Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s a 10 RANDOM THINGS: DECEMBER EDITION!
It’s our last week of school before Christmas break, and I don’t know about my kids, but I AM READY.
Alrighty, per usual, these 10 random things are random and, since it’s December, Christmas-y 🙂 .
Enjoy!

10 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT:
Top 10 Billboard Christmas Songs:
On the radio last week, they were discussing the BILLBOARD HOLIDAY 100, and I loved hearing the songs that made the list!
Let me know if you agree/disagree on the Top 10…
#10: It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas by Michael Buble

#2: Last Christmas by Wham!
#1: All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey
I mean, that’s a REALLY solid Top 10 in my opinion. You can see the full list HERE.
10 Random Trader Joe’s Finds:

#1: Three items in one photo 🙂 . Wouldn’t this be a really cute grouping to gift neighbors and friends?!
Speaking of “three”…

#2: You can now get Jingle Jangle THREE different ways! The traditional tin (love), individual packs (brilliant), and for dogs too.

#3 & #4: I buy this scrub and body butter every single holiday season. It smells so good and is really hydrating too. It would be a cute gift and/or stocking stuffer.

#5: Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES.

#6: This was my first time to try these, and they’re DELICIOUS!

#7: I stock up on these babies every Christmas season. A few of these with my afternoon coffee at my desk is my fave.

#8: I pull down my traditional coffee pot when we entertain, and how delicious will this be brewing on Christmas Eve/Day?!

#9: A very easy (and delicious) addition to holiday cocktails like my MERRY CHERRY MULES!

#10: To pair with that cinnamon coffee 🙂 .
10 Random Gifts I Like To Give:

I use mine every day when I sit down with my Bible and morning coffee. I have gifted these to so many over the years. They come in so many different colors too!

#2: MY PORTABLE LITTLE SPACE HEATER
It’s so lightweight, has multiple settings, and always keeps me cozy.

#3: REPLICA GIFT SET
I have shared these Replica fragrances for years and years. They are my favorite, and I love gifting this set!

#4: TRAVEL GOODIES
I have said this so many times before, but I never ever travel without my TOILETRY BAG and my MAKEUP CARRIER FOR TRAVEL. I also always use PACKING CUBES because they really, really do allow me to pack more items in my suitcase, reduce wrinkling, and keep things so organized. Whether you gift them alone or all together, they make excellent holiday presents!

#5: TARGET PAJAMAS
I love, love, love, LOVE gifting my beloved pj set! They are crazy soft, wash and dry to perfection and oh so cute.

#6: BEAUTIFUL 6-QUART AIR FRYER BY DREW BARRYMORE
I love, love my air fryer! It makes an EXCELLENT gift too!
As does…

#7: OUR BISSELL LITTLE GREEN CARPET CLEANING MACHINE
I’ve yet to meet a spill or stain this thing can’t get out. It’s a miracle worker on rugs and upholstery.

#8: COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD GIFT SETS
I love giving the gift of beauty from my favorite skincare and hair care brand. They have so many different options!

#9: VITAMIN C UNDEREYE PATCHES
I wore mine just this morning. I love these little patches, y’all.

The only pens I write with are these Flair pens (if I can help it). They are my absolute favorite, and I love gifting them with a pretty notebook or journal.
10 Random Easy Weeknight Dinners During the Christmas Season:

#1: Sheet Tray Supper: Chicken Fajita Tacos

#2: Easy Weeknight Wiener Schnitzel

There is so much in this post!
I enjoyed all the lists. You make me want to make the 35 minute trek to Trader Joe’s to buy a bunch of goodies I’ll regret eating 🤣
Your gift ideas are always much appreciated. It’s so helpful to know what your children actually enjoy and these last minute ideas are in the, “one for you, one for me,” category.
Have a good Tuesday!

I love this and I am going to need to check out those glazes at TJ’s! If you haven’t watched it already, the Beauty and the Beast Christmas special is one of our all time favorites and I couldn’t recommend it more highly… I mean who doesn’t love a Tim Curry cameo in a sweet Christmas movie?!?
Mix and Match Mama says
I ADORE Tim Curry! This isn’t one I have watched yet. Thank YOU for the rec!!
Ashley says
I know they’re not mainstream billboard, but either “Let it be Christmas” by Alan Jackson or “Hard Candy Christmas” by Dolly would replace “Santa Tell Me.” Then the list would be perfect for me.
Faith Kapp says
Speaking of random things, I’ve been meaning to ask you about skin care for the men in your life. I would like to get my husband something new to try. What do they use or can you recommend anything?
Mix and Match Mama says
Smith uses a lot of Obaji products from the dermatologist’s office and Andrew uses Elemis. 🙂
SS says
Shay,
I love Christmas music, but you don’t have my favorite…. I love the Baby, It’s cold outside performed by Brain Setzer and Ann Margaret. Our kiddo says you can play it all winter because it never mentions Christmas. 😆 I remember getting Mariah’s CD in the 90s with that song on it when I got my first portable CD player and taking it all with me to my Dad’s. I like Elvis Christmas songs, John Denver and the Muppets is classic. Of course Last Christmas, but it just makes me sad because George died on Christmas…I mean geez and I was a Wham! And George fan. We have been watching the Hallmark movies, we watched Peanuts Christmas yesterday. We will watch more as we get closer. My kids always say mom are you going to read the best book Twas the night before, the night before Christmas!! It always makes us laugh and is so true if you haven’t read it find it in YouTube and just listen to it. It is a children’s book, but I guarantee it will make you giggle. We listen to Twas the night before Christmas read by my Gram who passed because she did a book that you record. It is so sweet and always brings a few tears because she loved reading to her grands.
Kara says
I added the small bags of jingle jangle to a balsam candle from TJ for teacher gifts this year! Love all the ideas!
Mix and Match Mama says
Adorable idea!
Paula Hobbs says
So many great gift ideas!! Thank you for sharing!!
Michelle says
Trader Joe’s was not on my list for today but now it is!! Also, thank you for the Movie List. I watched The Family Stone first this season! Diane Keaton will be missed!
Mix and Match Mama says
So so missed.
Alyssa says
The Billboard chart is incomplete because it left off any song by The Carpenters. They are definitely in the top 10 of all time!
Mix and Match Mama says
AGREE!!
Bren says
Alyssa I was headed to the comments to say the exact same thing! Any of the Christmas songs by The Carpenters should be in the top 10!
What is this Jingle Jangle for pups??!! Headed to my Trader Joes’s and excited to see if they have it!
Shay…I’m wearing those same pajamas as I type this and just recently received the under-eye patches! Thanks for all of the great finds!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay! So happy to help!
Krista S. Steenbergen says
Mistletoe by Justin Bieber has to go in my top 10 list or really any of that Christmas album. I can hear my girls belting it at peak Christmas age when it’s all fun!
Susy says
Not one song in the Top Ten about Jesus’ birth?
What have we come to? How about?
Silent Night?
O Come All Ye Faithful?
Noel?
Three Kings?
Not One!!!
Toni Cox says
Or the best one ever – O Holy Night!
Susy says
Yes!! So many beautiful Christ(mas) songs that give us memories of raising our voices together with family and friends this time of year.
I’m also fond of Mary, Did You Know.
I am hoping there are others who are disappointed these songs were few even in the top 100! We have wonderful secular Christmas songs but my richest memories remain in the ones praising Christ.
Sue Jones says
I’m going to Trader Joe’s tomorrow! All because of this post! 😉
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hope says
Silent Night by The Temptations, On This Winter’s Night by Lady A and anything Brett Eldridge liek Glow or Mr. Christmas would be in my top 10.
Sadly my TJ was out of the candy cane body butter but I got other goodies!!
Do you have any Christmas punch recipes? Im going to look and then may email you something I think you would love.
It the last week of school crazies….all the chrsitmad themed spirit days and helping with the party at the end of the week. I embrace it all because soon it will all end.
Have a great day!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
YAY!! Please email me that recipe, Hope! I would love it!
Debbie says
Little Drummer Boy – King and Country
Little Drummer Boy – Carrie Underwood and son
Marian says
I know Little Drummer Boy is not necessarily popular with folks but you MUST look up the Bob Seger version! Haunting and beautiful! Have a wonderful Christmas season!
Holly C says
These “random things” posts are my very favorite!!
Debra says
Your two posts today are saving me in a way I didn’t even remember I needed – I had forgotten about neighbor presents until you reminded me with the Trader Joe’s post! That party is Friday and I am making a run to Trader Joe’s and getting on Amazon for some neighbor gifts now! Thank you!
Cris says
You’ve mentioned that you do appetizers for Christmas Eve, but have you shared what Christmas Day looks like at your house? We don’t get extended family together on Christmas Eve, but I think we’ve converted them all to appetizers for dinner on Christmas Day! So much yummier!
Mix and Match Mama says
We keep things really simple on Christmas Day. Our little family of six (and then one set of grandparents…depending on the year) have brunch at my house after presents. I usually make a breakfast casserole and some sort of cinnamon roll or sweet pastry recipe. We nibble in the afternoon, and then we have chili for dinner. We stay in our pjs all day. It’s glorious 🙂 .
Cris says
That sounds so great! I would love to do some tweaking to get to that!
Emily Hall says
Thank you for being such a bright light and such a positive place to visit every day! As you mentioned you’re coming to an end of blogging for 2025, I wanted to send my deepest gratitude for you taking the time to share your joy for life with us. It is so clear in every post. Coming from someone who has very much needed help finding joy while dealing with loss, I want to say thank you for always being a lovely place to visit each morning! Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy new year.
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you so much for the kind words, Emily. I am so grateful you spent your year with me. Truly, thank you. xx
Carly says
Eloise at Christmas Time is missing from your movie list, it’s finally streaming on Amazon and it’s a must watch around here (multiple times)
Sheaffer Sims says
I see a trip to Trader Joe’s in the very near future to grab the chocolate peppermint covered almonds. I’VE NEVER SEEN THOSE!!!
