Happy What’s Up Wednesday!
As always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Ready, set, here we go…
You guys seem to be enjoying my new “MY PLATE” series. I know the pics aren’t great, but these are true “I’m sitting down at 8:00 PM for dinner after a busy day and this is legit what’s on my plate photos”.
On my plate from Monday night…
…my BBQ STUFFED SWEET POTATOES. You can catch all of the specifics HERE. You can also catch…
MY CHICKEN & BROCCOLI FRIED RICE
Awwwww, you guys, the talent show on Friday night at our elementary school was SO PRECIOUS!!! Madeley and about 10 of her third grade friends did a dance that her big sister choreographed and taught them (bless sweet Kensington, she worked with them every Wednesday after school for six weeks). They did SUCH a great job!!! Ashby participated in the 5th grade girls traditional “cup song” which ends the talent show each year, and it was THE SWEETEST!!
What did it make me think about?
This…
…agh! MY HEART!
You guys, this was when Kensington was in the fourth grade and Ashby was in kindergarten, and they stood on that stage and did a duet in matching costumes to Let it Snow acapella at that year’s talent show. I mean, knowing them “now”, it would be hard to imagine this as neither of them would EVER do it today, but geez, I’m so happy they did it then. It’s pretty much my favorite memory of these two sisters together.
Well, I mean, outside of this one…
…if you know, you know 😉 .
Oh my goodness, I have been SO PLEASED with THIS PJ SET that you can mix and match! The quality really exceeded my expectations (especially considering the price). I bought mine in navy, but it comes in so many other color combos too!
All sorts of sweet things…
…I found this selfie (edited and all!) on my phone 🙂 .
It was a beautiful day on Sunday, so this girlie and I walked over 3 miles together including stopping for drinks at Starbucks. We chatted and chatted and chatted the afternoon away.
Frenchie and Yankee cuddling in the sunshine.
Unseasonably warm weather (and then today, back to “normal” winter weather) has had us enjoying all of the outside time.
I never ever ever recover well when returning home from our spring break trip. I can typically bounce back pretty quickly after a vacation, but for whatever reason, when it comes to spring break, I’m ruined for the rest of the school year.
School lunches? Don’t want to make them.
Sign your folder? Don’t really feel like it.
Bed times? Nah.
Putting my jeans and “real” clothes back on? Nope. I want to be in a swimsuit.
Spring break makes me long for summer break. I know, I know, I will still have two whole months between the two, but please know, on the outside, I might appear to be “normal”, but on the inside, I’m screaming “SUMMER, SUMMER, SUMMER!”.
You guys, THIS IS HUGE!!!!
Disney World has released their 2025 packages early this year which means, we can now book your family’s WDW vacation through October of next year!!
Typically, Walt Disney World does not release these packages until June, so we are THRILLED to be able to help our clients plan and book their magical vacations months earlier than anticipated.
For pricing and options, please reach out to us today! We would LOVE to help you get to Disney in 2024 and 2025!
Did you catch my FEBRUARY BOOK REVIEW yesterday?!
It’s only February 28th and yet…I think I’ve probably read the two best books of the year!
Make sure you read MY REVIEW and THE COMMENT SECTION too!
Name that movie! This is always one of my “spring” movies to watch while I work. I just love everything about this one. Also, look at my sweet almost 12 year old Poppy sleeping her afternoon away 🙂 .
You guys, I’m getting us all ready for the warmer vacation weather. If you missed these finds earlier in the week, they’re from a variety of retailers PLUS a variety of price points. There are SO MANY GOOD THINGS HERE!!
A BLACK TANK + GAUZY SHORTS (also in black) + A HAT + AND SANDALS= THE PERFECT COVER UP OUTFIT!
I love me A HAT for time in the sun!
I love A VISOR style too!
I also found…
…THESE SUPER CUTE BOARD SHORTS too!
I first bought THIS ROMPER COVERUP in white and loved it so much that I ordered it again in orange 🙂 .
Speaking of rompers…
…I thought THIS ONE was perfect for pool days too!
I feel like CROCHET COVERUPS are all the rage these days, but I didn’t want to spend a lot on a trend…which is why I thought this one was the perfect option.
And here’s another CROCHET COVERUP option that also comes in a variety of colors. See what I am carrying with it?! It’s my all time very favorite BEACH BAG!!
Plus, don’t forget…
…my #1 FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT this year is another great find (it comes in a great bright pink color now too as well as other color options!)!
I am still loving my “dupe” pieces from Amazon (athleticwear that doesn’t break the bank!) like MY LEGGINGS + MY TANK + UGG DUPES!
I have worn THIS JACKET over and over and over again! It’s a “dupe” as well and comes in so many fun colors!
I clearly love THESE SHORTS! I now have them in THREE COLORS!
It’s time for our school’s annual “family dance”. These two kindergarten cuties (Erika, look at them!!!) are attending their last one this weekend. You guys, they’re in FIFTH GRADE! We are going to dance and then have dinner with our besties 🙂 .
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this yet or not, but we have spring break next month, and I’m a little excited about it.
Happy happy happy Wednesday, friends!
We get a bonus day of February tomorrow, so I hope you come back for more fun!
If you blogged WUW too, please link up below.
Have the BEST February 28th! xx

I feel you on the time between spring break and summer break. I am a teacher and those 2 months are the most exhausting. Bring on summer!

Hi Shay! Can you share where the black top is from, in the picture with the yellow shorts? I’m on the hunt for some tees/tanks in that fabric. The only versions I have been able to find that I like are from Free Fly, but would love some other options. And I have the shorts too, I agree, they are amazing! Thanks!

I remember you saying you want to watch your cholesterol in a previous post. How do you do that? Do you mostly rely on exercise to keep it in check, or are there foods you avoid?
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t watch my cholesterol (outside of my twice a year bloodwork confirming that I’m keeping it in check), I think I was just listing a bunch of examples of ways some of us are trying to better ourselves in 2024 and used that as one of the ways (but not specific to me).

Are the pajamas true to size?
Mix and Match Mama says
yes!

I love the “if you know you know” moment!! So SWEEEEET! And I remember that!

Under the Tuscan Sun – one of my all-time favorite movies, ever. I will get to Tuscany one day. 🙂
Love your blog! I read it daily (for years and years) and love the reels/videos on Facebook. You have a precious family too.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh goodness, thank YOU, thank YOU, thank YOU! I am so blessed by this.

AWWWW!!! Those tiny babies are growing up!

Shay, every time I see the try on shots in your office, I’ve been meaning to ask where you got your beautiful flat weave rug. I love it! It looks low maintenance and I have dogs, too! Would you mind sharing?
Thank you,
Maile (Miley)

It’s a Pottery Barn find! I really, really love their rugs. Almost every single rug in my house comes from there. I have it sourced in this blog post: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2021/03/the-mix-and-match-mama-office/
Heather S says
Do you know when we’ll be able to book a WDW vacation for Thanksgiving 2025?
Mix and Match Mama says
We anticipate those dates being released early June.
Joanne says
I used to be the same way after our February vacations to Florida/Disney and coming home to snow.. I’d be in the house wearing flip flops insisting spring had to be near and not wanting to deal at all with normal life.
Mix and Match Mama says
“Reentry” can be so hard sometimes!

For your next CFA salad order – try the grilled chicken filet hot(temp)! I used to always get the grilled nuggets and then one day my order was wrong and my salad had the grilled filet on it. The best mistake EVER!
