I cannot believe this is the last WUW of the year.  Where has the time gone?  It’s true what they say…the days are long, but the years are short.  I kind of want time to stop.

As we wrap up 2017, here’s a little look at what’s up with me today.  Wishing you the warmest Wednesday, friends. xo

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

12 Savory & Sweet Christmas Recipes

Cranberry Jalapeno Bites

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

We have been talking a lot about Christmas 2014 around here.  Just three days after Christmas that year, we left to get Ashby.  It was SUCH an exciting time!!!  We’ve been trying to share with Ashby about how excited we all were that year and how we could not wait for Christmas to be over so that we could head to China.

3: WHAT I’M LOVING:

This sweater and boot combination.  I wore it twice last week.  The sweater is so soft (and comes in multiple colors) and the boots are soooo comfy (and cute!!).  This outfit is on repeat over here.

THIS DRESS.

Oh goodness, this dress has a surprise inside that I was not expecting when I ordered it.  Wait for it…it feels like a sweatshirt.  #amen

I bought this dress in black (it comes in two other colors too) and when it arrived and I tried it on, it felt like cozy pajamas.  #winning

It’s a dress that feels like a sweatshirt.  Basically, it’s amazing.

4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Livin’ our best December life!  We’ve been spending a lot of time on our town square because it’s just so darn FESTIVE!

5: WHAT I’M DREADING:

That moment when I have to take down my Christmas decorations.  If it were acceptable, I’d leave them up year around.

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Not a darn thing.

We’re, of course, handling trips in progress right now over at Mix and Match Travel Agency, but other than that, we’re “closed” for the Christmas holiday and will reopen the week of January 8th.  At that time, we will be accepting trips departing after April 1 for Walt Disney World, cruises and Mexican all-inclusives.  In the meantime, I’m enjoying the time off with my family.  We have a fun trip planned and are so excited for some time away together!

7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

Last year, we headed to NYC after Christmas and decided that it was so much fun traveling right after the big day that we’re going to do it again this year too.  I’m ready for lots of cozy family time!!

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

My 2017 Book Review (where I recap all of the books I read this year plus name my favorite!) will be on January 5!  If you missed my 2016 Book Review…

…can’t stop.  I love this show!!!  I’m so glad so many of you suggested it to me this year!!

 

9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

24/7

Seriously, I basically listen to it in my sleep 🙂 .

10: WHAT I’M WEARING:

Right this very minute…

…these pajamas and slippers.  I would take a pic, but it’s 4:57 AM and it might frighten you 😉 .

11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

CHRISTMAS!!!!!

On Friday night, we have one last “framily” night with the Slaughters, on Saturday night, we are having our Christmas Eve Eve dinner and then on Sunday and Monday, my house is going to be crawling with family as we celebrate Christmas together!

12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

This handsome boy turns eight.  Eight!  How can that be?!?!  He’s getting a very special birthday celebration this year!!

 

13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Whew!  I think that’s it!!

Bonus question this month: What is the best gift you’ve ever given a guy?

Why are guy gifts so hard?!?  I will say that for Father’s Day this year, I gave Andrew a smoker…and it’s the perfect gift because he loves smoking different kinds of meats and such and I enjoy the yummy return on my investment 🙂 .  #winning #whendadmakesdinner

    I grew up in cranberry country. Look up Rubi Reds in Wisconsin Rapids – best craisins you’ll ever eat. The chocolate covered ones are great, too.

      We’re not going to NYC! We’re just going somewhere after Christmas again like last year when we went to NYC 🙂 . A new adventure awaits!

      Not at all!! I removed the seeds and ribs for less heat, and it’s only one divided between 3 dozen cups.

    Two separate gifts that were perfect for my guy:

    1. I got an over sized map created to hang on a wall so he can pin all of his travels, its fun to look out and always exciting to add a pin! I had it customized so he has a pin color for work trips and a different pin color for fun trips.

    2. I wrapped up a crisp $10 bill and surprised my guy with tickets to Hamilton in Chicago. I coordinated with brother and SIL, so we had a trip to look forward to with family!

    My husband has a thirty minute commute to work, and we have an older commuter car that he drives, so it’s not set up with Bluetooth. I gave him Sirius XM Radio for Christmas this year, and he loves it!

    Hi! I’m curious what speakers you use in your home to play music. I’ve noticed when you screenshot it has them labeled. Do you use Sonos?

    So sad seeing Christmas and 2017 coming to an end ? Can’t wait to see where you guys are heading on vacation. Have you ever seen the TV movie “The Night They Saved Christmas”? It was originally on in 1985-ish. If you haven’t, based on your other Christmas faves, you would enjoy it! It’s my absolute favorite.

    I tend to gift guys clothes bc they always wear the same things and I know it will be put to good use. I gave one guy friend a personalized Spurs jersey once for his bday and he loved it (it was pricey but worth it).
