This quote has nothing to do with today’s post but every time I read it, I laugh out loud.
Seriously.
Out. Loud.
And then want to cry.
Buuuuut…I digress…
…today, I’m sharing a few little recent Amazon finds. Several of these items have been super helpful supplementing/aiding with our school work, and some of it is completely random. Here we go…
…this pic makes me laugh. Our pool friends often try to fly away. Apparently, they prefer the creek to the pool water, so sometimes, they fly out of one and into the other. Here Andrew is bringing them back to their designated spot…the pool 🙂 . We always get our giant inflatables on Amazon. The flamingo is HERE and the duck is HERE.
My mom has this at her house, so I finally ordered me one too! It’s perfect for all of my beaded bracelets (which by the way, are all Kinsley Armelle from over the years).
I bought this thermal spray for my hair and LOVE IT! I’ve only used it twice, but it smells absolutely amazing! I sprayed it on my hair before curling it both times. Seriously, I can’t rave about the scent enough! It’s very fresh!!
Awwww! My girlfriends are going to love this!! I just ordered this Bible study to do for the second time. The first time I did it, we were all so young and pregnant with our first babies!! We would meet at Starbucks every week and discuss it. I thought it was time to do it again 🙂 .
You girls have been seeing me wear these three bracelets…all three are a set on Amazon for only $17! Aren’t they cute?!
One of the things we’ve been working on over here during our homeschool time is the art of letter writing. I’ve been having my kiddos write letters and notes and then learn how to address and stamp them so that they know, emails and texts are not the only way to do things 🙂 . I bought this set HERE for them to use.
For those of you Bible pen people, these are my favorite! I just bought another set because my kiddos stole some of mine. They don’t bleed through the pages.
Speaking of which, Kensington has been doing this devotional…
…and Smith has been doing this one…
There is nothing more useless than a pencil that hasn’t been sharpened…and it only took me about 30 seconds of homeschooling before I realized, that’s all my children had. Urg. I bought this three pack HERE.
Oh my word, I’m so happy I bought this bucket of shapes! This is a great thing for Madeley and Ashby to do while I’m working with the big kids. They can sort (by shape, size, color, number of sides), build and create. These have been loved over here!
And finally, I bought this workbook for Madeley to go through while I’m helping the big kids. This has been PERFECT for her! I would say that it’s great for kids much younger than her too as many of these things she can do without any help or instruction from me. It works on everything from shapes to sorting, drawing letters and words…so much. I love it!
Okay, what’s the very last thing you Prime-d yourself? I want to know! Mine is HERE.
The last time I did one of these Amazon posts, I was asked to link all of them to make it easier. If you want to see my other Amazon Lately’s click HERE.
Happy Tuesday, friends! See you tomorrow!!!
Lauren says
I love these posts!! The very last thing I primed was super glue. Our daughter accidentally broke a puzzle piece when taking it apart. Super glue to the rescue!
I did a Prime post last week of you want to check it out:
http://www.allaboutthatmommylife.com/2020/04/what-ive-been-priming.html?m=1
Mix and Match Mama says
Super glue saves everything!
Jennifer says
I love your Amazon finds post! I tried to link pictures of MINE but it won’t let me do pictures here. I got an air fryer- so I’m hoping i can search your recipes for some with an Air Fryer…. or maybe you can do a post all about it?!
I also ordered some Brain Quest workbooks. They have them at Target as well and are the best workbooks I’ve ever used (i have lots of kids like you :). They are like $12 and are amazing. Have some summer workbooks to bridge between two grades and also have them for just each grade. I got the 4th and 5th grade books to work on and review with my 5th grader. Can’t say enough how GOOD they are!
Stay Safe!
Love following you-
Mix and Match Mama says
Looking those up right now, Jennifer! Thank you!!
Jenn says
Yes! We got our first Brain Quest summer books last summer and they are the best we have ever gotten! Using the regular grade books (much bigger) now that we are “Crisis Schooling”. The summer bridge books have a sticker map that the kids can fill out as they finish each section. The regular grade books don’t have the map to keep them motivated but do have lots of fun “great job” type of stickers to use.
Brain Quest also makes some SUPER AWESOME workbooks with a Star Wars theme for kids who love Star Wars! They have a reading and writing book as well as math books for each grade. My daughter just got the 3rd grade reading and writing one for Easter and it is so SO good! It is much more fun for her to learn how to do these tasks when some of her favorite characters are helping her learn! I am going to order one for my up coming kindergartner now as well! Def. check them out!
Sarah says
Your pool is gorgeous! What security measures do you have in place to ensure your kids remain safe with a pool at home?
Mix and Match Mama says
We have several but the top ones are of course, locks on all doors all the time (and high locks too!) plus every time a door opens, it says “back door exterior door opened” or whichever door around the house has been opened really loudly all throughout. It’s annoying (for example, Andrew leaving to go out in the garage this morning, I heard it very early!), but then, we always know when doors are opened. Things like that!
Brooke says
What sort of alarm system is this?
Mix and Match Mama says
For the doors? It’s through our alarm carrier.
Carly says
God bless Amazon Prime. Question, I would imagine you haven’t done a vacation post to be sensitive to current times. If possible, I’d love to see a post on Aulani. But TOTALLY understand if it’s just not the right time!
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s exactly why, Carly! We’re hoping to wait for sunnier days and then also combine it with a giveaway!
M says
Just FYI…Aulani is great. It has a lazy river and water slides steps away from the beach. About six Disney characters usually arrive during the meal times (and a few will arrive for autographs later in the day). If you don’t like to wait in buffet lines to eat mediocre meals, avoid eating there. Otherwise, it’s a good Disney option for kids + fun in Hawaii.
Carly says
Thank you! Something to look forward to with the posts 🙂
Erika Slaughter says
Ahhhhhh!!!!!! I remember that study like it was yesterday!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m so excited to do it again!!!

I had completely forgotten about those shapes! I should get these for my son what a great idea! Last thing we primed was a tide powder, borax, and a type of arm and hammer to strip our clothes – I can’t wait to get it all in and do my husband’s gym clothes!! lol!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Odor CLINGS on those clothes!!
Erika says
Did you watch the viral Instagram video?! I saw it and ordered the same. I’m so scared to do our bedsheets ?
I primed myself a romper to look somewhat pulled together around the house!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love a romper!!
Casey says
I did and oh my goodness – it is so yucky looking!! Is it weird that I am excited to see how gross our stuff actually is?! LOL!!
Jess says
The last thing I primed was last night laying in bed, I ordered a mole trap ???. We have moles in our backyard that have taken over! Wish us luck
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh! Moles are the bane of my mom’s existence! You should DM her and ask her about it because she has spent years figuring out how to get rid of them (@loweinteriors on IG)!
Mother Henn says
Please have her do a feature….we struggle with them too!
Jessica says
Hi there, curious how you organize and store everything for your kids?!
Mix and Match Mama says
Like their toys and stuff? Bins. I prefer open bins because anytime my kid puts something in a closed bin, they never see/think of it again. I’ve purchased several different types off of both Land of Nod and PB Kids over the years.
Tara G. says
The littles might enjoy the Jan Fair books to use with their tangrams.
https://janfair.com/our-work/
Emily says
I was going to mention that as will. The shapes are called tangrams. You can find books or Google free tangram printables. You can find them for kids with an outline of the shapes or you can find just pictures and you figure out how to put the shapes together to make the picture. This actually comes from China. Tangram pictures are always done with 7 shapes (at least that is how they were originally designed in China). The history is fascinating.
Stacy says
Love that you’re teaching how to write a letter. My grandmother was big on written thank you notes. And I’ve tauggt my kids to write their thank you notes. It’s a lost art. Now I’m off to order those cute notes!
Kerry says
The last thing I primed Sally Hansen nail serum and a biotin supplement. I’m on a mission to fix my quarantine nails!
Leah says
Last thing I primed was a silk pillowcase, spiral hair ties, biotin and melatonin. Was diagnosed with breast cancer and started treatment a couple weeks ago. So I’m trying to keep my hair healthy and on my head as long as possible!
Megan Johnson says
Sending prayers!!!
Jessica Foster says
Leah, I’m praying for you! Best to you
Jenn says
Leah I will be praying for you! I was diagnosed with breast cancer on February 19 of 2019 (my 47th birthday). I used a silk pillowcase as well! I conquered a bilateral mastectomy with 14 lymph nodes removed with immediate reconstruction, chemo, and 5 weeks of radiation. I am so proud to say that I am now CANCER FREE! And my hair is growing back so fast (thanks to Collagen) and it is so curly! I had stick straight hair all of my life so this is definitely a change- but I love it. There will be tough days ahead, but you WILL get through this! xoxo
Jenn says
Oops I meant 46th birthday. Chemo brain is real:)
Mix and Match Mama says
I am so happy you ladies connected! I’m going to stop and pray for both of you RIGHT NOW!
Kristin Wilkerson says
Jewelry cleaner because I have the time to clean it all! And whitening toothpaste because the coffee/caffeine intake has drastically increased during these days!
Mix and Match Mama says
Which jewelry cleaner did you buy??
Lacey says
Loooove your pool!!! We are about to build one, and I am curious the size/ dimensions of yours?!
Mix and Match Mama says
I should know the answer to this…hmmm…
Jen says
Great list! I’ve been buying all the things to make working and schooling from home as easy as possible (always seem to be out of printer paper and toner!). And anything I can think of to keep my 3rd grader busy…she completed all of this week’s e-learning assignments before lunch yesterday! So now she has lots of new board games (Blokus and Rubik’s Race have been favorites so far) and lots of puzzles! The last thing I primed for myself was a ukulele! I’ve always wanted to learn to play, and working from home and not having spring sports has left me with a lot of extra time I’m not used to having! Great idea with the note cards…adding some to my list for my kids to send to their teachers and friends they are missing!
Jill says
You can print free tangram pattern mats your girls would love. Look on Pinterest. There’s lots! We just Primed an odd assortment…outdoor extension cord for our pressure washer, hair conditioner, weed spray, and rubber gardening gloves! Spending lots of our “free time” at home working outside!
Alissa says
A bassinet for our 3 week old baby boy! If we’re having to be stuck at home I am so grateful to have him (and our 2.5 year old) to love on! ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwwwww! congratulations!!!
Leslie Reese says
I always love these prime posts. I’m going to have to try out those sharpners for my classroom when school opens. They look durable. We go through so many sharpners of all kinds in a year. I bet the girls would love some tangram puzzles to go with those shapes. They have some really cute ones now. Have a good Tuesday. 🙂
Andrea says
We are putting in a pool this year. Can’t wait!! What to you use to store all the toys and floats?
Mix and Match Mama says
A big bin from Home Depot during the year (and we let the floats just float 24/7). During the winter, we take out the air.
Sara Burnette says
These are on their way to me. I love them! I had them in Europe years ago and then a friend in Italy sent some to me several years back. They are a perfect afternoon pick me up! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y8Y5F4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Brooke says
Hi Shay!
I am obsessed with the cute sandals you are wearing in the picture showing off your fun bracelets! Where are they from?
Mix and Match Mama says
I keep them on the floor because I keep putting them on!! They’re in this post here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2020/04/spring-beauty-routine/
Staci Patyrak says
I got a stylus for each of my girls (2nd & 1st grade) to use with the school ipads. I noticed that that struggled with drawing/writing on the ipad with their finger and the stylus has helped with their confidence level while learning from home. I’ve ordered sticker by number books for my kids and myself. For the kids, they help with number/letter practice and just following through to the finish line. For me, they are a stress reliever. I’ve primed ALL THE SIDEWALK chalk. Let’s see…a hover soccer ball for indoor play. I may or may not have ordered a couple jumpers for myself (I did). The hubby has primed workout clothes (which are doubling as work from home clothes). Our biggest purchase during this quarantine was a Nintendo Switch gaming system. We got Just Dance 2020 so that we can all dance together (a fun way to get in some physical activity…especially when that weather is unpleasant. We recently got Super Mario Party. It is like a board game. You can work on teams or individually. It has been fun to really see everyone’s game style and can also be a good lesson in sportsmanship.
Mix and Match Mama says
I love the idea of a stylus for the iPads!!
Jill K. says
I love that you are teaching letter writing. One evening, several months ago, my 16 year old son was sending a package to a friend, when he asked me where to put our address and where to put hers on the box. It was then I realized I had failed as a mother! LOL. On the other hand, I was grateful for the opportunity to teach him then so that he didn’t someday have to ask a fellow co-worker the same question. And I’m determined to redeem myself by teaching my youngest child the skill of addressing a package.
Mix and Match Mama says
It took a global pandemic…but it’s one thing I want them to know how to do when we come out of this!
Shirley says
I definitely want those pens you featured! I gave up excess spending for Lent so when that was over yesterday, I treated myself to the book, “Project 333,” and an IRIS storage organizer & golf tees to make a sewing thread storage system (trying to get my sewing supplies in order!)
Leslie S says
My latest prime order came yesterday: a milk frother, silicone microwave popcorn maker, silk pillowcase, and temporary tattoos! Lol
Mix and Match Mama says
I love the randomness here!!! 🙂
Brooke says
Great finds! Your pictures of Kensington’s and Smith’s devotionals made me think that they may like Write the Word for Kids if you haven’t already seen/heard about these journals: https://cultivatewhatmatters.com/products/the-kids-bundle They’re coming out with a girls goal planner, too, that’s targeted toward girls Kensington’s age: https://cultivatewhatmatters.com/pages/girls-goal-planner Just thought I’d pass along in case you were interested!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you so much, Brooke!!
Suzanne Rodriguez says
I bought a brisket knife for my husband because he’s into smoking brisket now… which I am ok with! I also bought a new supply cup for our almost one year old. And I also bought stationary and postcards to mail my students so they can write me back! 🙂
Suzanne Rodriguez says
Sippy cup! Autocorrect doesn’t know that word!!
Mix and Match Mama says
A brisket knife??? Looking it up right now!!
Keisha Dawson says
I primed some more velvet hangers…where do our hangers disappear too? And a tennis trainer for my high schooler. He’s so anxious about staying in shape with all of the courts closed. We are hoping this will keep him in shape and ready for varsity try outs, whenever those may happen.
Angela Ellingson says
Love these posts! I just ordered those pens! Before that the last thing I Amazon Primed was ice cream themed birthday decorations for my almost 4-year-olds birthday. 🙂
Melissa says
Love our recent finds. I had the MOST boring prime order – garbage bags and dishwasher pods! Also a Harry Potter puzzle that probably won’t get here for a month 🙂
Dawn Kitley says
Did you do a Beth Moore bible study before this one? Which one was it? Thanks so much!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I did her study on David (so this will continue with King Solomon). It was my second time to finish that one, and I loved it even more the second time around.
Mindy says
Thank you, just ordered those pens and they were super discounted!! Last thing I primed was a big Mad Libs book for a kiddos birthday! Any devotionals recs that K and S may have done that are appropriate for kids aged 8? Thanks!
Seri Roth says
The last item I primmed was this steamer and oh my goodness, it changes the cleaning game forever!

I really need to stop buying things from Amazon! My big girls mentioned that it feels like Christmas around here with all the deliveries!! So this is what I ordered last and they came this morning!!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FQP5Q17/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are Stride Rite sandals for my 3 year old! I was lucky enough to have done most of my Spring/Summer shopping for all of my children right before the lock down. But I hadn’t bought their sandals because we usually get those when we get our new Easter Outfits…which we did not get this year!
The other thing I bought…an above-ground pool! Our HOA doesn’t allow trampolines, play houses or pools in the backyard! But over the last few weeks almost all of our neighbors have put up trampolines!! We have a beautiful pool in our sub-division, but I don’t think they will open any of them! So I got one for us!! Just trying to think ahead! I have 10 kiddos to keep active! Praying things open back up soon! Stay safe and healthy!
Dana says
I love these posts! Recent buys: “Keep Calm and Flatten the Curve” t-shirt, Kindergarten Mind Benders workbook, Power Wheels replacement battery, an embroidered US flag, and Capt Underpants #9.
Cyndie says
I see other people have suggested Tangram cards to go with the shapes you bought. I’m retired, but at my school we used them K-3 for many activities. I would also put the cards and Tangrams out for parent nights and have parents work and actually struggle over some of the puzzle cards, so I’d think the two older kids would enjoy them too. There are many, many free cards on line and many books you can order. Another suggestion that we did in second grade was for each child to make their own game board and cards to play it with. They loved this and there were so many different versions. The kids would beg to play with the unique game boards during free time or indoor recess. We just used large pieces of construction paper, but any size is fine. One more thing, I love that you are having your kids write letters and address envelopes. Hopefully they will get a return letter in the mail–they’ll be thrilled.
Rebecca @ EveryPieceFits.com says
God bless Amazon Prime for real! The last thing I Primed was a Mike Myers mask to prank my husband (I prank him a lot…)!!! Before that it was a bunch of CUTE summer dresses because it’s been getting too hot for me in Houston. I shared them in a blog post on Friday. 🙂 I’m going to order that Devotional. I adore Beth Moore and her devotional always help me.
Mix and Match Mama says
That is hilarious!
Tami Rylaarsdam says
A better office chair for my husband, hot tub head rests and chemicals. I sent an early birthday gift to our son. A kindle because he was using his wife’s kindle and I don’t want anyone fighting right now. I threw in covers for both and lip gloss for her. It’s a good way to send someone fun mail right now.
Kim says
I just placed an order last night and I think it may have gotten away from me ?
It was all the boredom busting randomness needed to navigate the stay in place order and very few necessities ??♀️
1/4” elastic, ear thermometer covers, unflavored gelatin, transparent pony beads, Kindergarten word search book, canvas panels, brain quest workbooks for 5th, Kinder, & preK, Tuli heel cups, & a Coleman Tripod grill for bonfire cooking.
I may need to go back and order those tangrams! I loved those when I was in school.
Kathy says
Love these types of posts! Guess it’s because I’m nosy, and I also like to see what everyone else is ordering so I know I’m not the only one keeping Amazon in business! 🙂 So just in the past week, I’ve ordered:
Nature’s Bounty Protein Shake powder
Grocery order from Whole Foods
Crayola Art Case coloring set for granddaughters
Sombra Warm Therapy Natural Pain Relieving Gel
Skechers Go Walk shoes in taupe
Jergen Sunless Tanner
MicrodermaMitt Body Scrub
i-Blason case for iPhone 11
Naipo Shiatsu Back & Neck Massager
McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning
Oh, and that’s not counting the things my husband has ordered for our upcoming move!
Chrys says
Shay, this has nothing to do with Amazon, but since you love to travel, I am intrigued in knowing how you are dealing with all travel business, personally and professionally. Our Spring Break was canceled and we are about 99% sure that our Mediterranean cruise is not happening this summer either. Did you already cancel your future trips with your family? I am DYING to read about your recent trip because we love cruising (and NCL) and also because I want to read something FUN! It breaks my heart that all travel is on hold right now, but safety and good health is the most important at this time. ?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s a really hard time for the travel industry, that’s for sure! I haven’t cancelled my family’s vacation yet for this summer and am optimistic that I won’t have to…if we’re not able to go, we’ll rebook for next year (which is what our customers are doing with their March, April and May trips). It’s a yucky time.
Stefany says
Not only is our daughter a senior(and missing out on her Prom, last quarter senior activities and especially graduation) she is also turning 18 in a couple weeks…she wanted a Bee piñata for her birthday ?…so I am surprising her with a Bee themed party…found everything on Amazon. Also got her this game for Easter…Sequence dice, we have been playing it non stop…quick and fun.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh God bless YOU, mama! I’m sorry she’s missing so much!!!

The last thing we Primed was deodorant, dog food, and chap stick! Nothing too exciting, but it beats a trip to the store!
Last night I downloaded “The Grace Kelly Dress” book onto my Kindle and I can’t wait to get started reading it! I’m trying to finish up “Floating Feldmans” right now and it’s a slow burn but I have to finish before starting a new book. I can’t not finish!

Thank you for teaching your children “life skills” along with their school work. I work at a high school and help out in a junior level English class this year. One of their assignments was to write a letter and address an envelope. Not one student had any clue how to address and stamp the envelope. I’m not kidding! I was sweating by the time the class ended from running around trying to help all of them.
Tricia says
Hi Shay,
I always love these posts! The last thing I primed was a game Erika said she ordered off Amazon. It’s called “I’m Bored Out of my Mind I Want to do Something That’s Not Parent Approved”. What a GREAT game! The Easter Bunny brought it for my girls and we’ve been playing it non-stop! I’m talking “pee your pants” kind of laughing! ?

I am going to PRIME those pens right now! Someone else recommended a brand of pens and they bled through my very favorite Bible ?.
With private club/public pools possibly not opening this summer, we are considering putting one in at our home. I have always swoon over yours ?….do you know the dimensions, depth and size of your sun deck? Thank you!! Safe safe and healthy!!

I primed a cute binder, divider pockets and decorated paper to get all of my recipes organized and in one place! Thanks for the Beth Moore Bible study idea. I need a new daily devotion book. Can you recommend a few besides Jesus Calling?
Mix and Match Mama says
That one really is my fave but she has Jesus Always too. I would work through a Bible study next after you’ve completed the Jesus Calling or do the One Year Bible (that’s fantastic too!).
Mary Jane McNeill says
My super random Amazon Prime order from this morning: a Coleman folding shovel with pick and a Morakniv Eldris fixed blade knife (I’m putting together a emergency car kit for my husband’s birthday), a Pillow Pad multi-angle tablet stand (I’m a sucker for commercials), and some Folex carpet spot remover because I have kids AND dogs, 100 pcs of gift tissue, and ground flax. I’m allllll over the place!!
PLUS…take the advice of a 17 yr homeschooling mom…just go ahead and get an ELECTRIC pencil sharpener!! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
So wise 🙂 !
