I’ve mentioned this before, but McKinney is famous for the hot air balloons that fly over quite frequently. Some days, you even see multiple in the sky at once.
Last week, I set out to walk the dog and saw this one…
…right at the end of my street. I have probably seen hundreds of hot air balloons in the 20 years I’ve lived in McKinney, and they bring me joy EVERY SINGLE TIME! Would you ever go up in one? I would not, but I certainly love to see them!

Every morning, I go out and water whatever plants I happen to have on my balcony. Over the years, I have purchased the world’s least expensive watering tins because…it’s just a watering tin. I’ll buy a plastic one that is super cheap, use it a bit and then when it starts to leak all over the place and/or break, I’ll replace it. And repeat. I have always wanted a Haw’s watering tin from England and finally, in August, after replacing my crappy one for the millionth time, I ordered one…
They’re pretty hard to find (they’re always out of stock), but I found one on Williams-Sonoma’s site. It took six weeks to arrive, but it came this week, and I am so in love!
I bought the “Haws Green” color because if I was going to do it, I wanted to do it right. You just have no idea how happy one watering tin has made me each day. If you are an outside person like me and use a watering tin each day, look up Haws. They’re really quite special.
I have been watching A LOT of tumbling…
…Mades has been working on her own tumbling skills and the two of us have spent a lot of time together in the gym. She started taking tumbling lessons in March and even took them each week on Nantucket too.
She’s been living her life upside down 😉 .
On Sunday, all of her worlds collided and after church, she had back to back lessons. She worked so hard and when she got home, she asked if she could reward herself by…
…jumping in the pool to cool down with her clothes on. Who am I to deny such fun? 😉
