It’s the last Wednesday of the month which means that today is What’s Up Wednesday!

Allllllll the fall sports…
On Friday night, we had another nail biting game in Colleyville against the Panthers. This stadium is two minutes from my parents’ house, so we were able to meet them plus all the Slaughters for a pre-game dinner before screaming and hollering our way through four quarters.

…we found ourselves at Lovejoy High cheering on Ashby! She had her best time to date in a meet! We are SO proud of her!!
I’ve mentioned this before, but I don’t love taking my dogs outside in the backyard when it’s really dark because there is a whole slew of creatures that live back. I head out with my air horn every.single.time just so I have something loud to blow to scare off a “friend”. I go out there prepared for coyotes. And bobcats. And armadillos.
The other morning, I was out there in the dark with my air horn walking around barefoot in the grass while the dogs went potty. Unless it’s cold, I always go out barefoot because I don’t want my slippers to get dirty, and I’m too lazy to get shoes. Well Yankee got spooked and sprinted back to the house which spooked me and made me go inside. I told Andrew something was out there, so he went to investigate. Then I heard that super calm yet authoritative husband voice tell me to walk forward and keep an eye on the big SNAKE in the grass while he went to get something to move it away. For the love, I don’t think snakes are scared of air horns, so now, I’m in real trouble out there. Sigh.

Perhaps I have been living under a rock, but until a few days ago, I had never heard of this series…
…apparently, this show originally aired on Fox but now, you can catch it on Netflix. I opened my Netflix app and saw it was trending, so I downloaded the first few episodes for my flights this weekend to and from New York. So far, it’s cute!
It’s about a Boston surgeon who moves to a small town in Maine. It’s very “Doc Hollywood-ish” (he’s kind of a jerk, there is a cute girl and a cast of small town quirky characters), but it was light and easy to watch.
Me and everyone else in the world have spent the last month listening to…
…on repeat.
Not only that, but I’ve heard a handful of marching bands play 9 to 5 this month at football games, and I even went to hot yoga once this month and she declared it “Dolly Day” in class.

After two years in a row, this is the first year that Lovejoy and McKinney Boyd haven’t had the same hoco date and this mama could NOT be more excited about that.
