Happy SATURDAY!
It’s our first ‘TIS THE SEASON SATURDAY blog post of the year, and I am SO happy you’re here with me.
Between now and December 13th, I will be here with you every Saturday with an extra dose of seasonal happiness.
(Side note: I know I have three daughters when I also know that December 13th is Taylor Swift’s birthday. Sigh.)
Thank you so much for being here with me. I am extra extra blessed to have you spend a few weekend minutes with me too.
Enjoy! xx

If you are like me, you can always use a new lunch idea. This last week, my three girls were on a grilled chicken Caesar salad wrap kick.
Here is what I did…

My grocery store sells grilled chicken in these containers (on the right), so I just took flour tortillas, a little shredded lettuce, added some of the grilled chicken, some Parmesan cheese, a tiny bit of Caesar dressing (because too much will make the wrap soggy), and wrapped. All three girls had one every day this week and loved it. You could use a rotisserie chicken from your store instead of grilled too. Clearly not a super original lunch idea…but who doesn’t need a quick reminder that chicken Caesar wraps are easy?

Top of the morning to you…

…traveling in Ireland!

Goodness, WE LOVE IRELAND around here! This is one of my very favorite destinations to send our clients. If this has been a bucket list destination for you, we’d love to help! Please REACH OUT TODAY for pricing, details and information about Ireland any of our vacation destinations!
If you’ll recall…

…we took our family to Ireland in 2018…

…and then last summer…

…we took them to visit Northern Ireland. Both trips were some of our VERY favorite!
Contact my travel agency for more information!

If you’re looking for some Saturday sales…

…I rounded up some FALL TRANSITIONAL PIECES HERE as well as…

…JEANS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. You can check those out HERE.

Yesterday was the first pep rally of the season! I LOVE pep rallies! Any time you get the entire school plus so many parents squeezed into the gym for marching band music, dancing, games, and cheers, how can you not have fun? It was a very festive way to kick off game day!

I have been meaning to do this Bible study for YEARS…

…and I finally decided to dive in this week. I like to do a study each season along with my Bible Recap, and I thought this would be an excellent fall study. Since I’m doing two things, it will take me longer to finish (I won’t necessarily do an entire “day” every day), but I’m excited to sprinkle it in each day. I am doing THIS STUDY along with reading the CORRESPONDING BOOK.

I’m not the only one learning how to be Mom Strong at our house 😉 .
The author has seven kiddos and even grandkids. If you’re a mama (or grandmama) wanting a little Biblical encouragement right now, I already really like it.

And all of a sudden…

…our favorite little dinosaur is old enough…

…to play middle school football! We were SO excited to go watch Bowen play in his first middle school game on Wednesday night…

…the running joke for YEARS has been that Bowen is my very favorite child. And you know what? I’ll go ahead and claim that. I love that boy! We ALL love us some Bowen Slaughter. He did SO GOOD! We can’t wait to watch years more of him playing football!

Look at little Kensington holding baby Bowen.
Those babies just don’t keep, friends. They don’t keep.

On Monday this week, we celebrated my VERY favorite day of the year with…

…SHAY’S FAVORITE DAY GIVEAWAY!
How FESTIVE is that haul of fall goodies?!
Ready to know who won?
Congratulations SUSAN FITZPATRICK!
I emailed you this morning, Susan. Please email me back ASAP to claim your prize.
Spoiler alert: there is another giveaway in today’s post!

You guys, how cute are MY JEANS?!
I bought them in the “cropped” style, but they come longer too. Regardless of the style, they come in many different washes, tall, regular, and petite. I bought them in a size 25 ‘regular’ (not petite). I thought the were super cute with my MULES too.
I bought my jeans while looking around in Anthropologie because it’s so…

…FESTIVE! I mean to tell you, I could pull up a chair and just sit and enjoy. Anthropologie is at its finest right now 🙂 .

Between the tableware and the candles, I was in fall heaven 🙂 . I decided that the perfect giveaway for today would be…

…a $50 Anthropologie Gift Card!
One lucky winner will be announced next Saturday and will receive a $50 gift card from me to you.
That wraps up this Saturday!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!
I will see you on Monday! xx

You must enter the Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post in order to be eligible to win (the Rafflecopter will randomly select the name). There is only ONE requirement on the Rafflecopter and that’s “BE A POSITIVE PART OF THE MIX AND MATCH MAMA COMMUNITY IN SEPTEMBER”.
That’s it. Maybe that means you’re thoughtfully commenting on most posts or maybe that means you’re sharing an IG quote of mine, trying out a recipe, reading a new book and being a part of the discussion…whatever it means to you, I just think we are all in this together, so I’m not going to ask you to jump through any hoops for the giveaway. Simply add your entry to the Rafflecopter for your name to be entered if you’re planning on being a thoughtful part of this community this September. That’s it!
Easy as that! I will stop the giveaway and have the Rafflecopter randomly select a name at 2:00 PM CST on September 12th. I will announce the winner’s names here on my blog on Saturday, September 13th.

So enjoy your Saturday post during this season. A hot cup of coffee and reading your post. Football later today so time to make M&M Ultimate Sausage Balls.
Way to go girls—chicken wraps are the best! I always make enough chicken so I have left overs for wraps and tacos. I even made a wrap out of the left over M&M beer cheese joes meat that I had leftover with a side of Tab’s guacamole. Yes, I am still making Tab’s guacamole–LOVE it! It is like an addiction that I have to have on a weekly basis.
Have the Best Weekend!

Those jeans are so cute on you!!! Also, you could imagine my disappointment when, a couple of years ago, all I wanted to do was go to Anthropololgie for my October birthday. By the time we reached the center of the city, it was CLOSED in the middle of the day! Shortly after, all of the stores closed in Paris. So you posting those pictures is extra fun for me. 🙂 Anthropologie is probably my all-time favorite store!
Heather S says
Yay- so glad Tis the Season posts are back! They just make the ‘ber months all that more special!

Recently returned from a 10 day trip to Ireland. As per your suggestion, I watched Derry Girls before we left. Loved it so much that I watched the series twice. Just reread some of your Northern Ireland posts…and now can’t wait to visit that part of the country someday (our trip was only the Republic of Ireland).
Mix and Match Mama says
YAY!!! I love that you watched it before you visited! That is such a great show.
Beth Knecht says

I love fall football! I was at the JV game at that same field watching my Junior play in his first ever football game! Long story, we moved his sophomore year, he played rugby previously.
And the jeans are on sale this weekend!
Cris says
Love the chicken caesar wraps idea! This happy little post makes me wonder about your blog planning process. If you’re willing to share, it would be interesting to read about how you plan: monthly, quarterly, yearly? When you mentioned that you were blogging on Saturdays until December 13, I wondered how long you have known that this would be your fall schedule? Thank you for showing up in this space!
Mix and Match Mama says
Well that’s a good question! I’ve done this now such a long time (over 18 years), that it flows really well for me. I would say that I plan loosely quarterly and then very specifically for each month as it’s approaching. I always take the last 2 weeks of the year off to unplug…so that’s how I knew the date. 🙂
Faith says
Thanks for the lunch idea! I’m always looking for ideas!!
Reba says
I’m inspired to make chicken Caesar wraps for my lunches this week!
That Bible study looks so encouraging! I’ll have to give it a try.
Gail says
For all of the Seasons, I love to walk through and browse Pottery Barn! Great decorating ideas and usually some good sales. It just makes me happy and I usually come home with some fresh ideas.

Saturday posts are my favorite. Fun to see Bowen featured. His friendship with Ashby was always so sweet. Returned recently from a favorite fall town, Leavenworth, Wa and the weather is 70’s in the Pacific NW so fall is in the air.
Dawn M Engle says
I’m going to have to check out my Anthro to see how it compares! Yours looks amazing! Thanks Shay!

Ireland is such a dream destination!! My husband has never really cared that much until he was reminded that college football starts with an away game in Dublin. I told him we could go one year and then spend a week traveling around Ireland and different areas in the UK! He was all for it then LOL We plan to make that happen within the next few years!

Yay how fun to have more Saturday seasonal blogs!
Jen says
You look so cute in your Collette jeans from Anthro. Those are a little out of my price range, but I found a very similar look at Loft called the Palmer Wide Leg in both pants and jeans. I ordered a pair for myself to try this weekend in denim because I already have the pants in several colors. Bonus– all of Loft’s pants are on sale this weekend for $39.
Lori says
Glad I finally live near and Anthro! It’s still hot where I live, but I’m sprinkling a little fall in my home anyway!!
Audrey Winter says
Hi. There’s not a link to the leopard jeans in the Jean round up. Do you have one please?

I also have 3 daughters and MY birthday is also December 13. At first I thought my girls would think it was cool that I share a bday with Taylor Swift. But I think they care much more about Taylor than me! Not really. But, sort of. 🤣
Dee says
Thanks for the bonus post! Bowen’s so tall! I know what you mean about babies not keeping. Our grands are now 5 and 2 with the oldest in kindergarten. We got to go to our first grandparents day at the youngest’s daycare/school and waiting for her older sister’s.
Kelly W Brannan says
Thanks for the easy lunch idea! I’m about to make my weekly grocery order and adding the ingredients for chicken ceasar wraps to my list.
Kay says
I LOVE your Saturday posts and especially in the Fall. I’m in New England and I we looooooove our Falls over here. As you know!
I finally broke down and got a candle warmer. I always buy an Anthro candle each fall because in my opinion, they are JUST the best. Using a candle warmer makes my one candle last the entire season, I used to need 1-2 when I burned them, but this makes the most out of the candle. Just thought I’d share in case anyone wants to splurge on an Anthro candle and make it last longer.
Hope you and your family had a good weekend.
Jillian McCallister says
Love your Saturday posts! They are little gifts and such a great way to start the day. Thank you❤️❤️❤️
