Here are a few bonus things to wrap up our week starting with…
I’ve shared this before, but I have always been absolutely smitten with Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks. I just love the storytelling that goes with each book. They’re just wholesome, sweet cookbooks that always make me smile. I basically read them like a novel.
I have so many of them, but recently, I found this one online…
…and I bought it used for about $8. You guys, it makes me so happy. Do you see how the binding is all broken? The pages are worn and well loved and I just think about who else had this book with them in their kitchen. It just makes me happy, happy every time I open it. There is something extra sweet about an old cookbook.
Well this is random, but…
…welcome to the Nantucket Memorial Airport 🙂 .
Did you guys ever watch Wings in the ’90s? Growing up, my family used to LOVE Wings and now, we watch season 1-4 on demand (for the life of us, we cannot find seasons 5+ on demand). My parents even have the boxed DVD set of the entire series.
I have been to this airport a million times, and I always, always, always think about that show.
This is the diner inside the airport, and it’s one of the few restaurants open year around. Not only is it yummy, but inside, they have photos and signed autographs from the cast of Wings. If you ever want home cooking on Nantucket, they serve it up here. You do not have to be flying to enjoy it…in fact, I would say most of the year, those inside are just to eat and not to travel.
I get asked often why people (like myself) refer to Nantucket as ACK…it’s the airport code 🙂 .
If you’re there mid-June through Labor Day, it can get busy…but during the off season, it’s pretty darn peaceful.
I get so excited when our clients start traveling over the summer. We create epic vacation experience year around, but there is always something extra sweet about summer trips.

We love, love, love our days on that little island.
Ashby and Mades have biked, been in to town more times than I can count, swam with friends at the pool, played pickleball, gone to the beach, and Smith has been on his bike, played golf, worked, and fished the last three days in a row.
We are big fans of anything we can do outside 🙂 .

Happy Saturday, Shay! Oh how I enjoy seeing your family enjoying their best summer lives! So many things to comment on.
I have so many lovely memories of looking at the latest Gooseberry Patch cookbook to be released way back when my friends and I would visit a sweet little tearoom together, that always had them for sale. Those visits are some of my favorite memories of my friend group and thank you for helping that memory reappear today! I just ran to get my one out – “Backyard Gatherings”. Just looking at the binding, the font, the colors! It all brings back so many memories!
Wings! My husband and I loved Wings! I am a very faithful listener of all things “Office Ladies” podcast and whenever Jenna and Angela talk about “Must See TV” on Thursday nights on NBC, my mind always jumps to Cheers and Wings!

That is the one I always show. Maybe you’re thinking about the Boston airport?? This is the only airport on Nantucket.

I had not thought about Wings in years, but it was such a good show! Thanks for the reminder! How fun that you get to experience it in person. Nantucket looks like such a great spot to spend a Summer and I read so many books with it as the setting. I really need to visit someday! My favorite thing about the Gooseberry Patch recipe books were all the illustrations. They were such a fun part of the experience.

Just ordered that dress as I trust your recommendations….wearing that sports bra today and i love the hat that I got because of you too! The brim does not bend in the wind and it packs like a dream. Also, those rechargeable hand warmers from your winter trip were a life saver on the ski slopes waiting for my 4 year old granddaughter going up and down the bunny slope.
I’ve had my own Lands End totes for years and love them. Have you tried their swim suits? I get the same one every year so my tan line stays the same!

My oldest daughter and I went to an antique depot on Thursday and saw so many neat cookbooks. I loved perusing the pages and reading notes people left about the recipes.

After seeing all your posts on Nantucket we are going to Cape Cod in July and would like to spend a night on Nantucket . Any recommendations for me and my 17 yr old daughter ? Places to stay , eat , and of course shop!

Oh so fun!! You will have the best time! So many of the accommodations have a three-night minimum during July and August. If you can get a room at The Nantucket Hotel or Faraway, those would be two great choices.

Loving the start of the Nantucket posts! They have me reminiscing about when I ran into you and your family on my bachelorette trip to Nantucket in 2021- I think that was before you bought your house there! My husband and I will be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary this September (and 15 years together— we met as 18 year old college freshmen!). Plus, we’ll be welcoming our first baby in October :). My husband has still never been to Nantucket- I’m dreaming of planning a trip for what will be the THREE of us next summer!!

I’m so excited about these posts being back and hearing all the fun from your summer! I was a few days behind so I’m catching up your posts and imagine my surprise to see my sweet family from our spring break trip on your blog. It was truly the best trip…my kids talk about it non-stop. Many people (including my own mother) told me they were too young and we should wait rather than chase small kids/toddlers around a resort…but I forged ahead anyway and let me tell you my kids LOVED IT! We are already talking to Clare about an anniversary trip next summer and my 7 year old is already planning his next spring break trip lol. I can confidently say that without your influence and encouragement through your posts of traveling with young children I would’ve been far too intimidated to try it, but I think about the memories we made from just one trip and I’m so glad we did it and I’m already looking forward to our next one. Thank you for sharing your life and family with us!
