Happy Friday, friends!
You guys, I’m not sure what happened but this week got away from me. It wasn’t particularly busy or out of the norm, but it just went by in a flash.
I’m over here trying to SAVOR MY PUMPKINS but the days are going by so fast.
I need this fall time to slow down a bit. February and August may go quickly, but please “‘ber” months, please slow down.
One of my very favorite things this week has been the eclectic mix of blog posts and chats we have had. I truly, truly cannot THANK YOU enough for all of your feedback on the AUDIOBOOK post. If you missed that one (or if you read it earlier in the day), make sure you go back and read the comment section. I have already picked my next three audiobooks just off of that section.
Also, thank you, thank you for the fun discussion yesterday with our TOP FIVE, BOTTOM FIVE: TEENAGERS post. It’s always so nice to chat about these things with YOU!

When I made my weekly Trader Joe’s run on Monday, I found just a few more fun things to add to my SEPTEMBER HAUL…
How cute is this little wool pumpkin? ADORABLE!
Later in the week, I stopped by my friend Lauren’s house, and she had the mini ones tucked into her foyer flower arrangement. They were so cute.
I put this next to my bed. It smells so nice!
My girls were so excited that I brought this little set home. How fun, right?
The beauty section at Trader Joe’s is perfect for everyone, but I find they always have extra cute things for teens and tweens (although, I used the candy corn lip butter and loved it too!).
Random purchase but my kids LOVED the taco beef sticks this week!
We love watching our kids “do their thing” and this week, we got a double dose of Asbby!
On Monday night…
…we went to her cross country meet. She did SO GOOD! We were so proud!
And then on Tuesday night, we went to watch Ashby…
…get video footage of the 8th grade football game. She’s in broadcast journalism, and her “beat” is athletics. Andrew and I enjoyed watching Bowen play football and Ashby take video.
See her over there? It was a lovely night of middle school football watching!
Well, sort of.
You see this game was at McKinney North High School which has the most poorly designed football field in all of the universe.
During the game, I laughed out loud when Ashby texted me this photo from her perspective…
…bahahahaha! Do you see us?! I could not stop laughing. I am legit trying to lower my baseball hat to the lowest possible angle so that I can see a smidgen of the field while protecting my vision, Andrew is looking away, and every last Slaughter has their hand up. The sun is TERRIBLE for the stands at this field.
This was certainly a fave this week…
…how cute is my SWEATSHIRT-LIKE ATHLETIC DRESS?! It was like wearing a sweatshirt…but it’s a dress! I bought it in grey, but it comes in other colors too.
