Hey, hey, hey, it’s What’s Up Wednesday!
If you don’t know what that means, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Thank you all SO MUCH for the birthday wishes yesterday! You all were TOO KIND, and it just meant so much to hear from so many of you. Thank you. I had a lovely day doing all the fun things like yoga, attending the A Honor Roll ceremony at the middle school, a trip to Trader Joe’s, lunch with my hubby in downtown McKinney and a football game last night where I was able to watch my boy play and my girl cheer followed by dinner with my big ole family. I’m a blessed 41 year old 🙂 .
We’re at the end of one of the BEST MONTHS of the year, so let’s get to all the things that have been happening like…
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
It’s t-minus five days until Halloween, so I’m making all the fun recipes for dinner each week. If you missed this week’s MEAL PLANNING MONDAY, make sure you go back and read it because I changed up how I have my grocery shopping list. Now, the list is divided up by recipe and even easier for you to use when grocery shopping. You’ll for sure want to see my recipes for SPOOKY SPAGHETTI, JACK-O-LANTERN JOES, MONSTER MASH-ED POTATOES and more this week!
You might also want to make my PUMPKIN CRANBERRY MUFFINS this week or…
…my Pumpkin S’mores Cookies too!
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
It’s been a month of TRAVELING around here…
…I’ve been reminiscing a lot about our trip to Nantucket this fall and of course…
…our time at Oktoberfest in Munich and…
…our visit to London too!
BUT….a Halloween never goes by without me thinking of my first Halloween as a mom. Your two What’s Up Wednesday hosts were both brand spankin’ new first time moms celebrating together…
…oh Sheaffer! Wasn’t this JUST YESTERDAY?! How are these babies now fourteen years old?!
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
HAT//BODYSUIT (sold out, like ones linked)//CROP JEANS//PLATFORM SANDALS
I am LOVING these jeans!! They’re the perfect grey color, cropped, SO COMFY and priced SO WELL! They’re from Wit & Wisdom which you all know by now, I love, love, love! My recommendation is to always size down in their jeans. They truly are the most amazing jeans for comfort, give, no-stretch and price.
BLACK TEE//THERMAL TOP//BOAT NECK TOP//SANDALS//NECKLACE//HAT
These are Wit & Wisdom jeans too that I’ve been wearing all fall! Again, size down!
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
On Saturday afternoon, I looked down at Madeley during Ashby’s soccer game, and she 100% summed up how I was feeling…
…amen, sister.
We are almost finished with fall sports and SO EXCITED for our winter break!! As much as we love our full Saturdays, it will be so nice to have time off during the holiday season to just enjoy life.
Coach Andrew and Mades at volleyball on Saturday…
…Ashby at soccer…
…and then this kid had a solo orchestra competition followed by baseball. It was a full day with all of my favorite people. (Plus my sweet Kensington who had a cheer thing!)
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’m dreading nothing! 🙂 That being said…if you do want something to pray over, we have (another!) appointment for Ashby tomorrow (we went last week and now, we’re going back). Just lots of prayers are always appreciated. We’re *hopeful* that we won’t have to schedule another surgery anytime soon, but who really knows? You know who knows? God knows. He’s got our girl. I know He does. I always pray Isaiah 41:10 over her. It’s been my dad’s favorite verse for forever and then during her surgeries, it hit me one day while I was praying it how specific this verse is to sweet Ashby: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. His right hand is holding up her right hand. I have so much peace knowing that.
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
I’m just over here with my amazing team sending so many sweet people on vacation! From Aulani to Walt Disney World, cruises, Hawaii and all international destinations, we are busy, busy and happy, happy sending people on vacations. Contact us today if you’re ready to plan your next vacation! Maybe you’re ready to start thinking about next summer? Or spring break? Or anything in between! We’d love to help!
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
#truth
8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
You guys, you guys, YOU GUYS! I am so sorry! Last month, during What’s Up Wednesday, I told you that I would be combining my September and October Book Reviews this time and this time only, and many of you didn’t see that. I’M SO SORRY! Guess what?! TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!!!!!!! If you are one of the sweet people who have reached out about my next book review, COME BACK TOMORROW!!!
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
I’m listening to this right now…
…but give me like five days, and I will be listening to…
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
This sweater here is an Amazon find that comes in 19 colors! I love that you can button it all the way up or unbutton it for a more v-neck styled sweater. Super soft and zero itch. Which happens to be the only thing I wear these days…
…this super soft sweater is an Old Navy find! It came in other colors, but you all know how I feel about green.
And this sweater here is from Target! It’s only $17 and comes in 12 different colors.
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
What am I doing this weekend? Smith has a one day baseball tournament, Ashby has soccer…church has a fall festival…things like that! My plan is to soak in ALL THE HALLOWEEN FUN. I might just listen to Thriller about 100 times just because I can. Oh! We’re going to carve our jack-o-lanterns too! Maybe watch Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2 again. You know…all the things.
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Oh yes, I can!
13: FAVORITE AMAZON FIND:
My cousin Casey texted me and told me to purchase these pjs immediately. She wasn’t kidding! They’re crazy soft!
That wraps up this month’s post! If you blogged WUW today too, please link up below.
I’ll see you guys tomorrow for BOOK REVIEW DAY!!!! xx

Hey Shay!! What’s your updated/current work out routine? How many days of running, how far? Strength? Yoga? Thanks!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, I’m trying to be super consistent with four solid running days (more mileage, my main focus), two strength days (about 30 minutes of weight followed by 2 to 3 miles of running) and one day with just 45 or 60 minutes of yoga.
Nicole says
Awesome!! That sounds similar to me! How far on your solid running days? Thank you!!
Mix and Match Mama says
It depends on how much time I have but I like to go at least five miles. If I have the time, I’ll go further.
Valerie Allen says
Confession: I actually started listening to the Michael Buble Christmas station on Pandora two days ago. I am not ashamed. I only listen when no one else is home, though!
Mix and Match Mama says
Own it, Valerie! I couldn’t love it more!
Elspeth says

What is about NFL (past/present) players with their little girls…Gets me every time. So sweet to see him coaching Madeley in VB. And listen…it’s so dark and dreary here today that I may have listened to Christmas music on my way to work this morning. Ok… I did! And it made me happy. A fellow teacher named today “Wonderful Wednesday.” Starting with Christmas music was a perfect start to WW! Happy belated birthday!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love Wonderful Wednesday! It sounds like the perfect day to turn on carols and enjoy the morning. What a gift you must be to your students, Debbie!

Amy says
My daughter deals with lots of anxiety. She has started seeing a therapist who told her yesterday to write down her worries for ten minutes at night and then put them up. I was praying about that this morning and decided to get her a notebook with a verse about fear written down on the first page. I was going to tell her to write her worries for ten minutes and then pray the verse over them. But I didn’t know what verse I wanted to put on there. I was a week behind on your blog posts due to being out of town (me not reading your blog on the daily is RARE). I sat down to catch up and saw your dad’s favorite verse. Oh how I love God’s timing and that He cares about things that are near to our heart. Thank you for sharing!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Amy! I have chills. He cares so much about all the details…the big and the small. Sending you so much love! xx
