Okay, let’s do this!  If you’re new around here, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now.  It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

This year, we don’t get a State Fair of Texas or…

…Oktoberfest, so I’m reminiscing a lot about both of those.  Boo.

3: WHAT I’M LOVING:

Guys!  I’m loving this sweater weather!  Did you see my new profile pic…

…isn’t it so fall?!  I am wearing both my new favorite earrings and my new sweater from Nordstrom’s #nsale!  Now that the weather is cooler here, I’ve been so excited to put on my staple uniform of jeans, sweater and booties 🙂 .  Add the most perfect gold earrings and I’m out the door!  Want to know what else I’m loving???  The lace-up boot trend.  I just bought myself these…

…also from Nordstrom for the fall and cannot wait for them to arrive at my door!  I think from skinny jeans to my favorite black leggings, they’ll be cute all fall and winter long!  I will share lots of pics once they arrive!

   4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Lots of resting and relaxing with Miss Ashby 🙂 .  We have consumed #pumpkineverything and watched #allthefall shows.

5: WHAT I’M DREADING:

I can’t even fathom another surgery right now, but geez, let’s go ahead and put on the record that I’m very much dreading that.

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

I’m working on a FALL BEAUTY POST because I don’t know about you, but in the fall and winter I have to change up my routine to fit the weather.  Right now, I’m still loving…

…several things from my SPRING BEAUTY ROUTINE especially my Hollywood Flawless Filter!  Friends, this stuff is GOLD when you’re trying to wake up your dull/not tan/dry fall or winter skin.  You can click HERE to see how I apply it.  It’s really easy!  I just smooth a little on UNDER my foundation stick to give my skin that oomph it needs when it’s not summertime.  I buy it in the shade 3.

7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

TOMORROW IS OCTOBER!!!!

I love October.

Madeley has an October birthday.

I have an October birthday.

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

My SEPTEMBER Book Review was yesterday!!!

9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

Thanks to all of your podcast suggestions, I’ve been listening to a lot of The Office Ladies Podcast as I run!  Friends, it’s so much fun!!  I’ve seen these episodes each a million times, but to listen to the cast and crew dissect each episode has been a real treat for me.

10: WHAT I’M WEARING:

‘Tis that time of year when I share lots of sweaters because THEY MAKE ME SO HAPPY!  Buckle up friends because right now, Nordstrom has some great sweaters, jeans and boots for FALL!

How cute is this one?!  I’m having a moment with neutrals.  I didn’t even realize I was doing it, but wait…you’ll see.  I keep gravitating towards a more neutral palette right now, and I’m loving it!  This sweater is not only super soft (not itchy at all!), but it’s chunky and yet still a bit fitted.  I paired it with one of their tanks (instead of a cami this time!) underneath too.  Same gold earrings though 🙂 .

Another day, another time to wear those earrings and this 3/4 length very light sweater (it’s perfect for transitional weather). I bought it in black, but it does come in multiple colors!

And then one more, but this time in…

…gray!  This sweater is nice and light too (because I’m not ready for heavy).  I paired it with these jeans and, my watchband is another Nordstrom find as well as this super cute bralette in dark green.  My bralette is currently out of stock but THIS ONE is very similar.  (The labradoodle is just about the only thing you cannot find at Nordstrom 😉 ) .  And of course, those gold earrings.

You do not have to wear this top off the shoulder, but if you’re wearing a really cute lace bralette in a fun color, it’s okay if it shows.  I’ve really loved wearing these…they’re actually really comfortable and they give an unexpected layer too.  You can also find my super cute booties HERE.

 

Here’s a better shot of the earrings.  I bought mine in vintage gold and love them because they’re not heavy.  I always love shopping at Nordstrom because not only do they have everything my family needs from beauty to shoes to home, clothes, bath and more, but they have impeccable service, free shipping, free returns and curbside pick up…which in 2020 is invaluable.

  11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

We have both football and baseball this weekend…so, I’ll be busy cheering on my boys!

 12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Everything.

13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

    Our fairs and things have been canceled this year too. I just got home from my surgery yesterday so lots of resting and TV watching going on over here too.

    That little outfit with the gray sweater and booties is SO cute on you! Just one question-I want to wear sweaters here this time of year, but don’t you get hot when you leave the house? Is it not that bad? Maybe I’ll try it today!

    So much fun stuff! I got the Tory Burch Apple watch band after you posted, and I’m wondering if you work out with that band on?? I didn’t know how well it would hold up if I wore it while working out.

      I’m wearing it right now! I don’t work out in mine. I switch to a rubber one and then switch back.

    Hope your Ashby is feeling better each and every day. Just a random suggestion….my two girls, who are grown with kids of their own now, loved watching the Anne of Green Gables movies with me. Have you ever watched those with your girls? They also loved reading all of the books. There is an entire collection of them. Happy October Eve, Shay!

    Is the debate about Trick or Treating and Halloween just as hot in Texas as it is here in Calgary? What are your plans? Are your kids going to dress up and trick or treat? Or will it be a Trick or Treat at home this year?

      I don’t think it’s a huge debate here. My kids are going to dress up, and since it’s a Saturday night, we’re going to have a party at home with a spooky movie and treats! Our neighbors are decorating their homes, so we’ll walk around and check that out!
