Happy What’s Up Wednesday!
I have a very random assortment of things to share with you today, so grab that coffee and settle in.
As always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
From my home to yours, HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
On Monday night, we had dinner once everyone was done with their sports and activities. On the menu? My Easy Weeknight Frito Pie but with jalapeno Fritos because THEY’RE SO FREAKING AWESOME.
Last night, I made my Easy Shrimp Fried Rice but added chicken in the mix too! My kids always love this recipe as well!
And tonight…
…my Simple Sausage, Peppers & Onions. Basically, if the world “easy” or “simple” is in the title, I’m making it this week.
Anyone else go through this time of year and constantly think back to 2020? I know I sure do! I was looking through my pics the other day, and even though those were certainly scary and uncertain times, it’s moments like these, I often think back on. We would eat lunch together outside every day…
…it was so sweet having them all to myself. Zero things on the calendar but a whole lot of kiddo time.
Here we were doing “PE” one day. I feel like their wardrobe screams “QUARANTINE”. Hahahaha! Sweet pics. I think back to that season often.
YOU GUYS! I CAN’T QUIT IT! Okay, I am officially a BELIEVER when it comes to Walmart+ grocery delivery. Why the heck did it take me so long to try it? I’m now using the service at least once a week (sometimes twice). I just had it delivered yesterday for (I think) my fifth or sixth time. It was just one month ago that I tried it out for the first time and blogged my step by step experience HERE. On the way home from church on Sunday, I opened my app in the car and everyone told me what they needed for the week (school snacks, Gatorade, lunch stuff, etc), and I added it to my cart along with items for dinner on Monday and Tuesday night. It was all delivered within two hours. I’m loving this service now as a busy working mom of four active kiddos, but I cannot imagine how much I would have loved it back in the day when I had two babies at home…or any day that I was post-surgery/not feeling well.
Clearly, y’all…I’m loving it. Ha!
We’re BAAAAAAACK…
If you missed it on Monday, The Bestie Breakdown Season 4 Episode 1 is now out!
Here I am recording Episode 2 (which airs soon!). We have a new format this season, so make sure you’re subscribed/following/have favorited our podcast on your favorite platform. We’re already so encouraged by the feedback just from Monday! Thank you all for listening!
Here’s what I’m NOT DREADING (because today, I’m going to put a very positive spin on this!), Miss Ashby hasn’t had a nosebleed in about six months.
SIX MONTHS.
You guys, I could cry.
As many of you know, Ashby has had DAILY nosebleeds since we’ve been a family. Even though it’s not “technically” a symptom of Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome, it’s very common for patients with KTS to suffer massive nosebleeds often. Doctors will tell you there is no link…but everyone in my FB groups would beg to differ. Based on the sheer volume of nosebleeds Ashby has had in her lifetime, it seemed like an obvious connection. Listen, nosebleeds are terrible, but having one every single day when you’re already battling other issues is really adding insult to injury ON TOP OF WHICH, when you’re on massive injectable blood thinners twice a day, you don’t need to bleed at all. Any bleeding turns into major bleeding. So, PRAISE JESUS that our girls seems to have outgrown it (which is also super common and completely unrelated to KTS). YEARS of our sweet girl having to deal with this *might* be over. Even if they were to come back today, we feel incredibly thankful for this reprieve.
Over here at Mix and Match Travel Agency, I’m a busy bee sending clients all over the world. How adorable are these two?! They just arrived home from a fabulous vacation…
…at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii 🙂 . Who wouldn’t love that?!
Contact us today for more information on our vacation planning services and also sign up for our monthly newsletter where we share deals, specials and information on vacation planning. We would love to help you too!
Who are we and what have we done with our normal selves?! Ha! We bought something fun to scoot around Nantucket on…no worries, helmets came too. Let’s all be clear…my helmet is gigantic to fit my gigantic head. #sigh 😉
My MARCH BOOK REVIEW will be out TOMORROW!! Woohoo! In the meantime, don’t forget to read my FEBRUARY BOOK REVIEW and especially that comment section for great reads this next month.
Always a classic to have in the background while I’m working. It’s so very “spring”!
Sometimes when you’re looking on Abercrombie’s website, it just bosses you around and tells you what to add to cart 🙂 . It works well with my Vuori leggings (which are so comfy!) too!
Striped tank and comfy sandals (they come in so many other colors!) for the win! My tank is on sale too!!
A light little sweater tee that’s on sale? Yes, please!
If you missed these SPRING THINGS on Friday…
…how adorable is this gauzy button up?! It comes in three different color options (I bought it in blue-ivory). It’s perfect with my MOTHER jeans. Speaking of which…I LOVE this soft split neck top too! It comes in SEVEN different springy patterns. It’s just an easy way to get dressed…comfortable jeans, cute top, sandals and out the door you go!
Speaking of comfy and cute…
Oh my word, how cute are these dresses?! They’re so soft, so comfy and would work so well for running errands, travel, lunch with your girlfriends or dinner on the patio. I bought both the SOLID (also in grey) and the STRIPE (also comes in green) in xs and feel they run TTS. And once again, I was so surprised by how comfy these sandals are!
It’s my main man’s BIRTHDAY! We are going to celebrate Andrew all weekend long 🙂 .
This pic is from last April and just sums up the month. Lots of outside family time for the Shull six enjoying the beautiful weather and all the springtime sports.
Speaking of which…
…we bought two more of THESE OUTDOOR CHAIRS for games this season. They’re just the best. They’re light, they’re comfy, they have a cupholder and they rock. Sitting outside watching youth sports is all about the chair 😉 .
That wraps up What’s Up Wednesday for March 2023!
Don’t forget, if you blogged WUW too, make sure you link up below.
Have a wonderful day, friends! I’ll see you back here tomorrow for my MARCH BOOK REVIEW! xx

Shay, let me tell you Walmart delivery is a godsend for vacation! I just placed an order to arrive at my Disney resort! Water breakfast & snacks! So convenient. And how cool if we forgot something like sunscreen? Two hour delivery! It’s such a piece of mind knowing I can order whatever we need. I’m sold on Walmart+

THAT IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!! (And I’m correcting that link right now! Thank you!)

I found myself saying Awe to so many of your pix.
2020-I was looking at my old pix recently too and was thinking soooo much has changed!!!
Give Ashby a big hug. I know it is a thing when I was pregnant…but dang I had horrible nose bleeds everyday. It was so scary and I was an adult. I can’t imagine being a kiddo with nose bleeds everyday!!!
Tell Andrew Happy Birthday!!!! Have fun celebrating him!!!
Dana P says
Love all of this! Smith has changed so much since 2020…it’s crazy how they just walk away from what they looked like as little kids. 🥹 I love big kids/young adults too, but there is definitely grief in them not being little anymore.
For anyone who has a child with a specific chronic condition, those Facebook groups can be amazing! The doctors said for years that our daughter’s (self-resolving) seizures weren’t related to her diagnosis either, but then our Facebook group came along and we realized that they were and now doctors know that, too. The reprieve has to be such a relief for Ashby’s nosebleeds! 🙌🏼

Based on your recommendation, I’m listening to These Silent Woods right now, and I definitely see what you mean! It’s not scary but it’s SO suspenseful!
Mix and Match Mama says
You’re not scared but you’re nervous you’re about to be scared, right?! 😉
Carol says
YES! And gosh daring, I am ON HIS SIDE! LOL.
Victoria says
My credit card happened to start offering free Walmart Plus as a perk the month my daughter was born. What great timing! She’s now 15 months and has only been in a grocery store one time.
Mix and Match Mama says
I cannot even imagine how amazing that’s been for you!!!
Beverly says
Keep a key or metal spoon in your freezer. Apply to back of neck during nose bleed and it stops them instantly.

Those girls had a BLAST in Hawaii! Can’t wait to see where you take us next Break!

FYI I have the GCI comfort pro rocker (search on Dicks) and it’s a game changer for all the youth sports! Has normal cup holder, phone slot and a rocker, BUT the BEST part is no annoying bag to wrestle! It has a strap built on it. Here’s the link, I promise it’s that good!

That Frito pie looks delicious, and I bet it would be extra yummy with the jalapeno Fritos! I can’t wait to see your book reviews tomorrow, and also, the cup you’re holding that has the leaves on it reminds me of the Golden Girls! 🙂
Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!

Kacy M says
Awesome Vespa!! My mom had one too!

Great recap of the month, and yes, my mind goes back to march of 2020 too. A lot of it was horrible, but our family was really blessed to be able to stick together and put a really positive spin on it – for at least the first couple months! haha! So glad the nosebleeds have stopped and praying that they don’t come back! Thanks for hosting!
Jaren says
I think back to our time in 2020 all the time too! We made a ton of special memories without all the things that send us going in different directions. I will be forever grateful for those days with my kids!
And I’m loving the new Bestie Breakdown!!!
