Before we leave today, I have some pics from this year’s Jammy Cocoa Christmas. Right this minute, I’m not feeling very well at all. It’s so weird…I will have all of this energy and feel great and then the next minute, I feel absolutely horrible. Right this minute, I’m feeling pretty horrible. Earlier this week, when I was feeling well, we did one of my very favorite traditions of the season…
…Jammy Cocoa Christmas 🙂 .
We loaded up, drove to our local Starbucks, got goodies and then drove around looking at lights and listening to music.
I love this guy. He has been AMAZING this week!!
Another Jammy Cocoa Christmas in the books!
Okay friends, I’m out of here! Good luck on today’s giveaway!!! See you MONDAY! xo

It’s normal to feel up and down after surgery….but don’t overdo it on the days you feel good! REST….I asked my doc what that meant…she said “lie on the couch”.
Hope you feel better soon.

It is weird how you feel great and then all of a sudden you don’t. Even though there are lots of fun stuff to do this season, taking care of yourself is the top priority. Let Andrew, your parents or friends take your kids to the activities. Rest and enjoy your weekend!
Mix and Match Mama says
It is, Melinda!! It’s crazy!! Thank you for your words of encouragement!!

Wishing you and your family a blessed holiday season. I know it’s the time of the year for go-go-go, but you’ve had major surgery. Please take time to rest – your body has been traumatized and needs time to heal and reset and readjust. Maybe let this year be an opportunity to view holiday festivities differently… maybe God wants you to slow down and savor quiet family times, more time spent with HIM, open your eyes to something different in this wondrous season. Take care.
Mary Anne says
I am loving your make up free pic with Andrew. Natural makeup is Gods gift!
Shar Wiebe says
Wishing you a full recovery! I had an abdominal hysterectomy in August. I remember feeling great one day and doing a little too much, and then the next day being laid flat out again. Sneezing and coughing was so painful ? ? . Stay patient, and be kind to your body…you’ll be feeling back to normal in no time!
Madison says
Jammy Cocoa Christmas sounds like such a fun him day tradition!
Leslie S says
Lifting you in prayer Shay! I’ll be doing this surgery in the spring. I’m hoping you’ll do a post on this? Maybe things you think others should know, have on hand, do, not do? Maybe some real life perspective on what to expect (doctors always tell you recovery isn’t bad at all LOL) from recovery. Whatever you feel comfortable sharing would be much appreciated! Hope you’re feeling awesome in no time!
Heather Colburn says

I had a hysterectomy, vault repair, & bladder sling, nearly 3 yrs ago. I’d had issues for about a year prior, then my uterus prolapsed….thanks childbirth, eeks! I totally understand all you’re going through. My recovery was a lot more painful, a lot longer, & just a lot harder than I anticipated. I’d feel ok, or even good, then later or the next day super awful. It’s a rollercoaster ride. The dr warned me to totally take it easy & not do too much too soon, but that’s hard with kids, a job, & responsibilities. I did take 5-1/2 weeks off from work, & other than taking care of my Kids & sometimes my home, I just laid on the couch reading & watching movies. It’s challenging for an active & busy, young-ish woman, like me & younger woman as yourself!
Hang in there & don’t work too soon. You’ve really got to give your body a lot of time to rest, which will allow it to heal! ♥️ Love & prayers to you! If you want to talk to someone who’s been through it, you can email me!
Happiest Christmas to your sweet family!
Fanny Li says

Thinking of you Shay! I had the same experience when I had mine – would feel great and then completely wiped out. (Not in much pain though which was a blessing.) take care of yourself and I am happy you are able to do some little things to enjoy the holiday season. Thank you for always sharing your version of “it’s a wonderful life” with us! And thank you and Sheaffer for the fun giveaways! ❤️❤️

Shay, I hope you get to feeling better & get your energy back before Christmas. If not get propped up on the couch or in a recliner & watch the kids open presents. I’m having this surgery first of the year & now I’m dreading it. Actually with us only having the one child & they told us we couldn’t have another one so quit going through the pain every month but I’ve put it off, till i can’t anymore. Anyways hope your recovery gets better & you feel like an amazing woman? Also Shay wanted time say real quick thank you SO much for choosing such amazing bags for the fifth day give away. Oh & I thought only us in the South did jammie Christmas ? Merry Christmas to your family!
Joy says
Bless you! Rest and allow others to serve you like you serve them! Thank you for the opportunity to carry such a fabulous bag! I’d love to bless someone!❤️❤️
Misty S. says
Girl, I was the same way during my recovery! I did too much too soon and definitely regretted it. But there were days where I felt great and was SO tired of sitting that I would get up and do things around the house. This was a BIG mistake!!! At my checkup my Dr. gave me a very stern talking to. I had hurt myself internally and had no idea that I had done that. Please, please rest!!!! It is so hard. Especially at this time of the year when you don’t want to miss a thing. I should have listened to my mama. LOL And this is probably TMI but take your stool softeners. HA!HA!HA!
