Happy Wednesday, friends!
If you’re lookin’ for me this time of year, you’re likely to find me at one of my happy places like Hobby Lobby or Trader Joe’s 🙂 .
On my most recent trip to one of my favorite grocery stores, I found a few new September goodies you might like to try including several bonus gluten-free finds. If you’re a g-free family too, you understand the pure giddiness that comes from a new gluten-free find.
Grab your coffee and settle in. A lot of deliciousness lies below…
As I was shopping I found a few items that were new and looked amazing but didn’t make it into my cart like this Italian Tomato & Burrata Ravioloni. I LOVE tomatoes and burrata, and I love Trader Joe’s raviolis and tortellini’s, so I imagine this one is super delish.
Speaking of delish…
…this granola was calling my name too!
Another find that I really wanted to put in my cart…
…these Apple & Pumpkin Hand Pies! You guys! I so wish they made these gluten-free! I love pie. I love, love, love pie. And well, you know how I feel about apples and pumpkin too.
Speaking of which…
…it’s officially Apple Cider Donuts time at Trader Joe’s! These are such an easy and delicious breakfast treat. They always remind me of living in Michigan and visiting the cider mills. Andrew and I LOVED going to the cider mills for cider and donuts.
And yes…Pumpkin Cheesecake 🙂 .
One more little in-store find to show you…
…there was a big display of this Tiny Fruity Cuties Cereal should your family need to try a new variety in the mornings.
Here’s what I went home with though (other than the “usual” things)…
YES, YES, YES! I bought two bags!!! I LOVE BREAKFAST SAUSAGE! This is really, really good! I hope they don’t make it a seasonal item because I’ll buy it year around.
I’m always looking for easy lunch ideas, so this time, I purchased this salmon to put in my air fryer and add to salads. Easy!
I know I’ve shared this Spicy Mexican-Style Riced Cauliflower before, but it’s worth sharing again. I love to use this as a base for my TACO RICE BOWLS!
YOU GUYS!!! Egg Bites!! Pop these in the microwave (they have two different flavors), and it’s basically like being at Starbucks. I love protein for breakfast in the morning. This find made me super excited!
Ashby was super excited about the new Mango Blueberry Chia Bowls for breakfast. They’re sold individually in the breakfast frozen food section.
This right here though was my greatest find this last trip to Trader Joe’s…
…YES, YES, YES! This was a mic drop moment for the Shull family! I asked my store if this Gluten-Free Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough would be a seasonal item or year around and they *thought* that this was one that will stay all year. I hope so!
I typically get my cod from my “normal” grocery store, but this time, I picked it up frozen from Trader Joe’s. Again, easy lunch or quick supper idea. Speaking of easy lunches…
…I enjoyed these Southwest Style Chicken Wraps for lunch this week! I had mine with a few…
…Cacio de Pepe Puffs. They’re light and super flavorful peppery cheese bites. Yum!
Gluten-free Pecan Praline Granola? Yes, please!
Have you guys ever used Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free All Purpose Flour? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before, so it might be brand new. We almost exclusively use Gluten-Free Namaste All Purpose Flour, but I picked up a bag to try. If you’ve had great luck with it, I’d love to know!
We love adding a fun variety of nuts to our charcuterie boards, so I picked up this Olive & Herbs Mixed Nuts Mix too!
GF Rolled Oats with Ancient Grains and Seeds?! Add to cart!
I had been buying their Organic Roasted Seaweed individually, but this time, they had them in snack packs. Ashby takes one to school every single day!
This Trader Joe’s Dry Shampoo was less than $5, and the perfect size for traveling.
And thank goodness it’s B-A-C-K…
…If I ever meet Trader Joe himself, the first question that I’m going to ask him is why he decided to make their amazing pepper jelly seasonal after YEARS of having it in store year around. This is THE BEST PEPPER JELLY you will buy, and we use it in a variety of recipes along with charcuterie boards too. I clearly stocked up…
…and bought 8 jars 🙂 . Other than your charcuterie board, you can use it in my BREAKFAST SANDWICHES, HAM & CHEESE PINWHEELS, BURGERS, GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES, and THE MOST DELICIOUS DIP!!
So, that wraps up my SEPTEMBER TRADER JOE’S HAUL (with a few bonus gluten-free finds!).
Don’t forget…
…if you want to read about Kensington’s journey with Celiac disease and how we found out she had it/how she was properly diagnosed/and all the other details, read THIS POST HERE. You guys, it was FOUR YEARS AGO THIS WEEK! I remember everything so clearly from that time. Once we received the diagnosis (after a biopsy), I was very over-whelmed with how life would progress moving forward. If you’re at the beginning of this journey, please know that you are not alone. I was VERY overwhelmed with the information and the resources. Now, four years later, I feel much more in control of the situation and what was once so foreign to our family has now, pretty seamlessly, become “normal”. Hang in there! I promise you, the beginning is the hardest part.
You can also check out…
…our TRADER JOE’S GLUTEN-FREE FAVES post too!
What are you most excited about buying this fall at Trader Joe’s? I would love to know! Please comment and share!
Have the best Wednesday! xx

If you’re looking for a good gluten free bagel, cider donut, cinnamon bun, etc check out Modern bread & bagel out of NYC. They ship nationwide with overnight shipping and we buy from them all the time. Their bakery is 100% gluten free and my husband swears by their bagels. We also always get their cinnamon buns shipped to us for holidays. Shipping is pricey but worth it in my opinion.
My husband is GF and I had the hardest time finding a good bagel for him. Then I said to myself if any bakery is going to do a good GF it’s a NYC bakery!
I love getting GF suggestions so just wanted to pass this along. ☺️
Mix and Match Mama says
Really?! I’m looking them up right now! THANK YOU!!!
Patrice Stagliano says
Yes!! Modern Bread and Bagel is a must! I believe they also ship their bagels. I most recently discovered “Baked By Melissa” (from NYC) ships GF cupcakes. I think it makes for a sweet birthday gift for anyone with Celiac. We also discovered in the bakery aisle at our TJ’s two GF cookie options that are insanely good. Our favorite is the oatmeal with coconut but chocolate chip is always a winner. The packages have 3 large cookies and and they freeze really nice.
Thanks!
Patrice

You had me at peanut butter and chocolate granola! YUMMMMM!!

The pepper jelly looks so good! I’ll definitely have to try that! Thanks for sharing!

Love all of this!! What is your current fitness weekly routine? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s still the same! A mix of strength training, running and at least one yoga class a week!
Jennifer Goodwin says
Thank you for sharing this with us! I really want to go to TJ’s sometime this week. It’s not super convenient to where I live, so I rarely get by there. I have to confess, seeing that picture of K made me gasp. I can’t believe so much time has gone by since then, but thank the Lord she’s okay and you have a handle on this now. I know that had to have been terrifying for all of you! I’m so glad she’s doing so great now, and that’s gotten used to this way of life.
Have a great day!
Kathy says
I’ve been waiting for them to get their pumpkin cream cheese in…
Mix and Match Mama says
Me and you both.

I have a child with a peanut allergy and one with a tree nut allergy, it’s been 16 plus years but I remember that overwhelming feeling like it was yesterday. It does become second nature after awhile.
Ashley Lefler says
That TJ gf flour is a real winner! You can use 1:1 in recipes calling for traditional flour, and the taste and consistency is the best I’ve found. My kids were super picky w/ anything grainy or mealy so this was a blessing to find. The only down side is the bag is so small.
CindyG says
I love TJ’s and Aldi’s. Have you ever bought the Egg Wraps? I have started using them in my lasagna to replace the noodles. The first time I did it, my family did not even notice it until I told them the “noodles” were egg wraps. I did it for no carbs, but they’re also good for people that need GF. It is the best substitute.
Mix and Match Mama says
I have! What a great idea for gf lasagna!
Sheaffer says
I love those olive and herb nuts, and I’m for sure going to try the burrata ravioli!
Kay says
I’m actually most excited to try the chocolate croissant candle this fall at TJ! I haven’t seen it yet, and I feel like it could be amazing…or a disaster? But I’m super excited to try.
Mix and Match Mama says
I feel like chocolate could go either way. I’ll need to try it too!
Jennifer Sickle says
Hi, just curious-I see you said Kensington was diagnosed with a biopsy. So, it didn’t show up with the normal blood testing?
Mix and Match Mama says
We’ve been told that blood work is great (which she did!), but the only way to truly diagnose it is a biopsy. Those results are much more accurate and conclusive.

Shay,
Our center kiddo works at a farm where apple season has started… hopefully soon pressing their own cider, but they make donuts. Guess who gets leftover donuts. They started their fall flavors! Last week kiddo had to come home and brought home donuts just out. So yummy… We love fall.
Oh kiddo picked golden raspberries and we made Jam!
Anya Knudson says
Thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to share gluten-free finds and how your family has navigated a celiac diagnosis! As someone recently diagnosed earlier this spring – I have referenced many of your posts to help keep me healthy while making easy, delicious meals for my family. Thank you so much! Would love a ‘Tuesday Tour’ of your current day-to-day gluten-free go-to’s. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Great idea, Anya! I am so happy to be of any help here in this g-free space. xx
Lori Whittington says
I have tried the Trader Joes GF flour and it is just OK. I used up what I had but don’t think I would buy it again. I felt like it really changed the texture. I did find in my TJ that they have Joe Joe’s Cookies and Cream granola GF. It was REALLY good!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it, Lori!
kelly says
I just tried the chicken breast in pesto sauce. Grilled it up and seriously it was the best!
Lee Ann says
The fettuccini noodles are excellent in chicken noodle soup! I just chop them up first into bite size pieces.
Mix and Match Mama says
Great idea!!!
Chelsea says
I need a restock on Pepper Jelly too – so sad it’s a seasonal item now. Can’t wait to go soon and find some fall goodies! Tis the season 🙂
Ramona Puckett says
Love Trader Joe’s in the fall! Thank you for all these suggestions, it’s about a hour and a half drive from me now. So, I have a list! ❤️
Jenny N says
I get the spinach egg bites all the time. They are such a great, quick breakfast when I am running out the door to work and don’t have time to make something before I leave.
Cris says
I just went back and read Kensington’s story, and I’m so glad that she’s feeling better! I’m wondering if your family eating this way has cleared up your husband’s digestive issues? Thank you for sharing things like this!
Mix and Match Mama says
It has not. His appears autoimmune as well but still undiagnosed.
Cris says
Well, I’m praying for him right now!
Alexa says
Sweet Loren’s is another brand that makes several gluten free cookie dough flavors and are also dairy and egg free! Great for class parties- they are sold at Kroger and a few other stores in my area
Diane B says
Love these AND I Just found Sweet Loren’s GF pumpkin flavor cookies at Target! 🎯 🎃🍪
Beth Valenta says
Oh the pepper jelly is such a great go to for anything! I love the cinnamon brooms and there is an apple sparkling prosecco that I buy a ton of for guests coming over. It is under $10 and not too sweet .
Emilee says
I’m heading to TJ’s on Friday and can’t wait for all the fall goodies. If it has the word “pumpkin” on it – it’s going in my cart! 😂
Jennifer Henke says
I don’t get to shop TJ very often due to where I live. But do you know if their TJ brand is certified GF? I’ve always wondered as their labeling doesn’t state that. Just worried about cross-contamination.
Mix and Match Mama says
Two things, one, we’ve never had an adverse reaction to any of their gluten-free labeled items. The second thing is that when you shop there, you should ask each time for the updated g-free items list. They will happily share it with you and answer any questions or concerns that you have!
Kristin S says
How I love this dry shampoo. I love that it isn’t aerosol.
Robin says
I live over an hour away from the nearest Trader Joe’s and usually only get there a few times a year. I literally pouted all the way home last winter when I discovered that their pepper jelly was now considered seasonal. I will join in the protest to Joe that it needs to be brought back year round. (WE MARCH AT DAWN!…ok maybe 10ish, I’m retired and like to sleep later). I definitely will be stocking up soon. I especially like to use it on the inside of a grilled cheese sandwich…made with a ciabatta roll, some smoked cheddar, grilled onions, and garlic butter, YUM!
Lori says
Stay away from farm-raised fish. Google it. It’s nasty! Always buy wild caught!!!
Margarita Owsley says
Have you tried the Chili Onion Crunch? It’s the best! We use it on everything, but especially on eggs. My son loves it on ramen too. Did I say we use it on EVERYTHING??!? We buy multiple jars a week. 😊
Alexa says
Last year I went to three different Trader Joe’s to look for that amazing pepper jelly. I was told it became seasonal because they couldn’t keep it in stock. I think I have one jar left from my stock pile. Time to replenish!
Lindsay D says
My girls love me to make a breakfast sandwich with the chicken sausage. It heats up quickly in the air fryer. They like it with just an English muffin and slice of cheese. My husband likes it with pepper jack, egg and jalapeños.
Jen says
Oh my gosh, her little face… I remember those days and I’m so glad she is feeling so much better now!!
Mary Hogan says
Have you tried their crystallized candied ginger? I wasn’t sure about it at first, but after a few tries I’ve become ADDICTED! Such a good sweet and spicy treat!
Mix and Match Mama says
IT’S SO GOOD!!!!!! It’s such a fall/winter bite. I love it!
Megan says
They have the actual Starbucks brand egg bites at my Costco! They are amazing! You need to check for them at your store. They come 10 to a box. It’s the easiest, yummiest breakfast!
