Black Friday Faves!

It’s Black Friday!!!

I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again…Andrew Shull loves Black Friday shopping.  I love sitting in my bed watching a Hallmark movie and online shopping, but not my husband.  He likes the chase in stores.  This works well for me when we need a new TV 😉 .  He will research it, stay up late for it and bring that bad boy home.

Today, I’m adding to and taking away some of my favorite things from last year’s Black Friday list because, hello?!  I still love so many of these things for holiday gift giving!  Over this last year, I’ve kept me a little list of things to also include, so this is a supersized edition of my Black Friday Faves.

Price points are all over the place here.  There are some super affordable things and then some bigger items too (for when you really want to splurge).  So, sip your coffee, scroll and check out my Black Friday Faves for 2018!  Also, make sure you COME BACK MONDAY…

…because things are about to get FUN!!!!

Here we go, my list of favorites for the holidays this year…

This board game HERE has been a huge hit at my house this year!

I’ve told you about this jewelry carrier all year long.  It has gone with me on every single trip this year…

…it’s perfect for taking your jewelry places!

I made a big case for the T3 Curling Wands last year.  They would be an excellent gift this year (so would the Dyson dryer!).

This black truffle infused hot sauce…yessssssssss!  For the foodie in your life!

This rapid car charger is something so simple, but I LOVE IT!!

My friend Amanda makes so many super cute cups, but this one is my favorite going into the New Year with all those resolutions and such 😉 .

I know this is random, but my favorite all natural deodorant would make a good stocking stuffer…especially for tween and teen girls!

I love Dr. Teal’s Foaming Bath!

These Nickel & Suede earrings are so wonderful because they’re LIGHT!  They come in lots of colors, sizes and styles…

You know I’ve been Costco-ing a lot lately.  Here’s a snapshot of my cart the other day.  I picked up Lego Advent Calendars, Judy Blume Books, Little People Princesses and both Moana and Elsa.  Santa was very pleased with herself!

For the busy lady (or guy!) in your life…an Instant Pot.  I would buy them this book to go with it as well…

Well, you know how much I love my Apple Watch.  I’m on my third one!  You can read my review of the Apple Watch 3 HERE.

This North Face jacket keeps me warm and cozy.  I love it because it’s light and not bulky yet WARM!

Whoa!  This is a big gift…but if you’re looking for ways to work out at home and/or love indoor cycling, we are still IN LOVE with our Peloton!  One of us uses it every.single.day.  You can read my review HERE.

Pajamas make great gifts!  Also, my Ugg slippers are THE most worn item in my closet.  They are on my feet EVERY MINUTE I’M IN MY HOUSE.  You could get different ladies in your family all different colors.

I have talked about this robe approximately 4 billion times and am currently wearing it while I type this (because I wear it EVERY.DAY!)  This is hands down, without a doubt, my very favorite robe.  It is just soooooo soft!  It also comes in multiple colors!

I have given and received the gift of Hunter rain boots over the years.  One year, I bought three ladies in my family all three different colors.  These are such classic boots that they will have forever.

I am obsessed with Hunter boots.  They keep your feet dry and warm in both rain and snow.  Plus, they’re COMFY!

I heart the Barrington Bag!  I’ve been giving them as holiday gifts for years and years!

They’re very personal to give.  Love, love, love Barrington!!

I am obsessed with my Erin Condren Life Planner!  My whole entire life is inside of mine.  With January 1 right around the corner, wouldn’t that make the perfect gift?!

Love, love, love!!

I have gifted these personalized necklaces and bracelets for every occasion (Christmas, birthdays, mother’s day, graduation, etc).  I’m obsessed with gifting these!

You order them right from Stella & Dot.  Easy as that!

Santa brought our kids these sleeping bags a few years ago and they’re the gift that keeps on giving 🙂 .

Santa also brought our kids these giant beanbag chairs one year too.  We all fight over them at our house 🙂 .  Even adults fit in them!

Speaking of watches, my kids bought themselves these Garmin Jr. watches and have not taken them off.  I love so many things about these watches, but my favorite feature is that they don’t have to charge.  These guys run on a battery, so my kids really and truly never have to remove them (they’re waterproof too!).

I will never not use a Kindle again! Both of my big kids got Paperwhites last year for Christmas, and they love them too!  Even Andrew is on the Kindle bandwagon now…

…we like to sit together and read 🙂 .

Looking for a gift to give someone who has everything?  Or a gift for the foodie in your life?  My friend Kimarie has just what you need…

…you must buy her Saltopia Salts!  Look how cute they come packaged?!  I have been gifting these like CRAZY!  They are the perfect little something to give this holiday season…

You are going to go nuts over these salts!

For your spouse?  The My Pillow.  For your kids?  The My Pillow.  For everyone?  My Pillow.  Andrew and I are obsessed with ours!

I know a bed is a crazy expensive thing to buy…but if you and your spouse are looking for a gift to give each other this year, the Sleep Number Bed is one of the best things Andrew and I have ever bought ourselves. We still love it so much.  I cannot imagine sleeping on anything else now.  After almost two years of sleeping on it…get this…his number is a 90 and mine is a 25.  SERIOUSLY!  No wonder we never found a mattress we both loved!  He wants his so hard and I want mine to feel like a hammock.  This was a great gift to buy ourselves.

Start your year off right with the One Year BibleThis Bible breaks down the Word in 365 days, so you can read the entire Bible in one year.  Love.

Another great way to start your year?  Jesus Calling.  This daily devotional is the perfect accompaniment to your morning quiet time.  There is a devotional for every day of the year.

Because Oprah said so many years ago, I completed a gratitude journal for 13 years.  For 12 of those years, I used this one right here.  I can’t say this enough…the habit of daily writing down five things I was grateful for changed my life.  It really did.  It changed me forever.

Whew!  So, those are a few of my favorite things from this year!!  I hope you have the best weekend, friends!  Do not forget to come back here on Monday for FIVE DAYS OF FABULOUS!!!!!

xo

Did you buy the large or medium bean bag chairs?

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 23, 2018 at 6:39 am

We have two of each! The ones pictured are the large ones!

I love the look of the Saltopia it would be a super cute gift but since I’m not a foodie I’m a little confused exactly how to use them and how to choose the flavor….any tips?

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 23, 2018 at 6:39 am

There are three recipes included with each one. I would start with one that you could use on so many things like the black truffle. You can sprinkle that on everything from scrambled eggs to pasta, chicken, beef, roasted veggies and more!

It’s from Gap, but it’s probably 5 years old.

Where did you find the plain garmin jr. bands? Did you get them separately ? I can only find the printed ones. Thanks!

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 24, 2018 at 6:46 am

Yes! You can order them separately in different colors on Amazon!

  • Reply Bethany November 23, 2018 at 9:54 am

What’s your thought on matte vs glossy black Hunters? Help me decide!

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 24, 2018 at 6:46 am

      I have each…I say get glossy 🙂 .

  • Reply Andrea November 23, 2018 at 10:07 am

Do you use your Instant Pot a lot? My daughter who loves to cook is trying to decide if she wants one. I have heard such mixed reviews.

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 24, 2018 at 6:45 am

I’m trying. I don’t turn to it like I do my slow cooker, but I’m trying to learn to love it.

Hi! I want to try some new makeup- I currently use mostly MAC. I plan on making a makeup trial at Nordstrom- would you recommend doing this with Bobby Brown or NARS?! Thank you!! 🙂

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 24, 2018 at 6:45 am

I personally love Bobbi Brown’s products!

  • Reply Eileen November 23, 2018 at 12:18 pm

Last year when I was out Black Friday shopping, I saw your shopping post about favorite gifts and the My Pillow was on it. I bought it for my husband right then and there and he has since said it’s life changing. Thanks for the tip!

  • Reply Nicole November 23, 2018 at 1:10 pm

Thank you for all of the wonderful ideas. You’ve helped me fill up my shopping list! What color robe are you wearing?

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 24, 2018 at 6:45 am

      The navy!

  • Reply Jaren November 23, 2018 at 5:51 pm

Holy Moly! This is a great list of stuff!! My son loves his Garmin Jr. I think we need that states game for sure!

  • Reply Jenn Huff November 24, 2018 at 1:22 am

Do you plan to get the new Apple Watch 4 that just came out? I’ve never had one before but I’m thinking of getting the 4 and just curious? If you do can you do a little post about how you like it?

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 24, 2018 at 6:45 am

I need to research it more. Right now, I’m happy with my three…but I’m sure at some point, I’ll get the four!

  • Reply Kait November 24, 2018 at 8:43 am

Do you reach your goal of 450 on your watch everyday?

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 25, 2018 at 5:16 am

      Most days!

  • Reply Beth November 24, 2018 at 2:14 pm

I recommend gifting “New Morning Mercies” by Paul David Tripp. It is a devotional with a lot more meat!

  • Reply Liz November 24, 2018 at 2:51 pm

Do you have any recommendations for an every day purse? I currently have the Signet bag from Jcrew and absolutely love it,but I’m looking for something new. Thanks!

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 25, 2018 at 5:16 am

      I love a big tote!!

  • Reply Betsy November 24, 2018 at 7:54 pm

I guess you don’t wear your Hunter boots everyday. I do to walk my dog as the grass is always wet with dew, etc. I’ve had two pairs and both have cracked where it creases with the toe bend making them no longer waterproof. I returned the first pair to Nordstrom and replaced them with another pair. Same issue after a year. Not worth the money but they look good, I guess. Meanwhile, the rubber on my bean boots are still going strong 25 years later, the stitching in the leather started to go which is why I tried to replace with Hunters.

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 25, 2018 at 5:15 am

I don’t wear them every day, but I do wear them a lot and have never had this problem.

  • Reply Anne November 25, 2018 at 1:49 pm

Do you find that you no longer are using your crock pot since you have gotten your instant pot? I LOVE my crock pot and keep debating an instant pot, but I feel like I wouldn’t need both taking us space in my kitchen.

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 26, 2018 at 4:55 am

Nope, I find that I am making myself use my Instant Pot and prefer my slow cooker.

  • Reply Jaime Matherson November 25, 2018 at 5:45 pm

    Hi,
    I have a quick question
I really want to make your tomato soup but my grocery store currently only has grape tomatoes. I know the recipe calls for cherry tomatoes but do you think I could sub in grape tomatoes for cherry? Also I love your idea to put butterscotch chips into brownies! We tried it last week and it was amazing!
    Thanks!

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 26, 2018 at 4:55 am

      Absolutely!! Enjoy!

  • Reply Jennifer November 26, 2018 at 12:21 pm

What is the inside of the gratitude book like? Amazon has no pictures but makes it sounds like a book you read every day whereas you make it sound like its just a notebook to write in? can you show us a page and just block out your responses?

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 26, 2018 at 2:11 pm

It has a motivational quote on each page along with a spot to write down five things.

  • Reply Crystal November 26, 2018 at 5:37 pm

Do you have a “set” number of gifts you give to your kids or do you follow some set of rules (something you need, something to read…)? I’m trying to find a balance with my kids as far as having a magical Christmas/Santa experience without filling our house with plastic. Also, love your gift guides and would love to see more recommendations!!! Thanks!

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 27, 2018 at 5:01 am

That part is really tricky. I like to spend about the same amount on each kiddo…but if one kid wants one thing that is expensive and another one wants four things that are not, it looks like they got more”stuff”. It’s a weird balancing act.

  • Reply Rebecca November 29, 2018 at 7:34 am

What size Barrington bag do you have?? Thank you!

    • Reply Mix and Match Mama November 29, 2018 at 8:32 am

I have several but my very fave is the St Anne Zippered Tote!
