It’s TUESDAY TALK!
Once a month, I link up with Ashley and Erika (who host this fun little blog link up), and you blog about anything and everything.
In January, I blogged about HOW I’M USING ESSENTIAL OILS NOW
In February, I decided to blog about…THE FAMILY VALENTINE’S DANCE
In March, I encouraged women to share their businesses so we could SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER
In April, we talked about SNACKING!
In July, we talked about SUMMER SLOW COOKER SUPPERS
In August, we talked about ECHO DOTS
In September, we talked about ECHO SHOWS
And today, I’m sharing my SEPHORA FAVES!
I say this all the time, but some of my favorite posts to read are beauty posts and often, I’m reading all about people’s favorite things to buy at Sephora, so today, I thought I’d do the same. Last week, I walked into my bathroom and pulled out some of my tried and true faves from their store. Here’s what I love…
…from hair products to makeup and even perfume, these are my constant go tos at Sephora.
Here’s a little break down of why I love each one…
Do any of you wear Atelier Colognes? They come in so many different scents, but my favorite is always their Orange Sanguine. I received this as a sample a few years ago and loved it so much that I’m now on my second bottle. It’s light and easy to wear.
I told you last month that I’m now super in to Laura Mercier’s Caviar Sticks, so when I saw that they had this little mini holiday pack, I got really excited! These are four really pretty colors that I probably wouldn’t have bought otherwise, but in this little set, they’re perfect (especially for traveling since they’re small).
I am obsessed with both of these hair products! First, I’ve told you for the longest time that this Mistress is just perfection. After I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner, I get out, towel dry it (with this amazing towel HERE) and then rub in a small dollop of this. Not only does it smell fantastic (like coconut), I think it makes my hair more smooth and frizz-free whether I let it air dry or blow dry it. And then this dry shampoo is MY FAVORITE!!! I often hate dry shampoos because they leave a sticky, crunchy, icky residue in my hair, but this DOES NOT! I cannot ever imagine using another kind.
This Sephora lip gloss is always in my purse. It comes in many colors, but I find this one is always perfect. It’s called “natural look“.
I’ve probably been talking about Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion for 10 years. If your eyeshadow or eyeliner doesn’t stay put, creases, smudges or disappears, this will lock it in. Apply it to your lid, add your makeup on top and bam, it doesn’t budge.
I go through tubs and tubs of this lip balm. I keep one in my makeup drawer and then another one by my bed. I love it for my lips, but I think it’s great for cuticles too. LOVE! You can find lemon HERE and coconut HERE.
Okay, I switched from using Moroccanoil to Olaplex oil about 4 months ago. I still love Moroccanoil, but I had heard so many great things about this oil, that I wanted to try it…and I love it! I love how it smells and also how it performs. I add it to my dry hair before styling with my curling iron. I add just about a quarter-sized amount to my palms, rub them together and then through my hair. After that, I curl.
Alright, this Isle of Paradise is my newest Sephora find and probably my favorite. Sheaffer has been talking about these self tanning drops for a while, so I finally decided to try them myself. You guys know how much I swear by THESE tanning towels for your face, but after using these drops a few weeks, I think I prefer them instead! All you do is add 1 to 3 drops to your nightly moisturizer, rub it all over your face and then go to sleep. The next morning, you will wake up with this amazing glow. I love how this smells (tropical) and how easy it is to apply (with your moisturizer). I always put it on at night because I think it takes several hours to work, so this way, the next morning, bam, I’m tan. NOW, Sheaffer, Erika and I have been laughing all week because I misunderstood Sheaffer and instead of using 1 to 3 drops the first time, I used 10. That’s right, TEN…
…and that’s why I was freakishly tan two weeks ago. Bahahahaha! I mean…GEEZ, Shay! After school one day, Kensington said “Mom, did you go on vacation today?”. Um, no Kensington. I just used too many tanning drops! Needless to say, THEY WORK! I’ve learned that for me, 3 drops with my nightly moisturizer about every five days is perfect.
Okay, what’s your favorite thing to buy at Sephora? What should I try next time?
Charmaine Ng | Architecture & Lifestyle Blog says
Ooh, I’m definitely going to try out the Olaplex oil too! It sounds great! ?✨

I do!!! Erika got me hooked on it a few years ago! It’s like a present to myself each month!

Laughing sooo hard! I just about died when you told me you had used 10 drops. 3 is my typical go to, 4 when I want to be REALLY dark. I mean, you must have looked like you’d been living the island life. For years. Hahahaha!!!!
Erika Slaughter says
Did you head to Aruba while I was at school?! Hahahahahaha!!
Kelly B says

Oh my gosh, the story about the tanning drops made me giggle!! Thanks for sharing that! ? This may be a stupid question, but can you scrub off the tan? Or do you have to wait for it to fade?
Mix and Match Mama says
I scrubbed a bit…but, I think it took a few days. Geez! I’m such a mess!
Julie says
I love Atelier! All summer, I use their lemon scent. In the winter, my favorite is Arlesienne (L’Occitaine). It is amazing! PS I am reading (and absolutely loving) Night Road. Thank you for always having the best book reviews.

All I can think about is on Friends when Ross gets a spray tan!! hahaha
Katie Macsherry says
Can you put the tanning drops with body lotion and use all over?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would totally think so!!

Your tanning story made me think of the Friends episode where Ross goes to the tanning salon and gets 4 “twos” on his front side!! 🙂
KayLynn Stone says
The Orange and the Vanilla are my favorites from Atelier. Layered together it smells like orange cream
Mix and Match Mama says
What’s the name of the vanilla one?

Mix and Match Mama says
Oh I looked like Ross too!!! Bahahahaha!
Kelsey says
I love constantly trying new things, but here are my Sephora ride or dies. I must have ordered each of these at least 10 times! Sephora Coconut Face Wipes, Origins GinZing refreshing eye cream, Elizabeth & James Bourbon perfume for fall (smoky vanilla, it is SO GOOD!!!), and Caudalie Beauty Elixir. My splurge is the Fresh Crème Ancienne® Eye Cream. It is expensive but I have never found a nighttime eye cream as good. A little goes a long ways so it lasts!
Mix and Match Mama says
Dang, I need to try all of these!!!
Sara Robinson says
Because of you I’m obsessed with the BECCA under eye brightener – can’t live without it!
Mix and Match Mama says
Used it this morning! I use it every single morning with my concealer. Amazing stuff!

What do you use to tan your body? Or do you just tan your face?
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve just tried it on my face!

Your hair has been looking amazing lately. Can you do another tutorial? Something you are doing has changed and it looks great!!

Emily says
I use to using the tanning wipes too but I switched to the isle of paradise drops about 4 months ago and I LOVE THEM! I also bought their tanning mousse too and it’s SUPER EASY application and it doesn’t streak. I also love the way it eventually wears off. Super Amazing Products!
Courtney says
I love all of the drunk elephant skin care. My favorites are the C-Firma and the Protini. I switch to LaLa retro in the winter for added hydration. The marula oil is fantastic on the back of your hands and cuticles. The entire line is mix and match! I have been wanting to try the baby facial, I have heard great things! ?
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t think I’ve ever tried a Drunk Elephant product. Which one would you buy first?
Marla says
The baby facial is amazing and my very favorite and the marula oil is a must have also but I have dry skin.
Jenn Kane says
Recently tried drunk elephant and love it!
Mix and Match Mama says
Which product? I have heard so many good things about so many of them!
Courtney says
I would highly recommend getting the “Littles” kit by drunk elephant. It’s a little pricey BUT it gives you a chance to try everything. During the day i use one pump of c Firma with a drop of the d bronzi. I wash my face with the beste no 9 at night and then i have been using one pump b hydra and one pump of the lala retro (because i like a little thicker moisturizer in the winter with the Dry Oklahoma wind). I’m a huge fan of all their products. I love the protini too. It’s like a protein shot for your face!
Mix and Match Mama says
Great tip!! Thank you!!
Chrys says
Thank goodness you clarified the super tan mystery. Last week you posted picts here on the Blog to show us some clothing and I just kept thinking, “Man, homegirl looks super tanned. Did she go away or something and scheduled her previous posts? I wonder where she went…” But now I know that it was NOT a vacation haha!
Mix and Match Mama says
Bahahahaha! I’m such a mess!
Britt Wilkerson says

Have you noticed any staining on your bed sheets from using the tanning drops at night?
Mix and Match Mama says
I have not!

I am obsessed with Sephora!! My faves are the Sunday Riley tidal brightening enzyme water cream. It is the most beautiful, smooth hydrating cream ever! The black tea eye cream from fresh, caudalie vineactive vitamin c anti wrinkle serum, the mermaid skin serum by tarte is really nice too but a bit sticky. The fresh rose lip color is sooooo lovely. Such a soft but pretty color and goes on so well! I love anything by fresh!
The Sephora brand makeup remover is amazing! Only one I buy!
Youth to the people superfood hyaluronic acid cream is great! Nice and light, and the caudalie SOS hydration cream is great if your skin is dry.
I have a moisturizer obsession clearly. I’ll stop now lol
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m so intrigued by this brightening enzyme water cream! Looking it up now!
Kori says
I’ve added a few of these items to my cart! Highly recommend the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask next time. I was skeptical at first but now I’m a true believer! I think it’s going to make such a difference this winter.
Liz Bastian says
Do you ever use the tanning drops on your body and not just your face?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t tried them on my body, but I think I might. I’m a little afraid that it will take a lot of drops.
