Hey, hey, hey!
Have you guys been to Trader Joe’s lately? Here’s the deal, one of the mannnnnnny reasons why I love this grocery store is that it is like a kindergarten classroom and a grocery store got married and gave birth to a child…Trader Joe is that child.
Right now, when you walk in, it’s decorated in apples, little chalkboard signs and everywhere you turn it says “back to school”. After three months of “summery” decor, these apple decorations (even hanging from the ceiling!) make my heart SO HAPPY!
I have a few new finds to share with you today from these last few weeks as I’ve stopped by, but then I also rounded up my BACK TO SCHOOL FAVES and turned it into a printable shopping list just for you!
Print the list, take it with you, look at the back to school decor and get your shopping done. I promise you, it’s just HAPPINESS.
Before we get to the printable list, here are a few new discoveries for me that you might want to also add to your cart…
It’s hatch pepper season right now, so make sure you grab this gouda! This has been great on our charcuterie boards and on our burgers…it’s not spicy, just super flavorful.
Look what’s back!!!!!! I haven’t seen this in store in FOREVER. The last time it was around, I didn’t buy any thinking it would stick around…I was wrong. This time, I purchased two bottles. I really, really love their truffle ketchup (also in stores now), but I think this BBQ sauce might even be better!
I love their fresh dressings (in the refrigerated section next to the salads), but I had never tried this one before. Yes, yes, YES! You know I love a lot of heat, and this one is a bit spicy but not too hot.
A typical lunch for me would be one of these wraps (so one purchase gets me two days of lunch) with about a third of…
…one of their packaged salads. They have two new ones out that I am LOVING! They have this one and…
…this one too. I often add my own toppings to jazz things up (nuts, dried fruit, cheese, etc), but both of these were flavorful enough on their own. If you open one of these salads but don’t eat the entire thing (like I do at home for lunch), just stick a dry paper towel in the bag with the salad (touching the lettuce) when you put it back in the fridge to keep it fresh.
So many of you told me to try this scrub because you said it smelled like the Bum Bum cream I love so much. It does!!! Not only does it smell like the beach, but it also is just a really great body scrub.
My kids can’t quit these! I’ve had to start buying multiple bags of these little packets of mixed nuts because all four kiddos want to take them to school. They’re the perfect size snacks for kiddos or grownups alike.
I might have shared these before, but I’m going to share them again. These are a great alternative to a g-free tortilla when you’re tired of eating corn.
Eeeeeeeeeeks! Well you know how much I love the almond butter covered almonds…and guys, THESE ARE EVEN BETTER!! I’m a huge cashew fan, so a handful of these in the afternoon with my coffee is the perfect snack.
Another quick weekday lunch for me!
I’m super into squash this time of year, and this precut ready to use squash has made certain recipes very easy for me!
Those are a few new items, but now, here are my favorite items for BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING at Trader Joe’s!
Please note, not all of these are gluten-free as I thought back over the years to alllll the things we’ve loved for back to school and many of those were purchased before we were eating gf at our house. I’m going to call out a few of my faves and then include a more complete shopping list (with staples on there most households need!).
Here we go…
Stock up on these! Our family things these little bites of pure heaven are way better than Pirate’s Booty. It’s like eating cheesy air. It’s amazing.
These little nuggets make excellent after school treats especially if your family is on the go!
Add to your kiddos’ lunchbox or have on hand for after school.
‘Tis pb & j or almond butter and j season 😉 .
Oh how I wish these were gluten-free! We love, love, loved buying these little cookies for after school snacks. When Mades was little, we would spell out words together with the cookies before she enjoyed them. They’re so delish too!
As most of you know, one of these with a little avocado and my morning breakfast is done! These are DELICIOUS!!!!!
I do not like corn in the can. I prefer fresh or frozen…except for Trader Joe’s canned corn. It’s magical. It is the best canned corn you can buy. Now that corn season is winding down, stock up on this to add to your family’s weeknight soups and chilis.
Make sure you grab pasta for easy weeknight suppers! They make excellent g-free pasta too!
For easy early morning breakfasts at your house!
Yessssss! I love these as much as my kids do! Add to lunchboxes or keep them handy for after school snacking.
Grab these or their sweet potato fries or their tater tots, pop them in the oven or air fryer and your easy weeknight side is done!
If I had to name my top two all-time favorite Trader Joe’s items, this would be in the top two (the frittatas above would be in there as well!).
Not only do they just make sense for back to school season, but they’re delicious too!
Quick desserts, little lunchbox treats, easy to grab.
Whether you buy the gluten-free versions or the regular, stock up on freezer waffles and pancakes this time of year with…
…maple syrup too.
I will heat this up and send it to school with Kensington! Easy lunch!!
Head to the bakery aisle for easy breakfast ideas like their cider donuts…
…varieties of breads…
…and muffins!
Yes, yes!! Add to cart!
I love their sparkling waters!! They come in a variety of (seasonal) flavors and never disappoint!!
Grab their yogurts while you’re there too! We like both the bowls and the tubes for lunchboxes.
From frozen corn to frozen gnocchi, riced cauliflower, rice…there are SO MANY easy weeknight sides that just need to be heated at Trader Joe’s!

I might just have to go walk the aisles. It’s been a while since I’ve visited!

Do you have a Central Market near you? If you do, it’s worth stopping by soon for their Hatch Chile Festival. They go all. out. Meats, cheeses, cookies, pickled things, salsas, breads and baked goods, and more. It’s all throughout the store. Hatch Chile EVERYTHING, and it’s pretty fun!
Mix and Match Mama says
Not super close to me. Maybe I need to make a drive over though?!
Taylor says
It’s a pretty fun walk through with all the hatch festivities and definitely feels “early fall” to me!! Things vary a bit by store, but when I lived in Fort Worth, they were even having hatch cook-outs and live music! Sadly, our Houston store really isn’t set up for that (FW has a small playground and outdoor seating area).

So many fun options! It makes me want to go grocery shopping now! Yum!

The corn seriously is magical and those cinnamon muffins are the stuff dreams are made of.
Mix and Match Mama says
MAGICAL.
Rachel says
I saw somewhere that they’re discontinuing the chili lime rolled chips!!!! So sad if it’s true!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I certainly hope not!!!
Elizabeth says
The lady at Trader Joe’s was telling us to stock up as they won’t be around long.
Crystal says
Our TJs no longer carries the GF frozen pancakes. When we asked about them, they told us they were discontinued. That was a staple breakfast for our Celiac kiddo!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Okay my store does carry them but they sell out quickly. My store didn’t have them for about two months and then in June and July I purchased them. This month, my store told me that they’re sold out again but not discontinued. I hope my store is not wrong! They’re better than the silver dollar ones.
Michelle says
Will have to give a few of these a try! Have you tried TJs Oat Milk Brown Sugar Coffee Creamer? It’s a game changer!
Mix and Match Mama says
Noooooo! That sounds like a delicious oatmeal cookie though!
Stacy says
Try the almond butter filled pretzels! SO good!
Christina says
Can you link your sunglasses from todays stories?
Mix and Match Mama says
I think I told someone else yesterday that they are the cat eye, but I think they’re these square ones instead: https://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/products/my-monogram-square-sunglasses-s00-nvprod2880233v/Z1524W

Shay, you must try the new banana pudding ice cream! Very refreshing!
Mix and Match Mama says
I LOVE banana pudding!!
Samantha says
I’m so jealous of all the g-free bread options your Trader Joe’s has! We have many TJ’s nearby (I’m in Southern CA) and I’ve never seen the multigrain, Italian, or brioche!! We have the whole grain (green bag) and white (blue bag) and bagels, but I never knew those other ones even existed!! Now I have major FOMO! Lol.
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re not all there year around. Anytime I see any of those options (or the hot dog or burger buns!), I buy them in bulk and freeze them.
Emily says
You need to try their Crunch Curls! They’re the most amazing GF snack!!
Karla says
I still can’t get my hands on the Brazil Nut Butter here in Georgia. It’s out of season now.
