Have you ever been to Northern Michigan in the fall? I just spent the week in Bellaire, MI with my husband for our anniversary. We golfed, hiked, kayaked, and went wine tasting in Traverse City. I thought of you as I saw the leaves changing, pumpkins, apples, and farm markets. Definitely worth a visit in the fall or summer for that matter.

I’m serving your bacon and spinach quiche (I’ve tweaked the recipe over the year and use Swiss and Gruyère cheese!) AND your pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!! Happy, October, Shay! I took your advice and made October 1st extra special. I was off work, so I was able to get my first PSL of the season, ate pumpkin waffles, had ALL the windows open all day while puttering around the house. It was a blissful 60 degrees and overcast. Swoon. I had my autumn playlist going and enjoyed a walk to see the colors starting to turn.
Your trip to NYC with Kensington looked amazing. All of your and K’s outfits were on point and gorgeous.

I came across this giveaway from last year looking for a recipe and was thinking I had missed it this year. So glad I was able to enter! October is super busy for me and we are still in the 90s (and may have hit 100 yesterday – ugh) so I need reminders of the joys of Fall! This morning I made pumpkin spice muffins this morning. It is homecoming week for the University I work at and there is an event tonight for Speech and Debate, which I competed in the late 90s and then came back to direct in 2007. Lots of people I have not seen in a long while. So, it is a nice way to kick off the month! Thanks for the reminders of Fall!

Love your intentional way of looking at a day, and celebrating blessings! Fall is the most fleeting month, in my opinion, so maybe I relish it more? I don’t know if wiener roasts are a thing in Texas, but that has been my birthday party for years- thanks to being an October baby! Roasting hot dogs and s’mores, and enjoying fresh pressed apple cider. It’s tradition!

We are really enjoying the fall season too! Our daughter won’t be able to be home for the holiday season again this year so we are making the most of the time she gets to spend with us during this season! It is the best weather too! Love everything about this post! We had our 3rd rainiest September here, with the other two being in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s so no recollection of that! But since the change to October?
