Happy Tuesday from chilly North Texas. I’m typing this post on Monday afternoon…and I’m guessing my kids might be home with me on Tuesday when you read it. They’re calling for icy conditions which is DFW’s way of saying “stay home and stay cozy”. We’ll see…
In the meantime, I have one final post for you to “fill in the gaps” from our trip last week to Paris and Normandy! While we were actually on vacation, I blogged each evening the things we had done that day, places we’d gone, etc. If you missed those posts, make sure you go back and read them as each one is written in real-time:
Today’s post has the details in-between those posts like where we stayed in each town, a few extra restaurant suggestions and few pictures that didn’t make it to the original posts. You know I love, love, love working with my clients at Mix and Match Travel Agency, and of course, I would love to work with you too! My team offers our services to Walt Disney World, Hawaii, all cruises (Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, etc) and then any international destination (like this vacation here!!). Please reach out to MY TRAVEL AGENCY today for more information on how we can help you with your next trip. Just a reminder, my team works super, super hard creating custom trips with no additional fees for each of our clients, so some details (like our excursions), we keep for customers only. It wouldn’t be fair of me to blab all of their tips, tricks and secrets on here when that’s one of the many ways they help our customers.
Okay, here we go…back to Paris for a quick recap from the beginning…
We flew from Dallas to Paris the night of the 19th arriving there early that next morning. We dropped off our bags, took showers, grabbed a bite and then headed to the Louvre.
While in Paris we stayed at the very gorgeous George V. It was stunning!
Our room was quite lovely too…
Later that night (again, read PART 1 for the specifics!)…
I lived my best Nancy Meyers movie life and ate at Le Grand Colbert 🙂 . Thank you, Something’s Gotta Give.
We wrapped up our first evening seeing her twinkle.
And took a pic so that we could gross out our children. #parentinggoals
The next morning was Saturday. The weather was cold but gorgeous while we were there. No wind, sunny skies and the perfect morning to spend…
…at Montmartre.
Just as charming in the wintertime as it is in the summer.
The perfect French lunch.
After lunch, we moved to the other side of town where we did a private Parisian tour that included history, architecture, traditions and of course, some yummy bites…
This tour had mostly sweet treats from very old bakeries, unique shops and delicious vendors. We nibbled, learned and walked 10 miles total on this day!
You can read more about this day in PART 2!
Later that night, we cleaned up and headed off to…
…our dinner reservations here at Gallopin.
The atmosphere was Parisian perfection…
…and the food insanely delish!
The next morning…
…after a yummy breakfast at our hotel, we hopped in our rental car and drove the 2ish hours north to the city of Honfleur.
I hadn’t been to Honfleur since I was a teenager, and it did not disappoint.
You can read all about our time here in PART 3!
We stayed the next two nights at Le Manoir des Impressionnistes Hotel. It could not have been more charming!
The second day we were in Honfleur, we drove about two hours to Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery. We had a private tour this morning of Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery.
I share more pictures in PART 4.
The following morning, we woke up bright and early (actually early and very dark as the sun didn’t rise here until well after 8:00 AM!) and made the drive back to…
…Paris for our last full day.
We checked back into our hotel and just enjoyed one last day walking, eating and shopping.
My view from my table at lunch wasn’t too shabby 🙂 .
For dinner on our last night, we ate at the very whimsical…
…CoCo. This place oozed character and served delicious food with live music. We quickly became friends with the Australian couple sitting next to us which only made dinner that much more fun!
And that, my friends, was Paris and Normandy this winter.
One more time, for those who want to know, here is quick round up of things I wore on this trip…
MY FURRY COAT and SEQUIN SKIRT are oh so fun!
These BOOTS! You guys! I am obsessed with them and right now, they’re on sale!
See this outfit here? I walked 10 MILES in THESE BOOTS, LEGGINGS and SWEATER (also on sale!). So comfy!
FUR COAT, ONE SHOULDER BODYSUIT, PAPERBAG PANTS and HEELS for the win!
Here it is without the coat.
And today’s #ootd in Honfleur. my favorite JEANS, BOOTS and SWEATER (on sale!).
BLACK COATED JEANS//SEQUIN TANK//BLAZER

Shay how do you use your hair tools while traveling? Power adapter of course but do you use a power converter as well? I’m studying abroad in South Africa as part of my MBA program and I’m already thinking about that…
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s so exciting!!!! Wow! If you’re going to be there for months, you might want to invest in one once you arrive that’s made for South Africa. I just use my universal adapter and go!
Laura A Fuller says
I’ll only be there for a week and have already purchased a power adapter. I’m planning to use the hotel blowdryer and take a round brush and curling iron. Hopefully I’ll be ok.
Erika Slaughter says
Loved these recaps and now I’m officially ready to go to Paris!
Malorie Fuchs says
Just booked a cruise with Brooke at MMTA and will stop in La Havre so this entire trip recap is great to see as we choose excursions in either Paris or Honfleur! This is making me so excited!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!!! I’m so happy we get to help you, Malorie!

Literally LOL’d at #parentinggoals! Sounds like such a charming, delicious vacay! My kids are home today too. Hopefully we will all be sane at the end of the day! Lol
Quick question, I just got the heated eyelash curler…and I could use some tips on how to use it. Any advice? It reminded me of learning to put mascara on for the first time but it’s more daunting bc I’m afraid to burn my eyeballs!!
WELL My daughter was reading this as I typed it out, went to grab the curler, and figured out that I hadn’t been using it correctly! So glad she was home from school today! Hahaha!!
Mix and Match Mama says
It doesn’t get nearly that hot, so don’t worry! I would say it just gets nice and warm. You’ll gently clamp it over your lashes, hold it there for about five seconds and release. Then apply your mascara. Easy as that!
Laura says
Still struggling after my daughter showed me how to use it…i haven’t gotten the right angle I guess? Will keep trying! Thanks for the tip!
Karah Stracener says
I haven’t been to Paris since I was in high school. Your posts are making me want to go back. Honfleur looks so charming. Thanks for sharing.
Mary Kay says
Looks like a fabulous trip! We’re going to Paris in July and can’t wait. Can you tell me the name of the black Louis Vuitton you carried in your pics? I’m looking for a new cross body bag. Thank you so much!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s one of the multi-pochette bags (so it comes with two).
Terry says
Have you ever visited Mount Saint-Michel in Normandy? We are going to Paris and Normandy the beginning of April. I just learned about this place yesterday. It’s not on our tour, but I was wondering if it’s worth staying an extra day just to see this. It looks amazing.
I’ve really enjoyed your blogs about this trip. Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I have! If we would have had an extra day, we would have gone there. Andrew hasn’t been. It’s pretty incredible!
Kasey says
When you checked back into your hotel for the 2nd time in Paris, did they allow 1 night stays or did you have to keep your rooms and pay the nights you werent there?
Mix and Match Mama says
They allowed us to check out and then back in for that last night.
Monica says
Is your LV bag in your first pic quilted and did you get it in Paris? It looks like the perfect crossbody to go with everything!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s the multi pochette. It comes in different colors. I bought mine last year when it came in black and pink (it comes with two).
Sheaffer says
That hotel room! And that avocado toast!!!!!!
Andrea says
This is probably a silly question, but how much French do you need to know? I’m going in June and so many people are telling me the French appreciate you when try to speak their language. I don’t want to offend!
Mix and Match Mama says
You don’t need any in Paris. I do think they certainly appreciate a “bonjour/bonsoir” or a “merci”, but you will be fine in Paris speaking English.
Jaclyn says
Hi Shay! What size are you in the black coated jeans that you’re wearing w the blazer and sequin tank? Thanks!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought them in a 26! I have been turning them inside out to wash (they don’t dry), and it works like a charm!
Leslie says
Loving the white rain boots! As a fellow no sock wearer, wondering how you deal with the inside seaming – does it bother the back of your feet, do you place anything inside to prevent? TIA!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve actually never thought of that. It doesn’t bother me at all!
