On Tuesday, ASHBY TURNED 14!
And goodness, we have LOVED celebrating her BIG this week 🙂 .
On Monday…
…Ashby and I grabbed Starbucks and headed to the mall.
For her gift this year, she wanted to go shopping with her mama.
We shopped and shopped and had lunch and…
…we stopped to get her second set of ear piercings. She’s been talking about wanting to add a second set this last year, so we decided to do it on her 14th birthday.
SHOPPING + EAR PIERCINGS?!
What? Was it my birthday too?! 😉
We had the best, best day.
On Tuesday (her actual birthday)…
…she wanted to have a swim party with her friends.
Awwww, the joys of the summer birthday.
My other three kiddos are quite jealous of the the swimming/not going to school/ease of the summer birthday.
We had 8 girls come over to swim, eat lunch and…
…enjoy a snow cone from the Kona Ice Truck.
This was exactly what she did last year and loved it so much that she wanted to repeat it this year too.
Her friends left around 3:30, and then at 4:30…
…we partied more!
My parents came over and the eight of us had a birthday dinner for Ashby. She wanted a charcuterie board, spaghetti, Caesar salad, and banana pudding.
Around 7:30, two of Ashby’s besties came back over for a sleepover.
Needless to say, it was a FULL day celebrating our sweet 14 year old 🙂 .

Question for travel agent Shay: my 8 year old son hates going on airplanes because he can’t stand the smell in an airplane. LOL. Any tips or tricks?

It does sometimes smell funky. What about bringing peppermint candies on board for him to enjoy? They smell nice too 🙂 . Or maybe a freshly laundered favorite blanket that smells really good (you can even spray something extra nice on there!) that he can snuggle while on board?

Looks like Ashby had a wonderful birthday! ❤️ She’s a lucky girl to have a summer birthday. I should have done 1/2 birthdays for my girls when they were younger. One has a birthday in March and my youngest is in January. Those were always the months when everyone was sick with strep throat or flu!! ☹️

For the cruise, is that price per person or per cabin? If cabin, how many people does it sleep? Family of 5!

That’s double occupancy pricing, but this is when it works really well for a family of five because you would have to get two cabins regardless (max is four per cabin), so one of your cabins would be the discounted price and then we can get you right next door and connected to the other cabin.
