Friends, it’s Easter weekend!
You guys know I love all of the “fluff” of the holidays. I love the food, the fellowship with friends and family and all of the “extra” things that go along with them, but I believe you also know that THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MY LIFE IS MY RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS.
One day when I die, I hope I’m remembered as someone who loved her family (and encouraged adoption!) and who got up every day trying to live for Jesus.
If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and have any questions about your faith, my faith, or whatever, please feel free to email me. I’d be happy to reach back out with a word of encouragement and also share a bit about why I put my faith in Jesus Christ. You can email me here: mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com
These are strange times we’re living in right now…weird, unprecedented, lonely, sad and confusing times. If you are feeling a little hopeless, let me encourage you to put your hope in something bigger and greater than what you can find on this earth…try putting your hope in Jesus.
If you’re looking for a church service to watch this Sunday from home, I wanted to give you two choices. Of course, you can watch my church’s service at firstmckinney.com at 7, 9 and 11 AM (it will be live) or you can watch it recorded any time after that or another church I really like to watch online when I can is Southeast Christian Church. Their pastor has written some of my favorite books and always delivers really encouraging and uplifting sermons.
God bless you all this Easter weekend! May the hope, peace, comfort, joy and love that comes from Christ fill your home this holiday. xo Shay

God bless you and your family this Easter weekend. Love that you share your faith so openly Shay. I honestly don’t know how people get through times like this without Jesus. I’ve been through some hard days recently, someone close to me is hurting badly and I can’t be with them. Praying as we social distance this will pass soon and we can all be together again one day soon, Blessings Shay!

Do you have suggestions for how to teach kids about Easter? Is there a movie you’d recommend? We just started going to church in January and my kids liked Sunday school but obv were not going now. They’re 5 & 7.
Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Have you made Resurrection Rolls yet? They’re an “Easter” thing but you can totally make them year around too as they’re a great visual for explaining the death and resurrection of Jesus. We love to read Bible stories at the end of dinner and talk about them as a family. There are so many great children’s illustrated Bible books you could pick out that really come alive when read by parents. I hope this helps!

I try and do a variety, but time after time, I always go back to Beth Moore Bible studies. I think she does an incredible job writing them and especially writing for a female audience. In fact, I just worked on one right before getting online today. You can find them on Amazon!

Wow, didn’t realize so many Louisville area readers you had including me Shay! Great shout out to Southeast Christian Church! They are a huge part of the Louisville and surrounding area and do so many great things for many people. We are catholic and are members of our local parish, but have attended SEC’s Christmas Eve service and many of their Easter plays throughout the years. Happy Easter (season) and thank you for spreading your love for Jesus!
