Happy Monday, friends!
Well, it’s been TWO YEARS since I’ve shared a home remodel post for our house here on Nantucket, but I have a brand new one for today 🙂 .
Just to recap (because it’s been a bit!)…
We bought our home in 2022 and spent that year renovating *most* of the inside…

…you can see all of the BEFORE…

…and AFTER pics of the living area in THIS POST.
You can see…

…all of the BEFORE…

…and AFTER kitchen pics IN THIS POST.
You can see…

…how we added space and closed in the loft to create…

…a bunk room in THIS POST.
You can see…

…the primary bedroom BEFORE…

…and AFTER pics in THIS POST.
And…

…you can see the guest bedroom BEFORE…

…and AFTER pics in THIS POST.
Fun little tidbit, this last week when I was in town with my parents, my mom and I were in a store and I noticed my dad was having a conversation with a woman out front. They both came in because my dad wanted to introduce me to the VERY sweet lady who had owned this house the 25 years prior to us. I was so so happy to meet her! She could not have been more kind. She has many friends in our neighborhood and visits often, and she told me how happy it made her that a family had moved in and really loved her special place. It was so sweet to hug her and let her know how much we have loved making memories in this home too. Such a special moment. Only my dad could talk to enough strangers on the street that he locates the woman who I bought this house from. Hahaha!
Okay, so back to today’s post 🙂 .
We knew right away when we bought our house in 2022 that we also wanted to rip out and remodel both of the bathrooms. We planned, budgeted and saved and this last September, we began. Please forgive me in advance for the terrible “before” pics. I actually forgot to take them (sigh), so what you see below are screenshots off of videos that Andrew made about the remodel. They aren’t great, but you’ll get the point.
Per usual, I have a TON of photos from each bathroom with the sources listed at the bottom.
First up, the downstairs bathroom…

I know, I know…these are terrible “before” pics…but here you go…

That’s the “before”.
Now welcome to the…

…after 🙂 .
Come in in the downstairs bathroom…

We are SO SO pleased!
We also remodeled the upstairs bathroom.
Here are some before pics…

And now, come on upstairs inside and here are some…

…after pics 🙂 .

And we are SO THRILLED with this one too!
Thank you for coming by to take a peek.
Here are some sources for you today:
Our contractor: the Carey Company
All white paint (walls, trim, etc): Sherwin Williams High Reflective White
The counter tops are “cashmere carrara” quartz made by MSI
Don’t forget, if you missed the blogs posts where I shared other spaces here in our home, make sure you go back and visit. So far, I’ve shared OUR FAMILY ROOM, OUR KITCHEN, OUR BUNK ROOM, OUR PRIMARY BEDROOM, and OUR GUEST BEDROOM.
That’s it for this Monday! I hope you guys have a WONDERFUL start to your week! I’ll see tomorrow 🙂 .

Debbie Hibbert says
Both are beautiful transformations. I love the blue and white tile you chose, and the upstairs vanity is so different and so pretty. I’d say it was worth the wait!
Mary Brown says
Beautiful renovation! Love all the white! Do you use a housekeeper in the summer months?
Mix and Match Mama says
We do! They come once a week.
Janice says
Beautiful!
Francesca says
Was the little vertical closet/cabinet in the downstairs bathroom already exist there? What a nice space for storage! Is it just shelves inside? Soo pretty and functional!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, that little closet was already there. 🙂
Amy Heinl says
The b bathrooms turned out gorgeous. You did a beautiful job
Marianne says
Oh these are to die for! I love every single thing- esp the tile! Thank you for sharing!
Katie Stewart says
That tile is everything!!!!!
Beautiful renovations! 😍
Dustie Day says
Oh Shay, just beautiful. Do you have a link for the light on your downstairs sink?
Mix and Match Mama says
I have it linked below. It’s the larger option turned sideways 🙂 .
Evelyn G says
Wow! The end result is amazing. Everything looks good and cohesive.
Nancy Granger says
I love how you used blue and white tiles in both bathrooms. Blue and white, always right!
Elspeth Mizner says
I love the cohesiveness between both bathrooms with the tile! Do you and Andrew use one and the kids use another?

Mix and Match Mama says
We have unofficially made the downstairs bathroom for Andrew, Kensington and Smith and the upstairs one for Ashby, Mades and me. It kind of just morphed into that.
Jami Romano says
Stunning! Both of them ◡̈ obsessed with the tile in both & upstairs vanity! Crushed the designs!
Mare says
Absolutely beautiful!
Sarah Shaneyfelt says
I love these renovations!! The vanity upstairs is gorgeous! I know you didn’t increase any square footage, but the bathrooms just look bigger now. Does your mom ever help you pick out things for your house or do you do it all yourself?
MeetTheShaneyfelts
Mix and Match Mama says
My mom is ALWAYS so helpful when I ask! For the Nantucket house, she helped me find the tile on the walls in the downstairs shower and then she lovingly looked at all of my inspo pics.
Grace says
I was curious about that as well if your mom helps with the interior design. I love the gold fixtures with the blue tile. It looks great!
Ann says
Love the tile!
Linda says
Love the remodels! Do you have a link for the small lamp in the upstairs bathroom?
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought that a few years ago (I *think*, I’m almost positive) at the Home Depot-like store here on Nantucket.
Samantha Harris says
Absolutely stunning!
Denise says
Beautiful! I love the blue tile. Both bathrooms look so bright. Thanks for sharing.
Emi says
How do you keep your glass shower doors so clean?? I’ve tried everything. Also the flooring in the upstairs bathroom looks like it would feel so good on your feet! 😊
Mix and Match Mama says
I LOVE a textured shower floor for that exact reason 🙂 . My mom always taught me that if you squeegee after every use, it stays streak free. Do my kids squeegee? Never. But I think Andrew and I both doing it several times a day helps tremendously. We keep squeegees on the shower floors here on Nantucket and in McKinney too.
Katie says
We squeegee too! It really does help! Love the bathrooms!
Patty Anderson says
Sigh…even using a squeegee doesn’t seem to help much (with or without shower spray). Ours always show streaks
Carrie Martens says
Gorgeous! Simply gorgeous!
Mandie says
Simply beautiful! Love all of the blue!
Paula Hobbs says
The bathrooms are perfect, Shay!!! I love them both and I know you and your family do too!!! Thank you for sharing!! It’s always so exciting to see these posts!!
Angela says
Thanks for sharing!!! Love the remodel of your beautiful bathrooms!! Do you have a master bath? Or is your Nantucket home only a two bathroom home, besides your outdoor shower? Would love tips on how you organize all of the girls and Smith’s toiletries, cologne/perfume, etc…
Mix and Match Mama says
We just have the two bathrooms here. It’s organized chaos. Andrew and I still swear by our “bathroom bags” because it keeps everything neat and tidy and lets us move from one bathroom to the other (or the outdoor shower). My little two keep their things in the upstairs bathroom and the big two keep their things downstairs. You would be horrified by their “organization”. You can see the bathroom bag post here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2023/06/my-bathroom-bag/
Katrina Goodman says
They look amazing!!!
Sue Jones says
Wow! I love how the remodels turned out! So beautiful!
Melissa Terry says
That blue and white tile is beautiful! Enjoy this lovely new space
Kelli says
They’re gorgeous!!! I was hoping you’d share them this summer 🙂
Laci L Murray says
You can never go wrong with blue and white! LOVE the tile.
Lisa D says
Love the MSI quartz countertops! You have beautiful fresh bathrooms! So pretty
Stacy Ostermiller says
Beautiful! Love how you coordinated the tile! Where is that tiny white lamp on the counter from?
Laura C says
Love, love all of it!!!! I know you mentioned that you squeegee often but how do you clean the shower walls and floor with a fixed shower head? I am running into that issue and would love your input!
Also, I could use a prayer this morning for a breast biopsy. Thank you.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Laura, I’m stopping to pray right now. Please please keep me posted. We use just a basic shower cleaner (nothing fancy) for the walls and hardware.
Elizabeth says
Oh my goodness absolutely beautiful! I love the touch of blue in both!
Jill L says
Your bathrooms are so beautiful. And the blue tile is gorgeous!
Melissa Hildreth says
It’s all so pretty! May I ask…..where did you purchase the light/lamp to the left of the mirror, in your downstairs’ bathroom? It has such a beautiful glow! Thank you.
Mix and Match Mama says
We bought it at Nantucket Looms on Nantucket 🙂 .
Pamela Brightman says
Melissa, There is something similar on west elm. I think the one on west elm is bigger (and ribbed), but has a nice glow like this one.
Melissa Hildreth says
Thank you!
K.K. says
I love them! The blue just makes me so happy!!! 🙂
Karah Stracener says
Gorgeous bathroom remodel. I love all the blue and white tile. Both bathrooms looks so light and bright now. Thanks for sharing.
Laura Holmes says
They look amazing! Love the tiles and the light in the downstairs bath. The house looks great! I’m sure the previous owner would just love what you’ve done and all the love you’ve poured into it!
Kristy C says
Love the blue tile! Looks so nice!!
Annie O says
I love the upstairs light fixtures, the carrera counters, the white pebble shower floor and the one level bar counter!
Rebecca @ everypiecefits.com says
All so beautiful! It’s the perfect hint of nautical for Nantucket and timeless. What is the floor tile in the upstairs bathroom? I’m currently on the hunt for floor tile to potential renovate my guest bathroom. =)
Mix and Match Mama says
I could not find the source for that, but it’s really just a basic white tile.
Suzanne Douglass says
It is absolutely stunning! I love how it complements and goes along with the rest of the colors in the house.
Lauren says
Shay I love love love everything! (So does Brian-he’s sitting right beside me!) LMK how you like in the downstairs bathroom the floor tile that goes directly into the shower without a lip. I LOVE how that looks and want to know about it’s functionality. Does the bathroom floor get super wet? Yay! Love everything! Also, come home.
Mix and Match Mama says
Awww, thank you both! The floor doesn’t get wet at all! They dug it at a slight angle so that all the water runs down into the drain that’s against the far wall.
Sheaffer says
SHAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! THAT TILE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe I’m just now seeing these pictures. Everything is amazing!
Mary Kate says
Beautiful! May I ask where you got the art with the Golden Retriever to the left of the sink in the downstairs bathroom? I’m a sucker for dog art!!
Mix and Match Mama says
From a store on Nantucket called Centre Pointe 🙂 .
Amy T says
Beautiful, love the blue tile!
Alison says
I love how you tied both designs together with the tile and gold fixtures. The transformation is beautiful! I’m sure it felt so good to have them completed for your use this summer!
Heather G says
Love the facelift with the bathroom remodels. SO fresh and so clean looking!
Marie C says
I’m actually dying to know about the lamp (candle?) that is sitting on the downstairs sink! It’s beautiful and I would love to get one. Would you share a link for it?
Mix and Match Mama says
We bought that at Nantucket Looms!
Marie C says
Thanks!
Sara says
Looks great! We just had the same tile (upstairs wall tile) put in our son’s new bathroom and we love it! I’m a sucker for blues. 🙂
Leslie Wilcox says
Stunning transformations! Love the bidet seat, I need one. 🙂
StephC says
They are both gorgeous. I love blue and white – it looks so clean. I am curious if the vanity upstairs actually has working drawers. Very unique design =)
Kelli Patterson says
Absolutely stunning- thanks for sharing!
Jill says
I love how you coordinated the two bathrooms with the same color scheme. They are lovely and look very coastal.
Stephanie Platt says
Beautiful transformations of both bathrooms 💕
Erika Slaughter says
The bathrooms look AMAZING!!! Love the blue/white!
Jenny N says
Both bathrooms are stunning! The floor in the downstairs bathroom is gorgeous!!
If you ever decide to retire from your travel agency you need to become an interior designer!
Alyssa J says
Simply stunning! Thank you for posting the before and after shots.
Carole says
I noticed your downstairs bath doesn’t have a “step over” to get in the shower. How well does water stay in?
Mix and Match Mama says
The floor is tilted slightly and the drain is along that far wall, so all the water runs towards it and not out on to the floor.
Bren says
I had wondered about this also as I’m contemplating a similar type shower. Thanks for the info!
Beautiful bathrooms! Just love the blue and white!
Love the story about your dad! How wonderful for you to meet her and for her to meet you and get to know of all the wonderful memories you are making there. Have a wonderful week ahead, Shay!
Patty Anderson says
Love the renos! You always do such a beautiful job when renovating. Only thing I would have added is a lower niche in the showers for a foot rest when shaving legs. Best thing we ever did!
Erin says
Gorgeous remodels!
Lisa Gulledge says
Love both bathrooms – either tile choices! That blue and white one makes me so happy!
Meggie Knapp says
Love your remodels! Of the whole house!! Such a beautiful space to spend summers and other special times throughout the year!
Marisa Patel says
Everything is so gorgeous!
Amy Williams says
Wow- so, so pretty… well done!
Dana J says
The bathrooms turned out so beautiful!! Love love love!!
Holly C says
Love, love, love the color schemes for the bathroom!!!
Jeanette says
WOW!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!
Kristy says
Beautiful bathrooms! I read a comment about glass shower doors staying clean. We use Norwex to clean, once a week and it keeps them from getting grimy. Not everyday streak free though!
Heather says
I love both transformations so much!! Thank you for sharing with us!!
Vesta Surles says
Both bathrooms are beautiful! I love that the floor in the downstairs bathroom just flows into the shower. Bookmarking that for our future bathroom reno.
Cindy says
Oh Shay it is just beautiful. What you have done… the vision to to make this happen. Yes. So happy for you and the time spending under one roof with those beautiful children and pups! Thank you for sharing. I love dogs so much. You mentioned your camera roll…. I too take so many of our dog. Just love him. Take care!
Kasey says
The bathrooms are gorgeous! Love that tile and how clean and fresh everything looks with the color scheme!
Mindy says
Beautiful renovations!! Thank you for sharing!
Any way you could do a post about how you all transition back into McKinney life, leaving Nantucket after a fun-filled summer!? And also a post about how Andrew does work-life balance while on Nantucket!
Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
Of course!
Anne says
So lovely and classic! What is the black thing next to the TP on the side of the vanity?
Mix and Match Mama says
It operates the bidet.
Kara says
They are stunning! Have you refreshed the outdoor shower as well?
Well done!
Mix and Match Mama says
We have not tackled that one yet.
Becky Carl says
Your home is so pretty and classic Nantucket. I really really have to give a big shout out to that Bidet. The best thing I ever discovered in Japan and came straight home and ordered one. Funny story, we had it installed in our cabin in North Alabama. Those good ole boy plumbers had never seen one nor installed one. I had such a good time describing it to them and one of them spoke up “dang, all it’s missing is a poof of monkey butt powder.” I fell out laughing!!
Rhoda Watson says
Love all of your choices!!!
Cris says
So, so pretty! Coming as news to no one: your Dad is the best!
Debbie. Campbell says
Love the bathrooms! Especially love the tile it is timeless! Job well done👏👏👏
Robyn says
I have never been to Nantucket – it is SO high on my bucket list, but your home just screams to me what I would expect to see while visiting. Thank you for sharing.
Kathleen says
You have the best taste! I LOVE that second vanity! And the tile choice is perfection!!
