Happy Thursday, friends!
It’s the second (and final) little recap of our fall break trip to New York City with the girls.
If you missed PART ONE, make sure you go back and visit that post too.
Alrighty, here we go…

Coffee, Bible time and a day in NYC ahead of me. A great way to wake up!

The previous day, we had rain, but this day was shaping up to be a gorgeous fall day.

I bought THESE WATER RESISTANT CHELSEA BOOTS for my travels last year and loved them so much that I wore them in NYC in January this year and brought them for this trip too. They’re comfy enough for miles of walking and keep my feet warm and dry. I wore them both days this trip with MY FAVORITE BLACK JEANS and THIS TOP.
We grabbed coffee and walked a bit before deciding to hop in a cab and head to…

…Chelsea Market!

We love Chelsea Market. I think it’s especially fun during the fall and Christmas season…

…we did a little shopping, enjoyed some Halloween candy, and spent about an hour or so inside the market. Kensington left with some tea from the tea shop to take home, Ashby left with a bracelet…it was just a happy little stop.
When we were finished, we walked about 20ish blocks back north…

…stopping for a photo in front of our beloved Bluey and Bingo. We are big Bluey fans!
We visited…

…The Churchill in January and loved it so much that we wanted to bring the girls back for lunch too.

We are big fans of British pub food, and this spot in particular has so much charm AND delicious food.

I mean, yes please!
After lunch, we walked and shopped and found ourselves…

…at Ralph Lauren enjoying afternoon coffee treats at Ralph’s.
Later that evening…

…we got ready for a special early dinner. I bought THIS SLEEVELESS FAUX-SUEDE DRESS and loved it! It’s so soft and really comfortable, didn’t wrinkle…it is the perfect fall dress. I wore it with MY BOOTIES.

We were extra excited because for our last dinner in NYC, we had reservations at…

…The Polo Bar 🙂 .

You guys, it was as wonderful as I’d hoped it would be. I think it would be great year around, but this time of year, it was extra magical with the cozy, Ralph Lauren-y aesthetic, fire places aglow and candles everywhere. All of that plus…

…the hearty and delicious food made it extra amazing.

And that wrapped up our little trip to NYC with our girls 🙂 .
Okay, just a few little resources should you want some extra tidbits today. For starters, if you’re thinking about NYC at Christmas, don’t forget, I just took the younger two girls in December. You can read about THAT TRIP today as well as OUR WINTER IN NYC TRIP from this January. Plus, Ashby and Andrew were there in June, so you can read about THAT TRIP too. All of our trips to NYC can be found HERE.
Also, just one last reminder that…

…MY BARBOUR RAIN JACKET is sold out, but I found the CUTEST “dupe” for a fraction of the price HERE. Goodness, it’s super cute!
Have the best best Thursday! I’ll see you back here tomorrow. xx

Looks like a great trip! My daughter lives in the city and I have been looking for a pair of Chelsea boots for her for Christmas. You styled the perfect pair! Love that suede dress too! Thanks!
Bev says
Hi Shay! Thanks for the recommendation of the Söfft Wedge Bootie you styled recently. I purchased the “Barley” and they are amazing! I ordered my regular sz. 8 but they seem a bit roomy so Nordstrom is kindly sending a “replacement” in 7.5 for me to compare. Did you find them to run big? And I can’t remember if you’re a sock lover or hater, just that it’s an issue between you & Andrew! 😂
Have a lovely day and weekend! 🩷
Mix and Match Mama says
I did not, but I’m so glad you were able to size down!
Haley says
Where did you all stay??
Mix and Match Mama says
This trip, we stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Central Park South.
Paula Hobbs says
The girls so look sweet and so grown up in their black dinner dresses. Such a sweet picture!!!

What a fun trip with all your girls!
Valerie Kiger says
Hi. What bible do you use for your daily bible study?
Mix and Match Mama says
I love the NLT Life Application Study Bible. I have a post about it here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2025/03/how-to-get-started-in-the-bible/
Ann says
I love seeing all your travel adventures!! Can’t wait to see your Disneyland post!!!
Kim Darnell says
Do you have a specific place you like to stay in NYC? Did I miss that part on the 2 part series:)
Mix and Match Mama says
We like to stay on Central Park South in midtown. We like either the JW Marriott or Ritz.
Sonya Derczo says
Love the NYC pics! The link to the dupe of your rain jacket is coming up as a puffer jacket with bows from Target. It doesn’t look anything like your checkered rain jacket. Is this the correct link?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! Tap on the brown one (there are several color options). Target has a really cute brown check puffer too!
Yvonne says
I love NYC! We were there a few days before you, and I totally thought of you because we ate at The Smith!
I watched You Got Mail on the plane ride, and really wished there was A shop around the corner to visit!
Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Kay says
Hi Shay – what a fun trip! Question – can you link your purple Apple watch band, please?
Mix and Match Mama says
It is an oldie but goodie from Amazon. I love it! I wish it were still in stock.
Meggie Knapp says
I’m only 5’1 but really want to try your favorite black jeans. Do I definitely need petite??
Mix and Match Mama says
Hmmmm…I’m 5’3″ and don’t wear them in petite. Do you normally order petite? I don’t, so if you do, then perhaps you should order these petite too.
Jen says
What are your tips for getting a Polo Bar reservation?!
Mix and Match Mama says
Call the second you date is eligible for the reservation. We got a 5:00 PM dining time which wasn’t ideal, but I’m so happy we did it!
Erika Slaughter says
The Polo Bar looks very similar to Ralph’s in Paris! Such a cozy atmosphere! Looks like a great Fall Break getaway was had!
Jill Snethen says
Looks like a great trip. I’ve never been to NYC – but it’s on my bucket list.
Nova says
Thanks for sharing, what a fun trip! What lip color are you wearing with your faux suede dress? It looks divine on you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you! It’s Luminous Lilac by Mary Kay 🙂 .
Dani says
You look so cute with the length of your hair. I’m so glad you don’t have heavy extensions and instead grew it out long. You have such a sunny demeanor!
Heather S says
So jeally you snagged a reservation to the Polo Bar! We’ve tried the past two times we went to the city and they’ve been booked solid. Was the food as yummy as it looked?
Mix and Match Mama says
It most certainly was!!
