerleader moms than anyone and if she is a senior and a cheerleader – God bless you and Erica. (and even your husbands because although they don’t doooo anything except listen to you all have a breakdown over it ALL – they need sympathy too). I hope you all have a great week.

Shay, I love that plaid jacket! I love it even more in my autumn colors-thanks for sharing! I’m curious: have you ever had your colors done? It would be such a GREAT blog post! We all have our favorite colors, but often they’re not the BEST colors for our complexions. And now they suggest hair and makeup colors, too. It’s amazing how the correct season of colors can truly brighten up and enhance a woman’s natural, God-given beauty!
And in case you’re wondering, I am not a color analysis expert myself, but I have had my colors done. I’d love to see what season you are and the colors an expert might suggest for your hair and makeup. It could be just a tweak of what you currently do or something very different. But finding out your BEST colors is so fun and enlightening! I think you’d love the experience and the results! And again, it would be such a great blog post for us! ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
I have not had my colors done, but I have a few friends who have and loved it. I always, always love blog post ideas!
Laurie says
I am cracking UP because ever since my friends and I had our colors/seasons dome, I’ve been thinking about suggesting it to you too. Feels like it’s right up your alley!
Betting you’re a summer btw.

That adorable little gooseberry went right into my cart this morning🎃 what a great find!
Elizabeth says
The amount of chalk/wet erase markers I have purchased (and hated) is astounding. Who knew this was such a difficult item?! I am going to give your suggestion a try!
Mix and Match Mama says
ME TOO! ME TOO!
Heather says
So grateful for that Walgreens banner tip!! And for the reminder that I need to order a new umbrella too!!
Sara says
I love those brown Mary Jane’s! Would you please share the link if you don’t mind? Thank you!!
