This holiday is not about food. I know I say this every year, but it certainly bears repeating, I am forever grateful to the men and women in our military (and their families) for their service. Some of the people you love dearly, gave the ultimate sacrifice, and truly, there just aren’t words to describe my gratitude.
I know like us, many of you will get together with friends and family this weekend to honor those who have fallen and remember and pay tribute to them and their families. Today, I have some patriotic recipes for you to make, take and share are you stop and recognize Memorial Day.
This is a menu designed for a family gathering of four, but it can easily be multiplied and serve a large party (or if you’re going to a pot luck, just take what you need from this list!).
Sending everyone so much love today and this weekend as we remember.
Start your weekend with my Blueberry French Toast Casserole.

…once you try these BBQ Green Beans you won’t go back to boring old regular ones. The best part about this version is that the beans cook in the slow cooker…one less thing to mess with during the party.
My mother-in-law’s Pepperoni & Bell Pepper Pasta Salad is one of our favorite sides to serve with food off the grill (it’s also one of our favorite lunches and light suppers too!).
Speaking of pasta salads, my Tortellini Pasta Salad is another great side dish too!
My Savory Watermelon Salad is the perfect side to any summer gathering.
You could also try my…
…Crispy Prosciutto and Melon Salad! This is INSANELY delicious!
And for the main course? You have to do something on the grill, right?
Here are some of my favorite grilled entrees…
You can make up our Classic Cheeseburger for dinner or…
…our Honey Chipotle Chicken!
My Pineapple Teriyaki Salmon is so good this time of year or…
…my Chipotle Chicken Fajita Tacos!
And something sweet to finish things off (that’s festive too!)…
…my Red, White and Blue Trifle. I love that you make this in advance…that way on party day, you just pop it out of the fridge and serve.
My Strawberry & Blueberry Slab Pie feeds a crowd! Plus, it’s so easy to prepare!
If you’ve never used my method to make a cheesecake before, it’s SO simple!!! This cheesecake will be a showstopper yet not a whole lot of work AT ALL to create!
