Believe it or not, it’s the last Wednesday of October which means…

…it’s What’s Up Wednesday!

Oh how I wish we could hit pause right now.
I was reading a Fiona Ferris book last week and she said something to the effect of “savoring special moments instead of strangling them”. I’m paraphrasing a bit, but dang, that convicted me.
Hi, my name is Shay, and I love celebrating special moments so much that I absolutely can “strangle” one instead of just sitting back and savoring it. I could (and probably should) do an entire blog post on this topic just because it’s one I often struggle with especially around the fall/holiday season. Instead of just “being” in a moment and enjoying it, I can sometimes think “this is so special, I don’t want this to end, I love this so much” and basically strangle the life out of the moment.
This week/weekend, my goal is to try and savor and not strangle. I shall be repeating that to myself from now until January. Savor don’t strangle. Savor don’t strangle.
If you are really in to this fun season like me, make sure you check out a few of my favorite posts for this time of year like MY TIPS FOR A COZY HALLOWEEN NIGHT or for this week’s TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE: HALLOWEEN or last year’s TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE: FALL (I know you’re shocked that I could possibly come up with five things I don’t love about this glorious season!).
Okay, as always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Happy October, friends!

I should have taken a photo of this meal, but I didn’t…so let me just explain.
Smith asked if we could have meatball subs for dinner this week. I made my EASY BAKED MEATBALLS a little before dinner and just kept them on warm in my slow cooker. When we were ready to eat, I split a part sub rolls and toasted them in the oven on 400 degrees about 4 minutes. After they toasted, I added my meatballs (three) to half of each roll (leaving the top on the tray to toast but not adding any sauce/meatball) followed by a sprinkle of both shredded mozzarella and shredded provolone. I popped the cookie sheet back into the oven to melt the cheese (about 2 minutes) and then removed it and topped it with the other half of the sub roll. Easy as that…and my kids LOVED them.
It was such a crazy easy meal and they have already asked me to make it again.
If you need a recipe idea, there you go. I’ll take a pic next week when I make them again and share. So simple!

Kensington texted Andrew, Ebby Lee, and me over the weekend and said that she’s ready for us to head back…

…to Newport, Rhode Island again 🙂 . We all three said “ME TOO!”.

I have been reminiscing about that trip this week and boy, it was A GREAT ONE!

You can read the recaps HERE. It will give you all the fall vibes.

I haven’t really been watching anything on TV this month besides…

My sweet friend texted me and asked if I ever listen to…

…I had not, but you guys, I am now! It’s on YouTube and you can hear a little rain and sometimes a fireplace in the background along with the music.
It’s so so cozy. I have loved turning it on while I work.
