Happy Friday, friends!

We have a JAM PACKED weekend of sports…literally every kid has a game and one kid has multiple.  It’s moments like this when I really wish we had other adults living in our house that drive.  In between the crazy…er…I mean fun…we’re going to pack in as much HALLOWEEN FUN as humanly possible because…

…and we’re a real good time to be around especially this time of year 🙂 .

You guys, my week started in Nantucket and is ending in McKinney…that’s a pretty darn good week, but I would be lying if I didn’t say that my heart is a bit heavy this morning thinking about my Mimi.  One year ago this morning, she went to be with Jesus.  It has been a year of so many firsts without her and even though she lived an amazing 94 years, she has been so missed…especially by my sweet grandpa.  To live a life that long and still be that missed…wow.  What a testimony she was to living and loving well.  xx

It was national bike or walk to school day this week and well, that’s always one of our favorite things.  I just LOVE walking and talking with these two as we head to school.  I did it so many times with their older siblings, so I know now just how quickly it all goes by.  It’s a special season we’re in right now for so many reasons.

We all know that I love a bodysuit.  This one here is like a soft, scoop neck tee.  It comes in other colors and is truly just so soft and easy to wear.

It pairs perfectly with…

…this mini puffer!  How cute is this coat?!  It’s really warm and comes in 10 colors including two different Sherpas, a gorgeous green and faux leather.  I picked this fabric because it was one of the water repellent ones…and that’s always a win!  It comes in a mid length too.

It’s kind of like a new spin on their classic faux leather coat here that I just talked about on Wednesday!  I have loved this one for YEARS!

I found these this week at my grocery store and have already had to go back for more.  They’re gluten-free (a win!) and DELICIOUS!  I like one in the afternoon with a cup of coffee…with pumpkin pie creamer, of course!

A full fall recap from our time in Nantucket is coming up soon, but based on my DMs and emails, many of you would like the deets on my boots and coat ASAP 🙂 .  My boots are awesome because they’re Sorel which basically means they’re warm, comfy and perfect for all weather conditions.  My coat…it’s from my very favorite brand and fits TTS.

Oh I love this girl and that place.

If you looked up HOT MESS in the dictionary, I feel very certain that you would see this picture…

…yup.  We have been a hot mess all week long.  We recorded an entire episode of The Bestie Breakdown except…well…it didn’t record.  And then on Wednesday…

…we totally forgot about Let’s Look.

You guys, I’m HERE FOR A HALLOWEEN COSTUME!  I really like getting into the spirit of things. I just think it makes the whole night more fun.  Over the years, I’ve dressed up as a variety of things…and I always love when I’m complementing someone else’s costume too.  Last year though, I went as a zombie cheerleader just because I found the costume on Etsy and well, it was too fun not to wear!

In 2020, Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons went trick or treating.

In 2018, it was the Addams Family.

In 2017, the Sanderson sisters took over the neighborhood.

And in 2016, this police officer went out with an eclectic crew 🙂 .

Again, apologies to everyone who made entire posts!  I am so sorry!  Next month, we will get our act together for…LET’S LOOK AT WHERE WE SHOP FOR OUR MOMS.

Ohhhhhh!  Watch out!  It’s going to be all about Lovie 🙂 .

      Not the most random AT ALL 😉 . They’re Uggs! I wear them all day, every day! The style is cozetta and they often have them…but not all the time. If they don’t right now, they will again!

    Hugs to you on your year firsts without your MiMi. We are making it through our year of firsts without my Dad and he is missed so much everyday by us. I am glad your MIMi lived a long life. I have learned to cherish the memories!!
    Don’t wish for driving too soon ..your hair will turn gray and a new worry with kids will overtake you. Ugh!! I will not deny it is nice to say hey run to the store. Lol.
    Have a great fall weekend. We are in full fall mode…leaves colorful and cool air. We may not even hit 50 today. They have said that S word for Monday mixing in with rain.

    I am just wondering that if as a Christian you struggle at all with celebrating Halloween? In last several years and as I grow more in my faith I am feeling more and more convicted that the pagan holiday is dishonoring and displeasing to god. Just curious what your thoughts were.

    I just had to laugh; our school is a 30 minute drive away so I can’t ever imaging walking or biking to school! Your costumes are so fun. I hate dressing up.. always have, ever since I was a kid. I mean I did it so I could get free candy but I found costumes to be so itchy and uncomfortable.

    Oh, Shay, you are NOT alone this week! All my mom friends and I have had quite a week too. Something is in the air! Let’s all hope this weekend turns around for us ALL. I even had Amazon issues this week…I sent that adorable nightlight you blogged about to my nephew and they delivered…an empty box instead? LOL. Anyway, when little things go wrong, I usually tell myself better a few little things going wrong that something BIG right? That always helps me reframe.

    Happy Fall weekend! We are LOVING the gorgeous leaves here outside Boston and have some local fairs on the agenda for Saturday. YAY!
