Happy Thursday, friends!
It’s 10 RANDOM THINGS: JUNE EDITION!
You know the drill, I have a few random categories and am sharing random tidbits about each one.
Here we go…
10 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT:
10 Random Nantucket Pics :

#1: I snapped this the other afternoon. I was doing some work from the bar, and they were watching TV. I looked up and thought it was so sweet how close together these two sisters were siting. Geez, I love them.

#2: The view from our table at Bar Yoshi.

#3: Walking through town on a sunny Monday.

#4: Besties.

#5: Taking off from the Nantucket airport and heading to Boston.

#6: Mades and friends at the beach.

#7: Our favorite hotel.

#8: Sleepy mornings.

#9: A Cru-cumber and oysters at…Cru 😉 .

#10: The view from our table at Galley Beach.
10 Random Things I Did in McKinney Last Week :
#1: CLEANED OUT THE FRIDGE
You think you have your life together…and then you return home after being gone to find leftover sushi, leftover lasagna, and a leftover crab cake in the fridge. What in the world? I had a partially used (expired!) gallon of milk in there too. Was I trying to come home to the grossest smelling fridge known to man? Apparently I was. Thank goodness I came back when I did and that stuff didn’t sit in there a month!
#2: USED WALMART+
Gosh, I love Walmart+. I mean, I love, love, LOVE it. I had a few groceries delivered the evening I arrived home so I could make dinner and have food for the following few days.
#3: WOUND MY GRANDFATHER CLOCK
I love my grandfather clock. My grandfather passed it on to me, and I baby that thing. I will stop the clock if I’m going to be gone for an extended period of time, but for this trip, I wound it before I left and then again the night I got home.

#4: PICKED VEGGIES
I had a few veggies in my garden! I pulled weeds and brought in my bounty. And by bounty, I mean two jalapeño peppers.
#5: DROVE TO CHEER WITH ERIKA
I picked up my bestie, and we headed to cheer camp together. We were super excited to see our girls!
#6: WALKED WITH LAUREN
I met my sweet friend Lauren for a nice long morning walk.

#7: RAN PAYROLL
I took advantage of a quiet house and got a ton of work done while I was in McKinney including running payroll for my team. Poppy kept me company.
#8: GOT MY NAILS DIPPED
I get my nails “dipped” every 2 to 3 weeks…so I visited my local salon and did that too.

#9: REWASHED MY TRAVEL CLOTHES
I always wear the same thing to and from Nantucket. I don’t have to really pack much since I have everything in both places, so it just makes it easy to wear the same thing. When I got home to McKinney, I washed my travel clothes so that I could put them back on a few days later. I wear the same shoes, jewelry…everything.
#10: WENT THROUGH THE MAIL
I’ve mentioned this before…but I do not like going through the mail. It’s just so boring. It’s all junk. That being said, I went through the mail…and recycled all of it. Unless you’re my Southern Living, I’m not interested in you, mail. 😉

#1: SOLO STOVE
We love our Solo Stove! It’s so easy to use, clean, and move around.

#2: TURTLEBOX
I bought Andrew and my brother one of these speakers for Christmas two years ago, and they love them! They’re waterproof and pretty darn indestructible. Smith even bought one for himself for when he fishes.

#3: BEIS LUGGAGE
Andrew has used my set now twice on trips. It’s really such an efficient way to carry on when you travel. I have an entire post about these pieces HERE.

Andrew LOVES this cup. Every day, he fills it with ice and unsweetened iced tea and takes it to work. Because it doesn’t spill, he can put it in his work bag and go.

#5: OURA RING
Andrew LOVES his Oura Ring. I have an entire blog post about it HERE. He loves it so much that Smith asked for one for his birthday in January, and now, they both wear one.

#6: YETI COOLER
Andrew has had this same backpack Yeti cooler for YEARS. We have traveled with it many times, it has been to more sporting events for our kids than I can count, and it’s especially great for the beach.

#7: CROCS
Okay, stay with me here…Andrew has a pair of crocs by the backdoor that he puts on every single day when he goes outside. They permanently just sit by our backdoor, and he slips them on constantly for yard work, taking out the dogs, getting the mail, etc.

#8: RATCHETING WRENCH & SCREWDRIVER
This is above my pay grade, but Andrew loves his set. I wouldn’t have the foggiest idea what to do with any of this stuff.

#9: MASSAGE GUN
Andrew and Smith are constantly pulling ours out for sore muscles.

#10: JACK BLACK ALL OVER BODY WASH
My mom started buying Andrew this years and years ago. It’s his favorite body wash. My dad and brother both love it too.

You’re right! Thursday in June is like a Friday any time! I love your “bounty” of jalapeno peppers. lol I have contemplated a garden for years. I would love to go out to the garden and pop off a pepper to eat. Have a great June Day!

We are having perfect June weather and, yes, Thursday feels like Friday, which makes this a long weekend 😁☀️

Exactly! 🙂
Lizabeth Kaiser says
Shay! If Andrew likes his Crocs, he will LOVE Kane Active Recovery shoes! They have a slip on version as well as with a back and I have bought them for so many people I must have stock in the company now! Everyone from 2 year old to my 68 year old father in law loves them! In fact, we bought some for my dad for Father’s Day!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank YOU for the rec!!
SS says
I had to laugh at the Teen Titans. All of our kiddos would watch that!!!
Maybe you will see the Auroras tonight. I don’t know how much light pollution is down that way…. I will be waiting here….we need rain but hopefully tht clouds will stay away for a little bit!!!
Susan P Fitzpatrick says
My husband loves his Crocs too and asked for a new pair for Father’s Day. I’m not sure what he was thinking when he threw his current pair in a bag in the back of a truck for a mountain biking trip. They shrunk at least 2 sizes 🤣
Mix and Match Mama says
Hahahaha!
Paula Hobbs says
Every time I see a pic of Charlie, the song “It’s the Hard-Knock Life” pops up in my head. Sweet random things!
Jan says
Which dogs are on Nantucket? Where do the others stay?
Mix and Match Mama says
For this first part of the summer, Charlie came up and the other three are at home in McKinney 🙂 .
Kristy says
I just told my kids to order dad crocs for Fathers Day! He wears my sons in the yard and exclaims over the comfiness.

A A says
On junk mail—I get excited when we get a big haul of junk mail, because we shred it and put it in the bottom of new trash bags each trash day—helps keep the kitchen trash from getting stinky! (Yes I’m easily amused.)
Mix and Match Mama says
I am oddly fascinated by this. What a clever idea?!
Alyssa says
In #5 on Random Nantucket pics– what is that smaller island shown on the right side?! You’ve probably mentioned it before!
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s all Nantucket! That part on the right side of the pic is connected to the island. Nantucket does have a little island off the west side called Tuckernuck, but that’s not in this photo.
samantha brooks carroll says
I love to be inspired by and make handcrafted cocktails at home. Great pic of the Crucumber and oysters, and as luck should have it, Cru actually posts the recipe for that cocktail! I love the combo of cucumber and sesame, can’t wait to try this myself!
Erin Meadows says
I’m always amazed at the resiliency of kids. The ocean temps must be freezing and your girls are out there enjoying it. I’m old and a wuss and could never!
Sherri Chandler says
We are headed to Nantucket in a few weeks and we are all so excited! The only reservation left at Cru was at 10pm but we are going to suck it up and rally for a cru-cumber cocktail!
Mix and Match Mama says
I hope to see you in town! You are going to love Cru…even at my bedtime 😉 .
Debra says
I have complete FOMO on Your Nantucket pictures – have to get there one day. What is the best time to go when things are still open but the major crowds haven’t hit?
Also loved reading the 10 things on not being a grown up and laughed out loud again at many of the things being the same for me – dirty phone and computer screen – my husband is always horrified and cleans them for me. We have every kind of casual and formal glassware and crystal stemware and we still choose the insulated and plastic cups unless we are having a special dinner. And my texting skills are similar to yours! Thanks for the laughs!
Mix and Match Mama says
September! Go early September right after Labor Day 🙂 .
Debra says
Thank you! That is one of our favorite times of year to travel.
Lyndsey says
Hi Shay! Would love to know, what is your travel dress and shoes to ACK? I love the idea of eliminating any need for thought lol. Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
This go around, I have been wearing this really simple little dress that I bought last year at Abercrombie (it’s no longer available) because it can go in the washer and dryer with sneakers and a sweatshirt (in case I get cold). So easy!
